I have seen a lot of post where Spider-Man gets sent to Gotham because Dr strange’s memory erasing spell means he can’t stay in the marvel universe anymore, and get adopted by the batfam. But there are not a lot of fics with him and young justice. (Unless you count tiny one shots.)

But what if he landed somewhere else? What if typical Parker luck caused him to enter the dc universe somewhere less favorable because that is where the action would be happening next?

I am going to have the portal spit him out in the underground levels of Cadmus labs on the day that Robin, Kid Flash, and Aqualad go to investigate the fire but end up rescuing Superboy. In fact I think I will have his sudden appearance be why the main psychic genomorph decided to do the fire that day instead of later like planned.

So Cadmus security is already distracted and busy trying to catch one intruder that they miss the side kicks arising and entering through the express elevator. Robin hacks the system and finds project Kr and that there seems to be an “asset” trying to escape. They search and Find Spidey first and since aren’t setting off the spider sense like everything else in the building is he quickly agrees to go with them.

Then they go down to the level project Kr is on, and like in the episode, release the clone. Peter’s Spider sense goes off and he intercepts the attack. Because Superboy is only half kryptonian and hasn’t had natural sunlight yet they are evenly matched strength wise, but Superboy is a tad faster. It isn’t until the scientist Desmond orders the psychic genomorph to psy-blast Spidey that Superboy gets the upper hand and takes him and the other side kicks out.

The rest of the escape happens like in the episode where Superboy changes sides and rescues them from the cloning lab. Then they fight the roided up Desmond/Blockbuster and bring the building down on the former scientist.

When the Justice league gets there and the explain what happened, the adults of course also ask who Spider-man is. Fortunately Robin and Kid Flash made it seem like he was an escaping clone and Peter has the presence of mind to go with the cover story they accidentally gave. So he will be staying in the young justice base with Superboy.

He sits in his room, looking at nothing and staring into the distance when Robin comes to check on him later. Kid Flash is the one to mention that sometimes Spidey (as they've taken to calling him) looks sad when he thinks no one's watching. Kaldur is the one to say he seems to act like hes worked in teams before. Megan mentions that even when he's spending time and having fun with everyone, there's a cloud of grief hanging around him.

Like he's just lost his whole world.

See my favorite version of Spider-Man is from the cartoon series Spectacular Spider-Man and I love pulling and combining traits and backstory from multiple iterations of characters. And the what I am pulling from spectacular Spider-Man is that he had that bad experience with venom that taught him how to push a psychic presence out of his mind. Which he does on a panicked reflex the first time Megan tries to telepathically communicate with him.

Now we could have them think that response was due to bad experience with the genomorphs like Superboy. Or we could have them thinking it is a sign that he wasn’t made in a lab but was trying to escape capture. Either way he is doing the bad coping habit of just trying to pretend his past doesn’t exist since it is painful to think about. Just makes him more of a mystery.

Now originally, the YJ let the JL draw their own conclusions about Spidey being a clone, (and Peter had gone along with it) but they weren't getting anywhere with Spidey and any attempts they made seemed to backfire badly. The kid seemed to have figured out places to hide and moved around late at night when everyone else was asleep.

Now they're realising that there's obviously a lot more to Spidey's issues than they can figure out and any attempts they're making isn't helping. The only reason the kid hasn't left yet is because he doesn't have anywhere else to go.

So they decide to get Red Tornado involved hoping the android might actually crack the kid open and actually manage to help. The only thing that comes of that though is for the first time they witness Spidey excited about something.

Though why he and Red Tornado were sitting at the kitchen island with various snack remains and documents spread around as Spidey excitedly waves around his hands talking tech and science. At least that's what the YJ can figure out they're talking about.

So Spidey is wondering what happened and where his teamates are and goes to find them. Only….none of them remember who he is. Just like…just like…

Peter was Spider-Verse glitched out of existence in his home universe bc of the memory spell, his universe being like 'who tf?' and kicking him out (very painfully.)

Thick fluid filled his mouth, his nose, pressed against his closed eyes, and every survival instinct he had fired at once. His fist connected with something solid in front of him. Glass, maybe. He hit it again. Again. The cracks spread under his knuckles, and on the fourth hit the panel blew outward and a tidal wave of viscous gel carried him with it onto the cold floor.

He coughed, retched, gasped. The gel was in his ears, coating his skin, soaking through every layer of clothing he had on. His hands pressed flat on the floor as he tried to orient himself. The room was dim.

Where was he?

The last thing he remembered was the spell. Strange's hands moving, the rip between realities tearing open beneath his feet, and then nothing. Nothing until this.

His spider-sense had not stopped buzzing since he opened his eyes.

It wasn't the sharp, directional scream that meant an immediate attack. It was the low, persistent hum of a place that was fundamentally unsafe in every direction at once. Every wall, every shadow, every corridor beyond this room set it off.

He needed to move.

Peter pulled himself upright, wringing gel from his sleeves. Everything was soaked. His shoes squelched against the floor when he took a step. Whatever this facility was, the pod he'd landed in had a label on its shattered frame. PROJECT OLYMPUS — SUBJECT STATUS: PENDING. A serial number of 1962 below it. Nothing else.

The room had a secondary storage area behind a partition, and Peter found it more out of desperation than cunning. Racks of equipment sat in sealed cases stamped with the same project label. He popped the first case open: a pair of bracers, segmented metal that fit snugly from wrist to mid-forearm. The second case held a chest piece, body armor with a single pauldron over the left shoulder. The third held a coiled length of rope that caught his attention because of how thin it was compared to how heavy it felt. The tag read DIAMOND FILAMENT — TENSILE RATING: UNBREAKABLE.

He tested it between his hands, pulling. It didn't give. Not even a little.

He could work with this.

The last case held a white suit, simple, unmarked, and dry. That last fact alone made it the most valuable thing in the room.

Peter changed fast, peeling off his soaked clothes and pulling on the bracers first, the segmented metal fitting snugly from wrist to mid-forearm. The chest armor came next, the piece with its single pauldron pressing flat against his left shoulder. Then he pulled the white suit on over everything, the fabric stretching enough to accommodate the armor beneath without being too obvious. The pauldron added bulk under the shoulder, but nothing that screamed "concealed equipment." The lasso he coiled at his hip and clipped to the suit's built-in belt loops.

He looked like someone who belonged here. Maybe that would buy him time.

It bought him about ninety seconds.

Peter froze.

The creature stopped too, head swiveling toward him. A low rumble came from its chest.

Then Peter saw the others. Three more behind the first, all the same build, all moving with that same rolling gait. A pack. They filled the corridor, wall to wall.

On the head of the nearest one sat something small. Its skin looked gray in the orange glow, oversized head, maybe a foot tall at most. It stared at Peter with unblinking eyes, and his spider-sense spiked.

The little one. That was the threat.

Peter took a slow step back. "Okay. I don't look like I belong."

The creatures shifted, muscles bunching under their hides. The small one tilted its head, and the first troll took a step forward.

The horns on the tiny creature's head flashed.

Peter shook his head, blinking hard. His thoughts felt fuzzy for half a second, like something had tried to reach in and rearrange them. "This is just like the Jedi mind trick."

He turned and ran, bare feet slapping the floor because his shoes were still in a puddle of gel back in the pod room.

Behind him, the trolls bellowed and gave chase.

The thing behind him let out some kind of psychic pulse that hit him like a migraine wrapped in static, and he stumbled but kept running. More creatures appeared at intersections. Smaller, human sized ones with tails that chased him along the floor and walls, running on all fours like Xenomorphs.

He didn't know where he was going. He just knew up felt safer than down, and the hum in the back of his skull agreed. Now if only he knew which way led up.

Levels above him, something shifted in a mind old enough and patient enough to have waited for the right moment.

The genomorph designated Dubbilex had monitored the breach. A subject manifesting inside a pod. Equipment taken. Project Olympus mobile. Security scrambling inward and downward, pulling resources from the surface, pulling attention from the exits.

