“Math is blue”
“Math is red”
Math fucking SUCKS
Said it once and I'll say it again! Math is yellow people!
Yellow is P.E how the fuck
PE is like, white or gray to me, but I can accept yellow.
Math is yellow though, no debate on that one.
English is red and blue is likeeeee geography or something, maybe french
YELLOW IS HUMANITIES
BUT THERE ARE MULTIPLE SUBJECTS IN HUMANITIES? EACH ONE HAS ITS COLOUR NO???
OK SO OVERALL HUMANITIES IS YELLOW, BUT SOCIAL STUDIES IS GREEN AND GEOGRAPHY AND HISTORY ARE YELLOW
Isn't?? Isn't social studies history and geography anyways??
But also history is purple or dark blue and Geography is yellow or blue
no???? it’s its own subject?? math is blue, additional math and english is red
What do you take in social studies even then??
I'm glad we at least agree that English is red
Math is yellow definitely but if I had to pick between red and blue it's blue. Perhaps we could compromise on cyan?
Opinion on monkeys?
Yeah… I GUESS you could say I’m a fan
"shipping and blorbofication are not inherently at odds with understanding a story's deep themes" and "some people can't grasp the themes of a story because they never learned how to engage with stories outside of the lens of shipping and blorbofication" are two statements that can coexist
blorbofication to me is when you love a character in such a laser focus way that you somewhat detach them from the narrative from which they are inserted and treat them in a way roughly similar to how you'd treat an oc for which you still have no story and just like to put them in situations just for fun. which there's nothing wrong with btw, it's just that it can easily lead to people forgetting the character engine in a narrative and not just a barbie doll
as an example of blorbofication taken to the extreme without the acknowledgement of the story context to ground it please refer to the thomas jefferson miku binder

Happy find the key stop the Kraang day to all who celebrate
i turned on the light in the dining room but Tubby had been sleeping in a chair and it woke her up and she was Not Pleased
yes
however we recently got her a new ceramic fountain that better suits her aesthetic
and her own fainting couch
but she still prefers a good lap whenever possible
@unpretty what is Ms. Tubby’s full name if it is not Tubby?
Tubbitha
reblog for Tubbitha
a princess.
It’s so fucking weird to see Tubby on my dash from just like a random unrelated blog I follow. That’s just my best friends’ cat. I commissioned a plate painted with her likeness.

CLOTTCIER COSTUMES!!!!! Not only that they also share:
The card art
Signature styles
Emblems styles (also in the same place, on their hearts)
Financier's hair accessory is Clotted's ribbon from his default design
Me because the lovely comics on tumblr are usually incomplete and take a long time to update but they're so good and I keep getting into them so I just suffer
I should stick to my complete fanfic bubble but I can't help it I love them
'A popular fanfic author stopped updating her fic because she said that the stress of being constantly falsely accused of using AI was a witch hunt and it was destroying her mental health to the extent that she needed to take a break from writing, leading to multiple online discussions defending her and debates about AI accusations and how You Can't Really Tell So Leave Her Alone, and then someone realised that there were Claude coding artefacts in her fics and that it was a super pervasive problem in that particular fandom, proven definitively by looking at the source coding of each work on AO3, and she denied it for a bit but then ultimately admitted that oopsie, she had been using genAI all along, and then she deleted all of her fics off AO3 and people got mad because they were being denied access to their favourite fics, even though they now knew definitively that they were genAI slop, and then it turned out that she'd actually stopped updating the fic on AO3 in the first place because she'd been shopping it around to agents and editors as an original work with the serial numbers filed off, and she'd been in conversations with a publisher which ultimately got dropped because she'd lied to them about her AI use' oh cool, so we're in Hell, then
If people liked the fics, they don’t get to complain that the fics weren’t good after all. Don’t call it slop when you’re eating from the trough.
Multiple things wrong with the previous statement actually, I'm basing this off of what I heard about the situation so correct me if I'm wrong but
1) the only reason the fics were good Is because she had beta editors who edited the ai bullcrap in order to sound human and good (apparently the editors were concerned cause it didn't sound like her normal good writing, slop or not hm?)
2) let's say that somehow the ai wrote a good fic, that somehow captures actual human emotions and writes human anatomy well etc, somehow. People are not just upset that the fic is ai just because "it's not good anymore" it's because they were deceived. The author said she was anti-ai so they went in with the understanding that they're not supporting ai by enjoying this fic. She lied, deceived both her editors and readers.
3) again, the problem wasn't just people calling it bad. Ai has actual real word effects, ones that shouldn't need to be spelled out, but if you want to keep draining our water supply and adding onto climate change then be my guest and keep reading the bot made bs. Not to mention that this isn't a solely fanfiction problem and gen ai is a disease in many areas that should be for creatives to have fun and connect and express themselves. So no. The only risk is not that "the fanfic is complete ass"
(also not that it matters that much, but I'm pretty sure it did relate to money and status, correct me if I'm wrong, but she wanted to get into trad publishing from her fanfic writing)
Now I ask you, if you went to a restaurant and were served lazy sloppy food made by ingredients that harm the environment to gather, and that you're generally against, but it was spiced up to seem more delicious. When you find out, will you still excuse that oh well you enjoyed it when you had it so you can't complain? Or would you be, reasonably, upset?
It’s called Taco Bell.
Let me try this again.
If you go into a fanfiction website, such as ao3, where you are expecting fanfiction (aka made BY fans)
You click on a fanfic, by an author, who has claimed that they are against ai, so you go in with the assumption that this fanfic is not ai (not using proper tags, and also lying. Can I add that there is a reason that opal was hiding it for so long? And denying it? And that there is a reason people were so pissed when people accused her of ai? Because it's a bad thing.)
So you were advertised something and you consumed it. Based on the knowledge you had. Turns out you were deceived.
You were told that the food was high quality, and you believed that. You'd feel betrayed finding out it was not. Let's not say it's okay just because it's "normal"
You can try and argue that any consumption is unethical, sure, but there is a reason people attempt to limit that, in a world where it may be unavoidable apparently, like you're saying. We don't need more of that, especially not in creative spaces, let alone in this way.
At least with your example, you knew it was shit before you went in and paid.
But on AO3, you get banned if you make people pay for fanfiction. Everything is free, and nothing is at stake.
If this person was shitty to their beta readers, that’s a separate issue.
I'm struggling to see how ao3 being free makes this any better? That's just how it works, it's free, by fans for fans, etc etc
Listen while I don't agree with it, I think ai bullshit writing doesn't belong in fandom spaces, or at all because it's so ultimately unnecessary and harmful.
If you ARE going to do it, tag it properly, tag that it's made with ai. If you're going to cheap out and make slop, then take that audacity you used to publish ai writing and use it to admit it. If you're going to use ai for writing and claim it as yours then have the guts to say so and don't lie about it to everyone.
Opal being shitty to her beta readers is not a separate issue at all, her using ai and lying about it to her anti-ai betas is using them and that's what the shitty thing was. It's not unrelated, it's a huge part of the problem actually, she lied to her readers and her editors, and used her fans who thought she was against ai to defend her, while saying that the so called accusations and hate made her leave.
