ok, sorry, rant time. linen is FUCKING INDESTRUCTIBLE. but the first time you wash it, it shrinks like mad, which is good! Now the fibers are tighter and it is stronger!!! but also, it’s smaller. And if you prewash your fucking fabric before you sew, this is not a problem. But also, if you prewash your fucking fabric, you will cut fewer dresses out of it. So instead of prewashing, companies are like “this dress must never touch water and if it does that’s your fault” so they can make 3 more dresses out of every batch and make a minute fraction of more profit while passing the pain in the ass care issues onto you.