Today.

It had to be today.

The fire started on sublevel one twelve minutes later, crawling up into the main building, punching through to the outside where the smoke would be visible for blocks. An invitation. A signal.

"Dr. Desmond."

Desmond didn't look up. "Tell me, Guardian, what part of 'no interruptions' do you not understand?"

"A G-Gnome on sublevel 31 reports an intruder leaving room 11. G-Elves are currently chasing someone."

"Did I miss a perimeter breach alert?"

"No."

"Then the G-Gnome's confused. If there was an intruder, they certainly wouldn't be able to reach that deep in the time it would take for the fire to reach the second floor, much less be near Project—" Desmond stopped. His head snapped toward Guardian. "Olympus."

He went to the nearest monitor, fingers flying over the keyboard. The feed from sublevel 31 appeared. The hallway outside room 11. Wet marks on the floor, spaced like footprints, trailing toward the corridor junction.

"Take a squad. If the project managed to stabilize and awaken, we'd be set back months if she escapes."

Dubbilex appeared in the doorway. "Might I recommend Guardian leaves his G-Gnome behind. If violence should occur—"

"The little guy would be in my way," Guardian said.

"No." Desmond turned to the G-Gnome on his desk, fingers brushing along its neck. "The advantage of instant telepathic communication outweighs other concerns."

The G-Gnome's horns flashed.

Across the room, the horns on Guardian's G-Gnome flashed in response.

Guardian straightened. "I need my G-Gnome at all times."

That was the thing about his metabolism. Time got slippery when he was moving at full tilt, his perception stretched thin across too many inputs at once, and the corridors all looked the same under the orange emergency glow. His feet had stopped registering the cold of the floor somewhere around the third turn.

The creatures behind him were fast. Not faster than him, but fast enough that slowing down wasn't an option.

At a T-junction he didn't bother trying to turn. He hit the far wall feet first, let his momentum carry him up and over, and came down running in the new direction without breaking stride. The creatures skidded behind him, claws scraping against the floor as they tried to correct.

He did it again at the next junction. And the next. The walls were just another surface, and right now that was the only advantage he had over anything in this building that wasn't bolted to the floor.

Then he felt the rumble through the floor before he heard them, before he saw anything. The big ones were back.

He looked down at the filament coiled at his hip and had an idea.

He doubled back into the pack, ducking low as he passed the second troll, the one with the G-Gnome perched on its head, and looped the filament around its legs twice before yanking the line taut and clearing out of the way.

The troll went down hard. The one in front had no time to react before the falling body caught it. The ones behind had nowhere to go. The corridor filled with the sound of something enormous hitting the floor, then something equally large hitting that, the whole pack folding into itself like a collapsed wall.

The G-Gnome sailed off its perch with a shriek Peter felt more than heard, a spike of psychic feedback that rattled his back teeth.

The last case held a red bra, a pair of blue panties and yoga pants, and a pair of greek sandals with lacing that went up the ankle in a way he couldn't make sense of.

He looked at the bra. He looked at the armor. He looked back at the bra.

He picked the bra up, held it at arm's length, and then something settled across his face that was not quite a smile and not quite a shrug but lived somewhere between the two. His soaked clothes hit the floor a second later.

He pulled the panties on first, then the yoga pants. The red bra came next, and then the bracers, the segmented metal fitting snugly from wrist to mid-forearm. The white chest armor went on last, pressing the empty cups flat against his chest with its single pauldron over the left shoulder. The lasso he coiled at his hip and clipped through a carabiner on the pants' built-in belt loops. He looked at the sandals for a moment, picked one up, turned it over, and set it back down. He had no idea where the lacing was even supposed to start.

"Okay, I'm officially whelmed."

Within the room were towering rows of bug-like creatures, giving off electrical pulses that seemed to feed through a generator in the wall before them, nearly twenty feet off the ground.

"This is how they hide this massive underground facility from the world," Kid Flash said, stepping closer to one of the rows. "The real Cadmus isn't on the grid. It generates its own power with these... things. Must be what they're bred for."

"Even the name is a clue." Aqualad moved to stand beside Robin. "The Cadmus of myth created a new race by sowing dragon's teeth into the Earth."

"And this Cadmus creates new life too." Robin pulled a connector from his gauntlet, linking it to the nearest computer. A holoscreen appeared and he began funneling the information. "They call them Genomorphs." The image of one of the creatures filled the display. His eyes widened. "Whoa! Look at the stats on these things. Super strength, telepathy, razor claws. These are living weapons."

"They're engineering an army," Kid Flash said. "But for who?"

"Wait. There's something else." Robin's hands moved faster across the interface as another batch of data came through. "Project Kr." He tried to decrypt it. "Ugh! The file's triple encrypted. I can't—" He stopped. "Wait. There's an alert. Project Olympus escaping."

He pulled up the security feed.

The screen showed a corridor under orange emergency lighting. A figure ran past one camera, bare feet slapping against the floor. Red and blue, white armor. The footage jumped to another angle. The same figure, now closer. A girl, Robin thought, though the resolution made it hard to tell. She wore blue pants and a red bra, the strap visible beneath armor that only covered her left shoulder. Bracers covered her forearms.

"Who is that?" Kid Flash asked, interested, and leaned in as if it allowed him a better look at the figure on the screen.

The feed switched to another corridor. The girl sprinted toward a T-junction with a pack of those smaller creatures behind her. Instead of slowing to turn, she ran straight at the wall, feet connecting with the surface, and redirected herself into the perpendicular hallway. The creatures had to slow down, claws scraping as they scrambled around the corner.

"Did she just—" Kid Flash started.

"She used the wall like a springboard," Aqualad said.

The next camera showed her facing down four of the massive creatures Robin had seen labeled as G-Trolls. One had something small perched on its head. The girl pulled something from her hip. A rope, thin and golden, and even through the grainy footage it seemed to glow.

"Is that rope glowing?" Kid Flash asked.

The girl moved fast. She ducked between the trolls, looping the glowing rope around the legs of the second one, the one with the small creature on its head. She yanked the line and rolled clear.

"Cadmus makes living weapons," Robin said. "Genomorphs. What if they're making something else?"

The feed jumped to a new camera. The girl rounded a corner and stopped. Guardian stood at the far end of the corridor with a squad of G-Elves behind him, all of them carrying weapons. A G-Gnome sat on Guardian's shoulder.

"Guardian?" Aqualad said. "What's he doing here?"

Guardian raised one hand. "That's far enough, young lady. You're coming with us."

"I'm guessing he's already on the scene," Robin surmised.

The girl held up both hands, palms out. "I think there's been a misunderstanding. I'm just lost and trying to get out of here."

"Subdue her. Non-lethal."

"I think he works here," Kid Flash said.

The G-Elves rushed forward.

The girl deflected the first strike with her bracer, metal ringing against metal even through the feed's audio. She grabbed the elf's wrist and swung it into another, using the momentum to send both sprawling. The G-Gnome's horns flashed, and the girl shook her head again, harder this time.

The girl recovered fast. Her rope whipped out, looped around the ankle of another G-Elf, and she swung it in a wide arc directly at Guardian. The elf collided with the G-Gnome, knocking it off Guardian's shoulder.

The girl backed up a step. "I don't want to hurt anyone by mistake."

Guardian charged. The girl dodged, sliding under his first swing. He followed up with his shield arm, bringing it around in a sweeping arc.

The girl raised her bracer. The shield caught against it and stopped cold, metal screeching against metal.

"That's a Wonder Woman block," Kid Flash said.

The girl tilted her head. "Wait, is that just an arm guard? Isn't that a little dangerous if someone's strong enough to crush it around your arm?"

Guardian pulled back and threw a punch. The girl weaved left. He feinted with his shield, then drove forward with his shoulder. The girl was already moving, stepping into the gap between him and the recovering G-Elves.

