This is something we as radicals donât talk about much but which has come up a lot in my experience:
You deserve mutual aid. Youâre not too privileged for it, youâre not stealing it from people who need it more - you have a right to use community resources just as much as anyone else
Iâve seen food rot, clothes and books be forgotten in storage, because the people volunteering at or supporting these projects donât think the resources are for them. Then those same volunteers will go out and put money they donât have into the capitalist system to buy the resources they couldâve gotten for free
Youâre thinking like a charity. Youâre drawing a line between the people giving resources and the people taking them, which inevitably leads to a feeling of separation and eventually superiority, unconsciously seeing yourself as a savior coming in and helping the less fortunate. That alienates the people youâre helping from you, and results in neither side fully recognizing the other as human and the same as them
Thereâs a reason we say âsolidarity not charityâ. Thereâs a reason mutual aid is called mutual. Because by lifting each other up, we all become stronger. In solidarity and mutual aid, there is no separation between giver and receiver, because everyone involved is benefited by it
But that doesnât happen if the resources arenât used! Get out of the capitalist scarcity mindset - give freely and take freely, because by being lifted up you help us all
And I mean, this is largely because the charity mindset is so entrenched in our society. In the neoliberal world, our major mental map for âhow to help poor or marginalized peopleâ is for a rich person to appear, hand out largesse, and go home again. People literally think that the âbest charitiesâ are the ones with the lowest overhead costs, because we assume that people who work for charities are wealthy and can afford to volunteer or accept a pittance. Itâs not like people who work to make the world better need actual substantive help to feed themselves; theyâre just wealthy people practicing noblesse oblige. (Oh god, the trouble Iâve had getting organizations Iâve worked at, which have the explicit goal of helping disabled and mentally ill people, to accommodate my disability and mental illness as an employeeâŚ)
A very basic part of how we maintain class distinctions is to get people to sort themselves into âhavesâ and âhave notsâ and shaming people who transgress and admit they need help while also aspiring to prosperity and stability. The conservative hatred of âaccepting handoutsâ is based on the idea that accepting help is inherently degrading. That we can pity those people and give them our hand-me-downs, but we donât ever want to join them. No, weâre better than that.
A lot of liberal guilt is based in anxiety over the have/have not boundary. âIâm so guilty Iâve been privileged Iâm given so much, how dare I say I have it bad, I must atone for my needs and vulnerabilities.â It focuses you entirely on yourself and your difference from the people you want to help, not on your position inside a larger network of people who all have needs, and on how we can engineer systems to meet those needs in various ways.
I know this post has gone around in various forms but i just wanted to add one thing that stuck out to me in one of its other iterations:
âAre you trying to build a community you canât participate in?â
honestly, if you do something like provide food, it is vitally important for both you and the organisation that at some stage you stop handing out food, grab some yourself, sit down with people, and eat with them.
Wow, this hits hard. I know I have many privileges, and sometimes in my mind this translates to "you don't need help. you don't deserve it. how dare you use something other people could make better use of." And it's hard to get away from that mindset sometimes. Recently, a kind stranger directed me to a group offering free food, and I'm ashamed to say I stood there awkwardly before lying that I wasn't hungry, because I was scared - a part of me was scared to be seen as "poor," and another part was scared that someone would find out that I "wasn't poor enough" to be there. I had food at home, so how dare I take anything, I thought. (Never mind that it's my parents' house and technically my parents' food - which I also felt bad about, but accepting help from strangers felt worse somehow.) Looking back, I could have pushed back against that stigma, I could have used something to eat, and maybe from there I could have gotten involved. I will definitely need to read this post again to remind myself.

Why did I have to fold them up to sit in this tiny seat? And I say Fair, it's rough, but hey, at least we get a whole row to ourselves since you take up multiple spots. And Zasha says I suppose. Could be worse. And I say Yep. But when all's said and done, I'm glad you're flying with me. He looks towards the sky. And then we fall silent again.

