Aw my biggest baby is 14 today! 🥳🎁🎈I can’t believe how quickly he’s growing up and so proud of him. He’s such an amazing boy; through all that he pushes through having Aspergers, he never waivers, works super hard towards his dream of becoming an animator and always moves forward. I’m so excited for him going into year 10 and doing his GCSE’s. He’s looking forward to his options of art, technology and iMedia. I know he’ll smash it 🏆😎 . So I’ve had some more time off to focus on today. I spent most of yesterday and last night making his cake which was a bit of a slow process because of my MS kicking of a spasticity flair up 😖 it was very painful but it was worth it to see how happy he was this morning 🥰 . he’s currently at school and I’ve tried to sleep off everything since he left, so I’m feeling less tired and sore now, just stiff. I’m just getting ready for some fun this afternoon when he and the other two returned home 🤩 . Meet: @Stacyshrinks I started my natural weightloss journey on Jan 21, 2017, at 444.1 lbs, 5'5", & 46 yo. I changed my life after a doctor told me I had beginning signs of Heart Disease. Exercise, they say. So, I went to the gym 6x/wk and pushed myself as hard as I could. At first, I could only do 5 minutes on the elliptical & tossed around 5 lb dumbells. Now, I hill climb 5 miles on the crossramp & leg press 310 lbs. You are what you eat, they say. I learned how to eat clean. I knew lean proteins, fresh veggies, and fruits were the key. I read stories & followed people on sm that offered free advice. Saving workouts people posted & integrated them daily. I've never paid for weightloss advice or workout plans, & I won't. I allow 1 cheat meal/wk & indulge on a bowl of buttered popcorn once in a while. So far I've lost 217.1 lbs & am cleared by my cardiologist! I @6months100pounds started my journey in a January. It had nothing to do with a New Years resolution but I was one of the tens of thousands who get a membership after New Years and say to themselves ENOUGH IS ENOUGH I will become a new me. Meet @melanievsg I have struggled with my weight all of my adult life. I tried countless diets and exercise programs, but could never stick to them. I would lose 20-40 pounds then give up and gain it all back. In January of 2015 I decided to take my life back into my own hands and have the gastric sleeve done. I was tired of feeling defined by my weight, and I felt like this was the tool I needed to get the weight off. Here I am 3 years later and I have lost 110 pounds. I went from a size 2X to a size Small. I never dreamed I would ever be a small. A lot of people think weightloss surgery is the easy way out, but it is absolutely not. I work so hard everyday to keep my weight off. It is a tool that helps you reach your goals and live a healthier lifestyle. Meet: @banded_mal I’m Mallory, I’m 32 years young, & I am 4 years post op with a Lapband. I have lost 125 pounds. For as long as I can remember, I was on some sort of diet. I was tired of yoyo-ing in my weight loss & being constantly disappointed. I was extremely uncomfortable & usually dealing with chronic pain. I was depressed because I was losing hope, & I just didn’t like what i saw in the mirror. After seeing 318 pounds on the scale & doing a lot of soul searching, I decided to take the plunge into weight loss surgery. I have never looked back, & I have zero regrets! Meet: @happilysara For over half of my life, I have been plagued by OCD and anxiety, as a way to cope, I turned to food. Therefore over half of my life I have also been overweight and morbidly obese. At the end of 2015, I decided I needed help. I went to counseling and was put on medication for my mental health. Then in June 2016, I was mentally prepared to lose my weight. I was done being obese. I went vegetarian, gluten free, and walked daily. (Up to 10 miles a day). My lifelong dream of moving to Colorado kept me going. My motivation came from the idea of being in Colorado with my fiance and my cats and being healthy. At the beginning of 2017 after losing 85 pounds, we started focusing our attention on moving out here. And we did in May 2017! I have maintained my weightloss and living my best life here in Colorado. My hope is to share just how important mental health and physical health need to work together. Mental health isn't something to be ashamed of, but something to work hard, along with physical health. I'm so glad I was able to take care of both to live my best life.