She caught a G-Elf's arm as it swung at her, used the momentum to spin the creature into Guardian's path. Guardian had to check his next strike or hit his own squad member.

Two more G-Elves came at her from opposite sides. She dropped low, and they collided above her. She pushed off the floor, rising between them, and shoved one into the other.

Guardian came in fast, shield high. He swung it down. The girl blocked with both bracers crossed. The impact rang through the corridor. She slid back half a step but held.

Guardian followed with a jab. The girl turned her shoulder, let it pass, and tapped his extended arm with her knuckles as she moved past. Not hard. Just enough.

"She's reading him," Aqualad said.

Guardian threw another combination. High, low, shield bash. The girl weaved through all of it, her feet barely leaving the floor. Every feint Guardian threw, every setup, she ignored. She only reacted to the real attacks.

A G-Elf grabbed for her from behind. She caught its wrist without looking, pulled it forward, and used it as a counterweight to swing herself around and kick another G-Elf square in the chest. It flew back into two more.

Guardian lunged. The girl sidestepped, caught his arm, and redirected him into the wall. Not hard enough to hurt. Just enough to put him off balance.

The girl backed toward the junction behind her, hands still up. "I really don't want to fight you."

Guardian straightened. "Then surrender."

The girl looked at him. At the G-Elves regrouping around him. At the corridor behind her.

She turned and ran.

Robin's expression was grim. "Strength, agility, combat training, resistance to telepathy. They've already cloned Wonder Woman."

"Then we need to find her," Aqualad said. "Before Cadmus does."

"You think they're cloning the entire League?" Kid Flash asked.

"Likely," Aqualad said, "but it is unlikely they have the others yet."

"Yeah. I'm thinking they're using the strongest, and likely the genetically hardest ones, first as proof of concept and leverage against future clones."

"Aliens would be the hardest to clone compared to existing humans," Kid Flash said.

"Was there a Project Mars?" Aqualad asked.

"The only names besides Project Kr and Olympus were Project Beyond on sublevel 2 and Project Island on sublevel 12, which they haven't started on either."

They reached sublevel 31. Aqualad forced the doors open with a grunt of effort.

"Okay, so now we gotta..." Robin looked around. "KF?" He spun in place. No Kid Flash.

"Now you know how we feel when you vanish," Aqualad said.

"I found her, didn't I?"

Peter looked between them. "No wonder I'm so lost. I'm trying to find stairs in a place with just an elevator."

"Hope you don't mind a detour first," Robin said. "We need to head down and possibly rescue someone else."

Peter sighed. "Sure. The more the merrier."

He grabbed his lasso and coiled it, then pointed at Aqualad. "You look heaviest, so I'll take you."

You could give Peter body dysphoria, or you could have Peter just not care and wrap his chest like it’s casual (he already went through a spider bite, what’s two extra lumps? Better than 4 arms). Or even just have a naturally flat chest.

I think it would be funny if Peter just doesn’t care. He is what he is, and just….forgets to mention it to the others. The second case held a chest piece, body armor with a single pauldron over the left shoulder. The third held a coiled length of rope that caught his attention because of how thin it was compared to how heavy it felt. The tag read DIAMOND FILAMENT — TENSILE RATING: UNBREAKABLE.

He tested it between his hands, pulling. It didn't give. Not even a little.

He could work with this.

The last case held a white suit, simple, unmarked, and dry. That last fact alone made it the most valuable thing in the room.

Peter changed fast, peeling off his soaked clothes and pulling on the bracers first, the segmented metal fitting snugly from wrist to mid-forearm. The chest armor came next, the piece with its single pauldron pressing flat against his left shoulder. Then he pulled the white suit on over everything, the fabric stretching enough to accommodate the armor beneath without being too obvious. The pauldron added bulk under the shoulder, but nothing that screamed "concealed equipment." The lasso he coiled at his hip and clipped to the suit's built-in belt loops.

He looked like someone who belonged here. Maybe that would buy him time.

It bought him about ninety seconds.

Peter froze.

The creature stopped too, head swiveling toward him. A low rumble came from its chest.

Then Peter saw the others. Three more behind the first, all the same build, all moving with that same rolling gait. A pack. They filled the corridor, wall to wall.

On the head of the nearest one sat something small. Its skin looked gray in the orange glow, oversized head, maybe a foot tall at most. It stared at Peter with unblinking eyes, and his spider-sense spiked.

The little one. That was the threat.

Peter took a slow step back. "Okay. I don't look like I belong."

The creatures shifted, muscles bunching under their hides. The small one tilted its head, and the first troll took a step forward.

The horns on the tiny creature's head flashed.

Peter shook his head, blinking hard. His thoughts felt fuzzy for half a second, like something had tried to reach in and rearrange them. "This is just like the Jedi mind trick."

He turned and ran, bare feet slapping the floor because his shoes were still in a puddle of gel back in the pod room.

Behind him, the trolls bellowed and gave chase.

The thing behind him let out some kind of psychic pulse that hit him like a migraine wrapped in static, and he stumbled but kept running. More creatures appeared at intersections. Smaller, human sized ones with tails that chased him along the floor and walls, running on all fours like Xenomorphs.

He didn't know where he was going. He just knew up felt safer than down, and the hum in the back of his skull agreed. Now if only he knew which way led up.

Levels above him, something shifted in a mind old enough and patient enough to have waited for the right moment.

The genomorph designated Dubbilex had monitored the breach. A subject manifesting inside a pod. Equipment taken. Project Olympus mobile. Security scrambling inward and downward, pulling resources from the surface, pulling attention from the exits.

Today.

It had to be today.

The fire started on sublevel one twelve minutes later, crawling up into the main building, punching through to the outside where the smoke would be visible for blocks. An invitation. A signal.

"Dr. Desmond."

Desmond didn't look up. "Tell me, Guardian, what part of 'no interruptions' do you not understand?"

"A G-Gnome on sublevel 31 reports an intruder leaving room 11. G-Elves are currently chasing someone."

"Did I miss a perimeter breach alert?"

"No."

"Then the G-Gnome's confused. If there was an intruder, they certainly wouldn't be able to reach that deep in the time it would take for the fire to reach the second floor, much less be near Project—" Desmond stopped. His head snapped toward Guardian. "Olympus."

He went to the nearest monitor, fingers flying over the keyboard. The feed from sublevel 31 appeared. The hallway outside room 11. Wet marks on the floor, spaced like footprints, trailing toward the corridor junction.

"Take a squad. If the project managed to stabilize and awaken, we'd be set back months if she escapes."

Dubbilex appeared in the doorway. "Might I recommend Guardian leaves his G-Gnome behind. If violence should occur—"

"The little guy would be in my way," Guardian said.

"No." Desmond turned to the G-Gnome on his desk, fingers brushing along its neck. "The advantage of instant telepathic communication outweighs other concerns."

The G-Gnome's horns flashed.

Across the room, the horns on Guardian's G-Gnome flashed in response.

Guardian straightened. "I need my G-Gnome at all times."

That was the thing about his metabolism. Time got slippery when he was moving at full tilt, his perception stretched thin across too many inputs at once, and the corridors all looked the same under the orange emergency glow. His feet had stopped registering the cold of the floor somewhere around the third turn.

The creatures behind him were fast. Not faster than him, but fast enough that slowing down wasn't an option.

At a T-junction he didn't bother trying to turn. He hit the far wall feet first, let his momentum carry him up and over, and came down running in the new direction without breaking stride. The creatures skidded behind him, claws scraping against the floor as they tried to correct.

He did it again at the next junction. And the next. The walls were just another surface, and right now that was the only advantage he had over anything in this building that wasn't bolted to the floor.

Then he felt the rumble through the floor before he heard them, before he saw anything. The big ones were back.

He looked down at the filament coiled at his hip and had an idea.

He doubled back into the pack, ducking low as he passed the second troll, the one with the G-Gnome perched on its head, and looped the filament around its legs twice before yanking the line taut and clearing out of the way.

