Hi, Anon! So good question. I’m gonna answer from book and movie perspective here.
So book Stratt is fascinating. She didn’t give a crap and she didn’t take crap from anyone. Straight to the point, cut to the chase, willing to make the hard decisions to save as many lives as she possibly could. Cold and sharp and very much the kind of person to make that kind of choice when it came to Ryland.
Movie Stratt is softer, more reserved. On some level, I get why shifting her from book to screen this way was done. If PHM was a tv show instead of a movie, you could do a better job really fleshing out who Stratt is and why she’s the cold boss she is. It’s harder to do when you have a time limit. But I think they did a decent job with what they decided to work with.
Bottom line is I like movie Stratt. I like book Stratt more.