what if there was a type of isopod big like the ocean ones but On Land
what if they rolled up into their ball forms for fun and easy transportation? rolling around one may say.
what if SOME of those isopods had thicker shells and tougher dispositions, allowing for tumbles from steeper falls or tougher terrains
now, what if we Befriended them. (think kitties? they domesticated themselves due to correct habitational alignments or something)
what if we then trained them to act similarly to sports balls. initial thoughts go to soccer and volleyball type sports, but others can be considered depending on size of isopod.
now, are you still with me? fantastic. what if those isopods fucking LOVE being sports balls. what if they just- demand their catetakers play with them. rain or shine. they get sad otherwise and further enrichment has to be provided so they do not tie their entire little insect minds to this one task and become neurotic-
what if we then had to build giant elaborate playhouses for all the retired sport isopods so they can easily roll around in their elderly stages of their molts?
i wish mosquitos didn't make you itchy and give you horribly infectious diseases. i wouldn't begrudge them a humble nibble were it not so
I agree! Even if they still caused itches, I would let them bite me - in fact, when I was a kid, I didn't realize that mosquitoes could spread disease, so I allowed them to bite me so they wouldn't bite other people and/or get squished, until my parents told me to stop and explained about the diseases.
Mosquitoes and ticks would cause a lot less problems if not for their microscopic hitchikers...

"ANTI-CENSORSHIP CHEAT SHEET
WHY? On July 2025, Steam, a popular storefront to purchase games on PC, and itch.io, a storefront that sells games, comics, tools, resources and much more, have recently delisted several NSFW games, after the group Collective Shout published an open letter to payment processors such as Visa, MasterCard, PayPal, and more.
As a result of this letter, payment processors have strongarmed Valve and itch.io into enforcing restrictive new TOS policies on what kind of content their platforms can host and sell.
Visa, Mastercard, Stripe and Paypal have been censoring free speech and legal business on the internet for TOO LONG. Their most recent targets are Steam and Itch.io, but they have also been pressuring websites like Pixiv, Patreon, Fansly, Onlyfans and MORE for years, applying draconian standards for what kind of adult/pornographic content platforms and their users can host and sell.
If we as consumers and creators want to regain ground on this issue, we have to make our voice heard.
HOW? BOMBARD THEM WITH PHONE CALLS Collective Shout, the organization that lobbied to have Steam and Itch.io change their TOS, did so with only around 1000 phone calls. Visa and MC have backed down from pressuring Onlyians to remove adult content entirely due to public backlash. Clogging their phone lines for an extended period, over a month at the absolute least, will almost guarantee that these companies will at least have to pay attention to the backlash. this list is not exhaustive. but some contact points for the 4 targets are:
VISA: (US + Can): +1 [8001-847-2911 US option selection for operator: 1-1-2 or 1-1-3
MASTERCARD: (US): +1 (8001-307-7309 US option selection for operator: 1-1-2-2-2-1 Phone (outside US): 1-636-722-7111
STRIPE: (Headquarters): +118881 963-8955 (France): +33 805-11-19-67 Stripe: [email protected]
PAYPAL: (US): +1 (888)-221-1161 (outside US): 1-402-935-2050 Customer Service: +1 (877)-569-1116
Talking Points To Hit
-Steam and itch.io were forced by payment processors to remove several games unfairly
- This was done after a small, far-right wing group that doesn't represent the wider population made a few phone calls
- Their action is harming legitimate, legal businesses, is unfairly targeting games made by LGBTQ+ and minority groups, and overall limits artistic freedom
- It is not the payment processor's role to dictate what adults can or cannot buy with their money
- You are willing to support any politician or legislation that will put restrictions on what the company and other payment processors are able to do
Tips - It's okay if you stumble over words and ask the operator to repeat themselves - Your goal is to TAKE UP TIME (and therefore, $) moreso than change minds - You will be told to direct your complaint to an email. Don't do this, escalate the call to a supervisor - Be polite. Do not raise your voice, sweat at, or threaten any phone operators.