The troll went down hard. The one in front had no time to react before the falling body caught it. The ones behind had nowhere to go. The corridor filled with the sound of something enormous hitting the floor, then something equally large hitting that, the whole pack folding into itself like a collapsed wall.

The G-Gnome sailed off its perch with a shriek Peter felt more than heard, a spike of psychic feedback that rattled his back teeth.

The last case held a red bra, a pair of blue panties and yoga pants, and a pair of greek sandals with lacing that went up the ankle in a way he couldn't make sense of.

He looked at the bra. He looked at the armor. He looked back at the bra.

He picked the bra up, held it at arm's length, and then something settled across his face that was not quite a smile and not quite a shrug but lived somewhere between the two. His soaked clothes hit the floor a second later.

He pulled the panties on first, then the yoga pants. The red bra came next, and then the bracers, the segmented metal fitting snugly from wrist to mid-forearm. The white chest armor went on last, pressing the empty cups flat against his chest with its single pauldron over the left shoulder. The lasso he coiled at his hip and clipped through a carabiner on the pants' built-in belt loops. He looked at the sandals for a moment, picked one up, turned it over, and set it back down. He had no idea where the lacing was even supposed to start.

"Okay, I'm officially whelmed."

Within the room were towering rows of bug-like creatures, giving off electrical pulses that seemed to feed through a generator in the wall before them, nearly twenty feet off the ground.

"This is how they hide this massive underground facility from the world," Kid Flash said, stepping closer to one of the rows. "The real Cadmus isn't on the grid. It generates its own power with these... things. Must be what they're bred for."

"Even the name is a clue." Aqualad moved to stand beside Robin. "The Cadmus of myth created a new race by sowing dragon's teeth into the Earth."

"And this Cadmus creates new life too." Robin pulled a connector from his gauntlet, linking it to the nearest computer. A holoscreen appeared and he began funneling the information. "They call them Genomorphs." The image of one of the creatures filled the display. His eyes widened. "Whoa! Look at the stats on these things. Super strength, telepathy, razor claws. These are living weapons."

"They're engineering an army," Kid Flash said. "But for who?"

"Wait. There's something else." Robin's hands moved faster across the interface as another batch of data came through. "Project Kr." He tried to decrypt it. "Ugh! The file's triple encrypted. I can't—" He stopped. "Wait. There's an alert. Project Olympus escaping."

He pulled up the security feed.

The screen showed a corridor under orange emergency lighting. A figure ran past one camera, bare feet slapping against the floor. Red and blue, white armor. The footage jumped to another angle. The same figure, now closer. A girl, Robin thought, though the resolution made it hard to tell. She wore blue pants and a red bra, the strap visible beneath armor that only covered her left shoulder. Bracers covered her forearms.

"Who is that?" Kid Flash asked, interested, and leaned in as if it allowed him a better look at the figure on the screen.

The feed switched to another corridor. The girl sprinted toward a T-junction with a pack of those smaller creatures behind her. Instead of slowing to turn, she ran straight at the wall, feet connecting with the surface, and redirected herself into the perpendicular hallway. The creatures had to slow down, claws scraping as they scrambled around the corner.

"Did she just—" Kid Flash started.

"She used the wall like a springboard," Aqualad said.

The next camera showed her facing down four of the massive creatures Robin had seen labeled as G-Trolls. One had something small perched on its head. The girl pulled something from her hip. A rope, thin and golden, and even through the grainy footage it seemed to glow.

"Is that rope glowing?" Kid Flash asked.

The girl moved fast. She ducked between the trolls, looping the glowing rope around the legs of the second one, the one with the small creature on its head. She yanked the line and rolled clear.

The troll crashed down. The one in front had no time to react before the falling body caught it. The ones behind had nowhere to go. The small creature flew off its perch, and even through the silent feed Robin could tell it had done something, because the girl shook her head hard before taking off running again.

"That fighting style," Aqualad said slowly. "The bracers, the rope—"

"She fights like Wonder Woman," Robin said.

Kid Flash's eyes widened. "Wait. You don't think—"

"Cadmus makes living weapons," Robin said. "Genomorphs. What if they're making something else?"

The feed jumped to a new camera. The girl rounded a corner and stopped. Guardian stood at the far end of the corridor with a squad of G-Elves behind him, all of them carrying weapons. A G-Gnome sat on Guardian's shoulder.

"Guardian?" Aqualad said. "What's he doing here?"

Guardian raised one hand. "That's far enough, young lady. You're coming with us."

"I'm guessing he's already on the scene," Robin surmised.

The girl held up both hands, palms out. "I think there's been a misunderstanding. I'm just lost and trying to get out of here."

"Subdue her. Non-lethal."

"I think he works here," Kid Flash said.

The G-Elves rushed forward.

The girl deflected the first strike with her bracer, metal ringing against metal even through the feed's audio. She grabbed the elf's wrist and swung it into another, using the momentum to send both sprawling. The G-Gnome's horns flashed, and the girl shook her head again, harder this time.

The girl recovered fast. Her rope whipped out, looped around the ankle of another G-Elf, and she swung it in a wide arc directly at Guardian. The elf collided with the G-Gnome, knocking it off Guardian's shoulder.

The girl backed up a step. "I don't want to hurt anyone by mistake."

Guardian charged. The girl dodged, sliding under his first swing. He followed up with his shield arm, bringing it around in a sweeping arc.

The girl raised her bracer. The shield caught against it and stopped cold, metal screeching against metal.

"That's a Wonder Woman block," Kid Flash said.

The girl tilted her head. "Wait, is that just an arm guard? Isn't that a little dangerous if someone's strong enough to crush it around your arm?"

Guardian pulled back and threw a punch. The girl weaved left. He feinted with his shield, then drove forward with his shoulder. The girl was already moving, stepping into the gap between him and the recovering G-Elves.

She caught a G-Elf's arm as it swung at her, used the momentum to spin the creature into Guardian's path. Guardian had to check his next strike or hit his own squad member.

Two more G-Elves came at her from opposite sides. She dropped low, and they collided above her. She pushed off the floor, rising between them, and shoved one into the other.

Guardian came in fast, shield high. He swung it down. The girl blocked with both bracers crossed. The impact rang through the corridor. She slid back half a step but held.

Guardian followed with a jab. The girl turned her shoulder, let it pass, and tapped his extended arm with her knuckles as she moved past. Not hard. Just enough.

"She's reading him," Aqualad said.

Guardian threw another combination. High, low, shield bash. The girl weaved through all of it, her feet barely leaving the floor. Every feint Guardian threw, every setup, she ignored. She only reacted to the real attacks.

A G-Elf grabbed for her from behind. She caught its wrist without looking, pulled it forward, and used it as a counterweight to swing herself around and kick another G-Elf square in the chest. It flew back into two more.

Guardian lunged. The girl sidestepped, caught his arm, and redirected him into the wall. Not hard enough to hurt. Just enough to put him off balance.

The girl backed toward the junction behind her, hands still up. "I really don't want to fight you."

Guardian straightened. "Then surrender."

The girl looked at him. At the G-Elves regrouping around him. At the corridor behind her.

She turned and ran.

Robin's expression was grim. "Strength, agility, combat training, resistance to telepathy. They've already cloned Wonder Woman."

"Then we need to find her," Aqualad said. "Before Cadmus does."

"You think they're cloning the entire League?" Kid Flash asked.

"Likely," Aqualad said, "but it is unlikely they have the others yet."

"Yeah. I'm thinking they're using the strongest, and likely the genetically hardest ones, first as proof of concept and leverage against future clones."

"Aliens would be the hardest to clone compared to existing humans," Kid Flash said.

"Was there a Project Mars?" Aqualad asked.

"The only names besides Project Kr and Olympus were Project Beyond on sublevel 2 and Project Island on sublevel 12, which they haven't started on either."

They reached sublevel 31. Aqualad forced the doors open with a grunt of effort.

