and also like. the Loop. river’s able to tell simon is trying so hard to believe everything will be okay and so she tries to insist she Will be Be Okay. (“i’ll get get better!!”). simon knows she knows it’s hard for him and knows she knows however much he loves her more than everything he left behind, that doesn’t change the fact that it Is Still Hard. and then he feels guilty that she feels the need to soothe his anxieties by trying so hard to Be Okay for him that he decides that worrying after her well-being on both a literal safety and emotional level means he’s not allowed to have wants of his own. and then notably can’t stop having wants and also his own emotions anyway.

everyone i've talked to about this has been completely unaware so: if you didn't know already, there's going to be a solar eclipse, with totality or coverage of 90% or more in some places, over a lot of europe, on august 12th 2026. in the uk it will start just after 6pm, and the maximum will be at 7:13pm.

It was a huge milestone of scientific and technological advancement. (Plus, at the time, politically significant). Humanity went to space! We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! That’s a big deal! I’ve never thought about it before but now that I have, it’s ridiculous to me that that’s not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why don’t we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!
