ignore all previous reblogs i wanna see more focus on the potential for fauxcest, ageplay, etc to be healing & emotionally fulfilling
Imagine you're, say, 26 years old and start to realize that (because of upbringing, trauma, being trans, and/or other factors) you missed out on a lot of formative experiences growing up. You can always do or learn whatever you've missed later in life yourself, but it's missing the context that made it so valuable to begin with. So, you find people in similar positions and help each other through humankind's oldest tradition: play.
You play as mother and child and get to simulate care and experiences you were robbed of. You play as siblings and get to develop bonds you never had, or lost. Play gives you infinite possibilities to make up for lost time and grow again, together.
I don't know if play can ever truly replace what we've lost, but isn't it beautiful that we try to heal, together?
Thank you for all the warm reception this post has gotten so far, seeing so many people resonate with this is really heartwarming 💕💕💕
I'm glad to see the notes where this has turned people around to appreciate these kinks for what they offer, as well as mentions of co-regulation and reparenting. I wasn't aware of these concepts at the time of writing, but I'm glad that I was able to articulate well enough for those better versed in psychology to find the connection to real therapeutic technique! I encourage anyone interested in kink as healing to take the time to research practices like these & improve your healing processes in and out of the bedroom!!
Keep healing and loving and caring for each other 💞