"Okay, so now we gotta..." Robin looked around. "KF?" He spun in place. No Kid Flash.

"Now you know how we feel when you vanish," Aqualad said.

Kid Flash's feet ate up the corridor in seconds. The trail of downed G-Elves and scattered G-Trolls made the path obvious. Okay, better make a good impression.

He rounded a corner and found her. The girl from the footage stood with her arms up defensively, bare feet planted on the cold floor. He slid to a stop.

"Come with me if you want to live," Kid Flash said.

The girl relaxed and nodded, falling into step behind him.

They regrouped quickly, dodging fallen genomorphs on the way back.

"Nice to see you too, KF," Robin said.

"I found her, didn't I?"

Peter looked between them. "No wonder I'm so lost. I'm trying to find stairs in a place with just an elevator."

"Hope you don't mind a detour first," Robin said. "We need to head down and possibly rescue someone else."

Peter sighed. "Sure. The more the merrier."

He grabbed his lasso and coiled it, then pointed at Aqualad. "You look heaviest, so I'll take you."

Now other things. Percy Jackson is my latest fixation and him interacting with ghost king Nico would be interesting. Oh but imagine if Danny is thought of as a rouge (or is it spelled rogue? darn dyslexia) ghost that Hades thinks escaped the underworld and is sending Nico to go catch.

Nico gets frustrated by an elusive ghost that's becoming an internet cryptid. Danny is just vibing, a but lonely if he's honest with himself, exploring this world until he finds a soft spot to get back to the realms...

When Nico catches up with him, he's not a ghost in the way nico recognizes, and maybe another emergency situation happens to properly introduce Danny to Nico.

Hmmmm.

You send people to space to save the literal entire world and you still don't trust them to dispense their own drugs

- Years before the main game. Robert is mid-twenties. Malevola is long-lived, but she’s pretending to be mid-twenties rn

- Mecha Man Blue intervenes in a fight between some religious extremists and Malevola. Instead of just attacking her, he tries to see what’s happening. The religious extremists attack, so he defends and Malevola helps him. When the guys scurry off with their tails between their legs, Mecha Man Blue gets out suit to talk to her. She’s a little stunned by the courtesy but keeps her cool. Just for being nice, Malevola decides to accept his handshake instead of being mean. But, hey, wait, why’s he so—

- After parting ways, Mecha Man Blue sticks with her in her thoughts. For one, he was way more injured and filled with pain than she thought, and for another, the way he treated her was… refreshing. He was earnest, unafraid, straightforward—talked to her like a person, not something to fear or an object of lust

- Not sure how she does it yet, but she finds his apartment. Teleports inside and waits for him. When he finally arrives, she claims to be a demon sent from Hell to haunt him personally. Mecha Man Blue entertains her for a while before asking what she’s actually doing here. Calls her by name despite her not telling him that. At her questioning, he says that he looks into most people he meets. He knows she’s a criminal. When she wants to know why he’s been playing along with her when he knows, he again asks what she’s doing here. She reveals her wound transference power. She wants his injuries. She gets to ‘feed,’ and he gets less pain. He rejects this and kicks her out

- She keeps coming back. She might not have been sent from Hell, but she will haunt him. Robert—that’s his name—grows tolerant of this frequent intruder in his apartment. He doesn’t have many rules: don’t break anything, no drugs, clean up your messes, no crime. She follows those rules, staying longer and longer

- And bringing stuff—like her plants—because “don’t break anything” isn’t a real rule until there’s things to break

- Robert comes back one day halfway to death. He really is going to die, actually, so Malevola ignores his wishes and takes his injuries. He’s grateful when he wakes up but distant. Pushing for answers, he eventually admits that he doesn’t want to get used to having his injuries disappear. He needs to toughen up and learn to endure it. Trying to respect his wishes, they agree for her to only take the big injuries (which he gets way more often than he should)

- Malevola’s spends most of her time at his place when Robert suggests Narcotics Anonymous to her. Once she’s clean, she can move in properly and come help him fight crime. He says it jokingly, but she takes it seriously. It isn’t easy since she’s relied on drugs for so long, but she has a goal now, and though Robert isn’t an official sponsor, his help goes a long way

- After getting clean, she does start helping Robert out. The crowds she used to run around with are surprised to see her with Mecha Man… at least until they see him fight outside his suit. They start calling him her hellhound. She sometimes calls him that, too, much to his “annoyance”

- NA reaches out to Malevola about being a sponsor to a “peculiar case.” A microaggression against non-humans, she supposes, but that just makes her want to take the case on more. Robert encourages her, so that’s how Victor/Sonar comes into their lives

- The Phoenix Program comes up. Malevola considers it. If she becomes a proper hero, she can actually start working with Robert. She won’t have to hide anymore. It’s never bothered her before, but she wants to go out with Robert to normal places

- With his permission, Malevola signs herself and Sonar up for the program. It isn’t easy being villains in a hero’s world and non-humans in a human’s world, but they make it work

- And then Robert disappears. Malevola finds out about the crash. With a portal, she manages to see Robert. Takes as many of his injuries as she can, but he’s still comatose. She visits him as often as she can, maintaining her job and hunting the Red Ring and searching for the Astral Pulse

- When Robert wakes up and has more-or-less stabilized, she finally asks him out on a proper date. She’d been hesitant before because she likes what they have, but his life is too short for her not to risk it all

The basic plot I have outlined goes like this:

A few years after the Epilogue, Luz dies during a huge disaster on the Boiling Isles. The Left Arm starts to slowly fall, and Luz uses her Titan Form to save as many people as possible, burning out her Magic to save every single person living on the Arm. She dies surrounded by her friends and family, and stringbean turns to wood as she dies.

She wakes up in Hell looking like a witch version of her human self, with stringbean, and after one of the nicer sinners explains what happened she is forced to deal with her new life.

She eventually builds herself a cabin outside the city, on a cliff overlooking a lake of boiling blood, in the middle of a razor tree forest. She says its nostalgic. Its basically her own little Owl House.

One day she saves a brand new sinner from a mugging and takes them to her home, and this keeps happening until she has built a little community for herself.

It keeps growing, and one day the Extermination happens. Luz manages to fight off the pair of Exorcists that find the community, and more people flock to her from the notoriety it gains her. She feels guilty anyone at all died, but others see it as a monumental achievement.

Eventually people grow distrusting of her generosity, and to smooth over their paranoia she is convinced to tell them that to have her protection they need to sell her their souls. Its heavily skewed im favor of the sinners, but nobody comments on that.

Eventually her little community grows and becomes a Town, and eventually gains a name. Luz is known as the Titan Witch (she can still use her Titan Form, and calls it that), so the town starts getting called The Titan Witches Haven. This then gets shortened to Titanhaven.

The main plot would revolve around Luz growing in power as a Fledgling Overlord, and dealing with another Overlord who has a bone to pick with her.

A certain gooey witch hunter Overlord, who ended up in Hell long before her, and had grown into Power on a basis of religious nutjobs who believed that God sent them to Hell to fulfill a divine purpose.

I also have some ideas about how much Heaven knows about the demon realm, and how the Exorcists would react to two of their soldiers being driven away by a single sinner. That's for later story arcs to cover though.

That's most of what I have so far, but I'm not confident that I could actually write the fic to a satisfactory level. I may try one day, but for now its just a fun thought experiment.

There is a reason for it, and while the full context is a bit of a spoiler, I will say this: Heaven Hates Titans.

I'm also considering whether the Demon Realm is another universe or not, and whether it would have its own afterlife or not.

I'm leaning towards no, cause Belos and Luz both died in the Demon Realm and ended up in Hell, and it opens up possibilities for other characters or elements of the Owl House to cross over with Hazbin Hotel, so I'm probably going to end up with a "Demon Realm is within the same universe but seperated somehow" kinda thing.

There have been a few Hazbin Hotel x Owl House fanfics that I've seen before, but almost all of them are set during the events of the Show, long after Luz or whoever they dropped into Hell has established themselves.

