I need help on how to approach this situation and maybe I over reacted? Idk. Usually I’m calm in situations but this really hit me hard.

So I was on a trip with my friends, no tech, completely unplugged. Very far from civilization. It was for a few weeks. We did have a satellite phone for any emergencies.

When I returned from the trip, a local news paper had my brother’s death on the front page. It was devastating. My friends held me as I sobbed my heart out.

Turns out he was buried within the three weeks I was gone. I had missed his funeral. My baby brother’s funeral. I’m actively crying as I type this. It hurts. He’s gone. I always expect him to be in the library reading away at our family books. I keep wanting to call out to him when dinner is ready. I can’t ride my motorcycle anymore. Before I went on my trip I had taught him how to drive it.

Now this is the part I might have over reacted.

My dad didn’t tell me about my brother’s death. In fact when I confronted him, all he told me was everyone was asking where I was. As if he didn’t have a phone to call me to tell me. As if he didn’t have my location and couldn’t have sent one of his friends on a highspeed jet to pick me up.

So I kinda punched him a few times and told him I’m not speaking with him anymore. I’m not one to usually solve my problems like that. Did I overreact by punching my dad?

I would have completely cut him off and live full time in my apartment but I can’t do that to my grandfather that still lives with us. He was under the impression I was told. He was frosty with me until he found out I wasn’t in fact told

Yes the satellite phones we have are Wayne tech and very reliable on the distance I was away from civilization. It was important but he has been informed if any emergencies popped up that my friends would be able to handle it.

So a satellite phone works as it sounds. Phone that uses satellites instead of cell towers. Used specifically in areas where there’s a dead zone. Only thing that would stop a satellite phone from receiving or making calls is being dead, not out in the open, and stormy weather.

without giving away too much, from what I can gather from my grandfather, he has gone on a drastic depression spiral. But my father has drilled it into me that even in the worst moment of your life you have to keep a strong head so I’m feeling a little bitter about that but not gonna call him a hypocrite over it. We’ve both suffered death of friends and kept a level head so I know he can do that. But it was a death of a family member, my brother, his second son, so as much as I hate that about the situation, I’m not gonna hold that against him.

So I was on a trip with my friends, no tech, completely unplugged. Very far from civilization. It was for a few weeks. We did have a satellite phone for any emergencies.

When I returned from the trip, a local news paper had my brother’s death on the front page. It was devastating. My friends held me as I sobbed my heart out.

Turns out he was buried within the three weeks I was gone. I had missed his funeral. My baby brother’s funeral. I’m actively crying as I type this. It hurts. He’s gone. I always expect him to be in the library reading away at our family books. I keep wanting to call out to him when dinner is ready. I can’t ride my motorcycle anymore. Before I went on my trip I had taught him how to drive it.

Now this is the part I might have over reacted.

My dad didn’t tell me about my brother’s death. In fact when I confronted him, all he told me was everyone was asking where I was. As if he didn’t have a phone to call me to tell me. As if he didn’t have my location and couldn’t have sent one of his friends on a highspeed jet to pick me up.

So I kinda punched him a few times and told him I’m not speaking with him anymore. I’m not one to usually solve my problems like that. Did I overreact by punching my dad?

I’m sorry that happened to you but no I don’t think you overreacted. He kept the fact you’re brother fucking DIED from you that’s grounds for completely cutting contact and leaving that house

I would have completely cut him off and live full time in my apartment but I can’t do that to my grandfather that still lives with us. He was under the impression I was told. He was frosty with me until he found out I wasn’t in fact told

Yes the satellite phones we have are Wayne tech and very reliable on the distance I was away from civilization. It was important but he has been informed if any emergencies popped up that my friends would be able to handle it.

So a satellite phone works as it sounds. Phone that uses satellites instead of cell towers. Used specifically in areas where there’s a dead zone. Only thing that would stop a satellite phone from receiving or making calls is being dead, not out in the open, and stormy weather.

without giving away too much, from what I can gather from my grandfather, he has gone on a drastic depression spiral. But my father has drilled it into me that even in the worst moment of your life you have to keep a strong head so I’m feeling a little bitter about that but not gonna call him a hypocrite over it. We’ve both suffered death of friends and kept a level head so I know he can do that. But it was a death of a family member, my brother, his second son, so as much as I hate that about the situation, I’m not gonna hold that against him.

“Maybe he’s confessed to Superman and Wonder Woman,” Cassandra suggested.

Alfred hummed as he did some light dusting at the shelves, “At most I know he’s not working on a case. For once he willingly hands them over to you all.” He stopped to think for a moment, “It wouldn’t surprise me that he has started a new relationship.”

Duke does a spit take when he sees the news of some graduation ceremony, “Uh, guys?” He pointed at the TV and there was Bruce, in a cap and gown receiving his PhD.
