🌙✍️ 1:39 A.M. Thoughts from the Writing Cave 💚📖
It's 1:39 in the morning, and I've been sitting here writing Azuma and Aizawa for... honestly, I don't even know how long anymore.
Time gets weird when you're writing.
One minute you're opening your laptop thinking, "I'll write one scene before bed." The next thing you know, your tea is cold, you've been staring at the same Google Doc for six hours, and your characters have somehow become more emotionally stable than you are.
Tonight was different, though.
I didn't write trauma.
I didn't throw another villain at them.
Nobody got stabbed. Nobody cried. Nobody had to save the world.
I just... let them be happy.
That felt important.
I think writers spend so much time asking, "How can I hurt my characters?" that we forget to ask, "How do they heal?" We build all this pain, all these impossible mountains, and then sometimes we forget to let our people enjoy the view after they finally climb them.
So tonight, Azuma laughed.
Shota smiled.
For a little while, the weight they'd been carrying wasn't the center of the room anymore.
And honestly?
I smiled a lot while writing.
That's probably my favorite part of this whole hobby. Every now and then a scene stops feeling like words on a page and starts feeling like you're peeking through a window. You aren't forcing the conversation anymore. You're just lucky enough to be there while it happens.
Now it's almost two in the morning.
My brain is already trying to convince me to write one more chapter. Just one breakfast scene. One conversation. One tiny little moment.
It's lying.
Because writers know "one more chapter" is the literary equivalent of saying, "I'll watch one more episode."
Next thing you know, the sun is judging your life choices.
So this is me getting off the dopamine train for the night.
The document is closed.
Azuma gets to stay happy until tomorrow.
And I get to crawl into bed knowing that, for one night at least, the people in my head found a little peace.
I think that's a pretty good place to leave them.
Goodnight, friends. 🌙💚