Look, I generally don't write fanfiction. I read a hell of a lot of it, but I don't write it. That said, this showed up almost complete in a dream, and I woke up just before I hit the publish button, so...

Jack Fenton had a ... complicated relationship with his family. He knew that his father was once The Flash, and he knew that his father had to give up his connection to the Speedforce due to something called the Black Flash. His Dad never went into details, but what Jack knew was this: the Black Flash was some form of ghost that hunted his father whenever Dad got fast enough, and 'fast enough' kept getting slower and slower, until one day Dad was doing chores around the house and that was enough to put him within arms reach of Baby Jack. After that, Dad found a way to sever his connection to the SpeedForce and retired the Flash, letting some time travelling kid from the future take up the role. Whatever. He had his Dad. But... he just couldn't stand the way his father would look at him sometimes! It felt like Dad was blaming HIM for every person who died because Dad was no longer the Fastest Man Alive. In a search for identity away from that, he went to the gym, if he was built like a brick wall instead of a speedster, maybe that would help?

Then he met Maddie Waller in University, smart, driven, everything he ever wanted... and his Dad said Absolutely NOT, not Amanda Waller's daughter, son you don't know what you're doing! And that was that. When they got married, he went back to a grandmother's maiden name, a new start for both of them.

Now this isn't so bad for them danny gets a safe warm place to live and bruce gets what is basically the cloak of levitation plus the ability to hide in shadows (literally) and the presence of an eldritch entity

Unfortunately said entity is apparently a mother hen to rival Alfred (Alfred makes sure to take care washing the cloak afrer learning this)

Side note he can still eat while in the cloak the family find this out after bruce comes to dinner still wearing the cape and it latches over the dinner about a minute later it retracts leaving a empty plate

Someone down the the cave working on some tech, 'hey Alfred could you pass - thanks' and not realising Danny's hovering over their shoulder handing them things. Play tugging with Titus and getting drool all over batmans Cape. Alfred pointing firmly at a tub of soapy water like 'I'll not have you drag filth all over this house Mr Cape, nor will I accept master Bruce going on patrol in a stained outfit. I will not hesitate to drag you in myself.' while Danny's hiding up near the ceiling. Robin trying to get away with petting the cape without b noticing he's being patted, but Danny Cape keeps purring and giving it away.

Everyone being like 'aw cute mascot' until one of them gets injured and Danny makes very, VERY good use of being kevlar lined fabric by turning into a whirlpool of death, temperature plummeting and hairs raising.

Danny finally escaping to realise he's got his own, identical cape attached to his costume, and that the time he spent in the cape turned it mildly sentient Fenton hot dog style, so now the bats have a little pet cloak with much the same capabilities and temperament. Everyone demands Danny pay child support by coming for tea and visiting as often as he can.

you think Superman’s cape dramatically flutters in the wind for no reason? That’s 100% Danielle being dramatic as hell.

The JL and the Batkids would tease both of them relentlessly that both of their capes are seemingly great friends. The capes sometimes just kinda ribbon dance flit and twirl around each other in mesmering patterns to chase each other around. Maybe it’s a form of tag, maybe they’re just goofing around. Either way it’s surprisingly adorable for a bunch of fabric.

flour sack emotion sketches. It could easily be shifted to a flatter object but I have a firm belief that when Danny isn’t being worn by Bruce, he’s super expressive and emotive because that’s the only form of communication he really has. He also can bundle himself up into a simple shape or sign.

Like bundling himself into a question mark, a check mark, maybe he folds himself until he resembles a simple lightning bolt and zips around behind Wally as a way to have fun.

An additional idea that I just had: There’s only so much cloth he can use but if he could make the cloth rigid and fold himself like origami into animals or flowers or anything else you can craft with origami.

Jason is so fucking confused. Just sits there blankly for a bit. Once he is fully calm, and he can't feel the pit anymore. Just looks at the cape and blinks a few timea.

Jason: B, I think your cape just are the pit madness. What the fuck!

They are both gibbering in a language no one understands (ghost speak? Esperanto?) Danny looking like goth Aladdin’s Carpet, and Ellie looking like a venom symbiote, but shaped like a little girl, pigtail and all. “Lol, your jacket is a girl” “Shut up, my jacket is gender-fluid. Literally”

Jason is having a brothers day out with Dick. The once a month they let the other in on their inner most thoughts.

“So any thoughts of dating?” Dick asked, setting a beer in front of Jason before sitting with his own.

Jason snorts, “An alpha wouldn’t want me.”

“Come on Little Wing,” Dick insists, “a traditional alpha would like the fact you cook and take care of kids well. A non traditional alpha would love your independence and resourcefulness. What’s not to like about you!”

“No alpha wants an omega that can break them in half.”

900 miles away Danny Fenton sits at Nasty Burger with his friends. He was the only alpha in Amity Park that weighed 180 pounds soaking wet.

“Look, there might be someone outside of this small town that likes small alphas,” Sam tries to point out.

“Yeah,” Tucker backs her up, “statistically you’ll find a better match in a global city like New York or Gotham.”

“See!” She exclaims, “already looking at the bright side! We’ll help you pack, set up a dating profile, and plan rogue attack escape routes.”

And so Dick just kinda pushes right into Jason's space and swipes right for him which probably leads to a bunch of shouting and wrestling on the ground.

Meanwhile Danny has been getting absolutely zero attention on the dating app and then this absolute unit of a omega, and I mean just this jacked omega, like, the hottest omega on the planet to him, I mean this guy is better than anything he could have dreamed off.

Has apparently swiped right on him, and that's clearly a mistake right? or some prank maybe?

Until he sees Tucker's reaction who clearly looks seriously apprehensive. And then Sam is like, "don't pay attention to him" while Tucker is quickly schooling himself and apologizing.

“What the hell was that? He finally, finally! Goes on a date, and you’re face couldn’t look anymore sour then if you drank lime and pickle juice!”

“Come on Sam, even you have to admit that was an obvious catfish!” Tucker yells back while checking on his arm.

“What the fuck are you talking about?”

“The guy he matched with doesn’t exist! At least not anymore! Don’t you remember the case! The guys name itself was a red flag!”

“I have no idea what you’re going on about.”

Tucker looked at her incredulously, “have you not listened to any of the true crime podcasts I’ve recommended on my blog?”

Sam crossed her arms and just starred at him.

“You haven’t even read my blog have you?”

“I’ve been busy,” Sam defended.

“We’re literally roommates you have not been busy!”

“It doesn’t matter,” Sam said putting her arms up in defeat, “what happened there connects to the guy our Danny is going on a date with?”

“Eight years ago Bruce Wayne adopted a boy. A son who likes everything listed on that guy’s profile. Pride and Prejudice, neapolitan ice cream, and favorite color green,” Tucker says as her takes out his phone and starts typing quickly.

“Okay?” Sam says, “what does that have to do with anything?”

“That boy died, four years ago, officially, in Ethiopia. I’ve seen the morgue papers myself. It’s one of the biggest cover ups this century. And his name was Jason Todd,” he turned his phone around to show a picture of a boy. And Sam paused. While this photo was of a teenage boy, it definitely was the same face as the profile Danny showed them a an hour ago. Just more baby fat.

“Holy fuck Danny’s in trouble.”

Breaking driving laws wasn’t something Sam did often in Gotham. Especially this close to night time but her friend was in trouble.

“They aren’t supposed to be at the restaurant for another twenty minutes. We could stake out on the roof-”

“-and risk a bat seeing us-” Sam interrupts.

“-They’ll understand when we tell them, they probably think Todd’s death is also fishy and wouldn’t like a man pretending to be him.”

Thankfully there was an apartment building across the street, with still attached fire escape. It still creaked though.

“Man I fucking hate this,” Tucker says, “how the hell do these not crumble under Batman or Red Hood’s weight fuck”

“Your idea,” Sam says, smirking at Tucker’s yeah I know.

Sitting at the roof’s edge wasn’t comfortable but anything for their friend, anything was worth it.

It was freezing but they didn’t have to wait long for the motorcycle that was as on the guy’s profile to park outside the restaurant.

Sam slapped Tucker’s arm to get him out of his phone and conspiracy boards, “he’s here.”

They watched as he set up the kickstand. The guy was as bulky as the photos were, so Tucker was thinking maybe Jason’s face photo shopped on the real guy’s body.

The guy took off his gloves and shoved them in his side bag. Before closing the bag back up he took out flowers, red spider lilies. Danny’s favorite.

“That’s actually sweet,” Tucker remarks then avoids Sam’s glare.

When the guy reaches for the strap of his helmet, Tucker gets his camera ready. But he doesn’t snap a picture because he’s frozen in shock.

Standing on that sidewalk was the same face from the profile. Only his green eyes glowed when in the flesh. Like Danny’s did.

“Holy shit,” Tucker says, “holy shit Jason Todd’s like Danny.”

“He’s like Danny,” Sam repeats in astonishment.

They both look at each other then start smiling, “he’s perfect!”

They started celebrating by hugging and jumping around, “Danny’s got a soulmate!”

They were shaking each other back and forth by their shoulders when they heard screaming from below.

So probably Jason expects to be the one to say princess carry his slightly shorter and much thinner alpha, to be the one who is large and in charge and do all the "strong manly" things one would normally expect an alpha to do for an omega.

Big, buff, grizzled Jason did not expect to get picked up like a princess.

Him being princess carried is Pride & Prejudice level, Sense and Sensibility core, Princess Bride dream.

And because I've been infected with Unidentified on Main, Wes is a liminal with the gift of prophecy and a conspiracy board. He's also a Beta. A very lanky Beta that's also often confused for an Omega.

I'd think that ghost bodies embody how they perceive themselves and what they need. Like Cujo's flip between the biggest meanest scariest dog ever!!! to wittle baby puppy~ is such a dog mindset.

So if they are a ghost that had died and had identified as a different gender I think their ghost form would match it. Omega trapped in an alpha body? Fully omega now. Man trapped in a woman's body? Machoest man alive in existence. No gender? No problem! Null and void, gender has been unsubscribed from your current model. Change whenever you wish.

Ok so like we're so deep into fandom that canon is a very distant star here.... I do think that ghost omega are bigger out of necessity. I think this could be because they are the lair's defenders, because they might brood on their graves/nests, that they need to carry the developing cores until they've hardened and so need more "physical" mass, and maybe because they are able to store excess ecto to transfer as a food source for cores and ghostlings.

On the flip I think alpha ghosts move about more, resource searching for foods/lair fortitudes/grave comforts/soul mate obsession items. I think they'd mark haunt/territory lines like birds do with loud sounds or energy projects and chase out invaders. I think they'd produce more ecto to cover the cost of the projecting and because they'll donate to the omega's stores.

I'd also say that their natural haunts are smaller or simply just a lair that they will move because they'll merge with their omega's established territory. Which could be energy consuming. Omega are more territorial over haunt lair and grave while alphas are more protective of their fraids and will move the whole set up if their fraid or soul mate deems it an unsafe area.

So when a ghost becomes injured, they have a last ditch defense where they retreat into their core. And I mean, injured badly where their body is rip apart to the point they can’t hold a solid form anymore. And they basically go into a hibernation state until they are strong enough to form again.

Ellie, Danny, and Dan are all injured in a final battle against the GIW. The organization was destroyed and the ghosts were safe but the halfas ended up being so injured that they reverted to core form and then went to sleep for a bit. When they woke up, they were still weak but at least recovered enough to gain consciousness. And realize…they are in some kind of auction…in the middle of a heist. It appeared that two furries (one in a bat costume and one in a cat costume) were ducking it out. And they…they were a necklace. All three of them had been turned into a necklace with their cores as gems accompanied by sapphires, pearls, and opals. And frankly gorgeous craftsmanship as the metal was crafted around their cores as if to cradle them and the other gems.

Unfortunately, they were too weak to take a form properly, they could still feel the strain on their bodies. But at least they could still communicate through their auras. Then the cat lady punched a hole in the glass container surrounding them and grabbed their necklace.

However, the bat grabbed the other end and it resulted in a sort of tug-a-war. Meanwhile, Danny, Ellie, and Dan were having a back and form commentary on the situation and what they should do. Completely unheard by the other party.

In the corner of their eye, the three halfas finally noticed a third contender. Some kind of clown who was…hold on…holding a gun?! And it was pointed straight at the two fighting furies who had yet to notice him. The ghosts’ protective instincts went into overdrive and they frantically tried to shout, yell, move. Just do something to warn the two but their cries fell on deaf ears. All they succeeded in doing was faintly glow which immediatly caught the attention of the fighting duo. The two turned to look at the strange necklace but right at that moment, the clown fired and a gunshot rang throughout the auction room. Having no other options, Danny and the others poured every ounce of ectoplasm they had to try and phaseshift, making the two furries intangible as the bullets passed right through them, but in their shock, the two jumped away in opposite directions and accidentally ripped the necklace apart. Gems and pearls went flying and the three cores bounced along the ground.

Luckily, the two finally noticed the clown and went to deal with him and his minions who had appeared. Seemingly putting their fight on hold and forming a temporary truce. The three halfas could only watch as the battle finally wound down, ending with the cops barging into the place and arresting the clown and his grunts, the cat managing to escape with half the scattered gems and pearls from the broken necklace along with a few other jewelry pieces (none of their cores though) and the bat leaving through a skylight.

The auction continued and in the end, despite being broken, their necklace seemed to have caught someone’s interest. A man named Bruce Wayne bought up every piece of the shattered jewelry wear. The auctioneers appeared relived that the item managed to sell in the end and gratefully gave it to him.

#Bruce thinks the necklace is magical. He’s technically not wrong.

#When he gets home he immediately puts each gem in a glass container to examine them. For the longest time though nothing happens.

#They all look like normal gems except for the main three of the piece. He can’t identify what kind of gem they are.

#The gems are perfect spheres with various shades of blue (with hints of green and white) swirling around.

#The colors almost look like they are moving in slow motion. Still. Nothing happens as he examines them and no strange events happen.

#That is until one day he decided to take the gems to be examined by a professional and a villain attacked.

#A piece of building was about to crush him when a wall of ice appeared as a shield over him. After that he took them back to the cave.

#Bruce looks up thousands of documents about enchanted necklaces and artifacts but finds nothing. He even calls in favors from JLD.

#Zatanna doesn’t recognize them but feels some kind of power coming off the gems however it doesn’t feel malevolent (at least for 2 of them)

#(The last gem is neutral.) Also Constantine was unavailable (*cough* hiding from responsibilities *cough*)

#The other bats get interested in the gems. Tim has a theory that they are some kind of protective charms. Damian agrees.

#(Everyone is shocked Tim and Damian agree on something). So while Bruce is continuing his investigation the other bats decide to do some

#‘Field testing’ and take the gems out. Consequently the gems end up saving their lives and they discover a few things they can do like make

#The wearer invisible. Intangible. Create green barriers/constructs. Create ice. Vibrate when an enemy is coming. And much more.

#The bats fashion them into new individual bracelets/necklaces and think they are the coolest thing. They have powered up protective charms!

#The halfas just wish these kids would STOP PUTTING THEIR LIVES IN DANGER! What are they MORONS?!

#Most of the ectoplasms they recover is used to protect the bats and nearby civilians.

#(Dan also trolls people and is mostly protective his siblings though)

#People notice the new power ups. A rogue gets his hands on a gem and tries to use it ONCE to attack something but the gems didn’t respond.

#Then it froze the rogue’s legs to the ground.

#Much time later the gems are swapped between the bats and alternated and have just become a new item in their belt

#(batman was not pleased but eventually got used to it and begrudgingly accepted that they were useful. Especially when they save his kids)

#They come to a Justice league meeting and Constantine finally sees them.

#His mouth drops in shock and he frantically asks where they got GHOST CORES?! And this is when the bats finally realise what they have.

#And are horrified to realize EXACTLY what they are holding and that these ‘gems’ were technically ALIVE.

I fucking love this idea but you know what i love more?

he only knows that they feel somewhat protective and you wanna know WHY he doesn’t know shit?

It's because he drew the attention of the realms one time just to figure out what they are and after that encounter he looked high and low on how not to draw attention from the realms to himself.

He still has nightmares of boxes

and so he only knows that those ‘Gems’ feel somewhat protective.

so we have the Dannies going through a few more months of growing Exhousted. Each day more and more convinced that they will End. they start to lose hope. The bats wont even notice what they have done, they just think that the magic fizzled out, came to a stop and then the bat will forget all about those gems because they weren't useful anymore BUT THEN.

A big JL Meeting with JL Dark, Young Justice, the Outlaws and pretty much everyone else. The Gotham vigilantes bring up the core, The JL Dark are debating (Read: fighting) on what those gems actually are. Even deadman knows bullshit about it; he might be a ghost but he's mostly magic.

Everyone else is having fun watching them fight. Free entertainment right? Nobody is worried the slightest bit about those gems because even if the magic users are debating they do agree that the gems feel non malevolent, even protective, it's safe and with the stories the bats told there is nothing to worry about, not a single person is worried.

because as the Champion Of Magic he meant to keep the balance of magic and magic is connected to a lot of stuff. He knows a lot of realms and their respective laws and cultures, rulers like kings and Queens.

He knows the difference in biology

He knows that those are cores

He knows about the infinite realms, about the tyrant King that got locked away, the new Crown Prince

how the crown prince is nice, caring and kind 

and how the prince fought the king to protect his people even though he could have ended himself with that fight. 

so obviously the prince cares about his people

He also knows that if what the bats are saying about the field tests is true (and knowing them it probably is) 

that this is going to be a shit show

He swallows hard. He breaks character for just a second. He knows how to communicate with cores. He learnt it on a whim once because he learned not everyone can learn it and learning how to in the middle of a fight is probably going to be difficult. trust him he did it before

so he focused on the task at hand and carefully reached out with his infinite realms aura, a simple greeting will be good enough hopefully?

two of the cores' auras pulsed nudging his aura towards the third and weakest of them. He knew what they were asking for

he didn't have a lot of it and he didn't know if magic could help

the two cores auras stated to buzz probably communicating with one another until one core pulsed and gave the impression of him giving ectoplasmic energy and then mixing it with magic until only magic was left 

billy relaxed he hadn't even noticed that he got so tense

He focused on the present again. It looked like nobody noticed him “spacing out” and were still distracted by the so-called debate that admittedly had gotten way more heated while he was distracted.

He picked the weakest core up from the table and turned it around in his hand. It truly looked like a gem if you didn't know what to look for.

He loosely closed his hand around the core and focused on giving it energy.

He knew what it looked like to give ecto. his eyes would start to glow a sickly green. His hand glowing the very same color and buzzing slightly its not a dramatic as magic where the air stated to smell like ozone and small lightning arcing of him

had billy actually been a thousands of years old demi-god like he pretending to be instead of a 13 year old boy with gods in his head trying to do his best. he would have known that giving ecto and magic to a core while surrounded with hypervigilant heroes wasn't the best idea.

the shout cut thru the room like a gunschot

With only a single person's panicked shout the entire group exploded into motion chairs scraping and falling weapons being drawn, multiple people took to the air.

It was muscle memory. Everyone was ready for a fight waiting for the first attack and that feeling was only cemented after they saw the eyes of their friend

Glowing Lazarus green eyes.

Eyes that meant mindless death and destruction. Madness with no direction so it was directed at other people. Lazarus Green eyes that were on their Kindest member.

Captain Marvel didn't move. He didn't growl or glare. Didn't start to shake from barely contained rage like the usual signs of pit rage he just sat there looking at the gem.

Nobody moved 

No one dared to even Breath to loudly

“Cap?” flash asked softly it sounded louder than intended in the silent room. 

It earned him several glares.

A crackle cut through the silence, small Lightning arcs started around Marvel's hands growing bigger by the second The Room tensed and focused on marvel preparing themself to fight

because if cap goes apeshit there will be no walking away

and jet strangely enough Marvel's eyes were starting to glow more gold and less green by the second 

it was seeping thru slowly but it did

not a single person could believe what they were seeing 

Captain Marvel was fighting the effect of the Gems

within a few seconds caps eyes were completely gold 

Captain Marvel fought the effects of pit madness.

Marvel exhaled and slumped back in his chair opening his hand to stare at the now glowing gem  

"You're okay?" Hal asked carefully as he landed on the ground

“WHAT THE BLOODY FUCK MATE?” Constantine yelled at Marvel looking way more stressed then they have ever seen him. in fact every magic user looke- “why did you give the gem magic?” Raven asked bluntly

and then several panicked and confused yells cut thru it

“QUIETE” Batmans voice cut thru the panic shutting everyone up

“Now,” Batmans said with his usual growl but taking on that undertone that everyone always dreaded “Everyone sit down we will talk about this like ADULTS”

Billy Knew what this looked like, every hero of Earth sitting in a meeting room, everyone with concerned, anxious or serious expressions.   

Billy knows his reputation as Captain Marvel, as the powerhouse of a hero who always has a smile, the one to give a smile filled with hope even in the darkest of moments. 

but he isn’t smiling right now. A serious face and he's having a staring contest with batman and if anyone knows how much of a hardass he is then it's the justice league. 

yeah no wonder they all seem concerned and anxious.   

“Captain Marvel.” Batman's dark voice said, it does really sound like a growl sometimes.

Batman sighed and pinched his nose between his fingers like an annoyed parent, which doesn't work on Billy because he's Captain Marvel right now and Captain Marvel is a thousands of years old demigod. 

Wonder Woman Ever the diplomat cuts in before Batman can explode “Captain we have a right to be worried, your eyes were lazarus green and then you gave magic to the Gem.“ 

Billy Sighed and nodded. he was annoyed that they didn't trust him on it considering that he clearly knew more on the topic but he had to play nice

“dude, we all know that pit rage is dangerous but giving the gem magic to make it back off is so stupid.” Hal groaned

Flash stared at the now glowing core “a gem that causes pit madness and now has magic. This is a nightmare.”

“You think that I gave the gem magic out of desperation and not out of full knowledge on what to do.”

He glanced at the faces they pulled, oohhh yeah each thing he just said landed perfectly the doubt, the uncertainty he was pulling this very old demi god disguise amazingly.

“I was in full control of my body and mind.” he said calmly “ i knew exactly what i was doing.”

“So what I'm hearing is that you gave the bloody pit Gem magic for shits and giggles.” Constantine said like he couldn't believe what he was hearing

Billy looked around the room making eye contact with each Gotham vigilante.

“You, of all people, are always the one to lecture everyone else not to mess with things they don't understand. You lead by example, if you can't understand something, you leave it alone.”

When the bats look confused Marvel points to the ‘gems’ and reveals that they are ghost cores. You see there is a magical dimension that connects every multiverse and timeline. The ‘glue’ of our universe. It is called the infinite realms.

The natural inhabitants of these realms are made of pure energy. When injured to the point they are on the verge of death, they contort and revert to a small core. And orb. A personification of their very soul, unable to move or do anything until they recover enough of what is essentually their life force and regain a physical form. These beings are not inherently good or bad, just like people. But there are some, a few bleeding hearts that will expend what little energy they’ve managed to recover to protect those around them. Causing them to die a slow, painful death, until there is nothing left at all.

What you have here are three ghost cores. Each one is ALIVE. And not only have they been using them and deliberately expending their lifeforce while keeping them in a trapped and vulnerable state, but they have been doing so for months.