Try To Hit All 4 Targets Per Day
This is only going to have an effect if as many people possible call EVERY DAY for as long as possible.
THIS IS A MARATHON, NOT A RACE. If you can, it is also a good idea to try to spread the word to organizations and groups that can either actively combat these huge companies legally, or can spread news, in a manner supportive of this movement, more effectively than your average person.
examples of organizations: ACLU, Canadian Civil Liberties Association, local legislators/govt representatives
examples of spreading the news: local newspapers, special interest publications, videogame streamers"
Great website with updates and more info <- for anyone looking for it!
Especially remember the marathon not a race part. Keeping this campaign up for as long as we can is the most important part. I want to see posts about this on my dash a week from now, not just today.

Crows are scary They
use tools
Can be taught to speak (like parrots)
Have huge brains for birds
like seriously their brain-to-body size ratio is equal to that of a chimpanzee
They vocalize anger, sadness, or happiness in response to things
they are scary smart at solving puzzles
some crows stay with their mates until one of them dies
they can remember faces
SIDENOTE HERE BECAUSE HOLY SHIT. They did an experiment where these guys wore masks and some of them fucked with crows. Pretty soon the crows recognized the masks = douchebag. But the nice guys with masks they left alone. THEN, OH WEâRE NOT DONE, NO SIR crows that WERENâT EVEN IN THE EXPERIMENT AND NEVER SAW THE MASK BEFORE knew about mask-dudes and attacked them on sight. THEY PASSED ON THE FUCKING INFORMATION TO THEIR CROW BUDDIES.
They remember places where crows were killed by farmers and change their migration patterns.
Guys Iâm really scared of crows now. (q)Â
Yeah but have you seen thisÂ
A colleague of my dadâs lives next to a lake, and looked out the window one morning to see a duck trapped in the ice. A crow swooped down. âOh hell,â she thought, expecting carnage, because crows are opportunists. But the crow chipped at the ice with its beak until the duck was free.
Idk of this counts but a few crows saved me from a magpie swooping attack once ,theyâre bros who can tell when magpies are being unreasonable and need to chill
I love crows so damn much. When I was fifteen, I hit a pretty serious bout of depression, to the point I was in my room for months. Well, a family of crows made a nest in a tree outside my window. There were two parents and two chicks. One chick was healthy and strong. One was weak, and had a caw like something being strained. It sounded more like a rooster crowing and so my parents jokingly named him âBuckâ.Well⌠months passed and Buckâs sibling was taught to fly. His parents focused on the sibling because the sibling was strong. The father stayed behind to try and teach Buck, but I saw him try to fly, fail, and crash to the floor. His father helped him back up into the tree.
Every day, I would watch Buck from my window until one day I opened it and started talking to him. He was small and gangly and he couldnât caw right. His feathers were all over the place and I felt a kinship. So I made a deal with him. I told him that if he could do it, if he could fly, then I could find the strength to get up. Well⌠near the end of the season, after talking with him every day, I finally saw him get out of the nest. He went to the edge of his branch, braced himself, and jumped⌠and just before he hit the ground, he soared back up into the sky. I cheered harder than I ever had before.
That winter, Buck left the area. I was crestfallen. I felt like Iâd lost a friend. But I was so damn proud of him.Â
Cut to the next spring? Iâm walking up the driveway one day when suddenly I hear a sound⌠a broken caw. I look up, and Buck is sitting in a tree above my head. He stared at me and puffed his feathers, then hopped down in front of me and cawed again. I was so damn thrilled, and I told him how proud I was of him. He ruffled his feathers and then soared off into his old tree.Â
That summer? I heard two broken caws. One from Buck⌠and one from his chick.
Cut to ten years later? We have a family of crows who all have a very distinct caw and they come here and spend every spring, summer, and fall on our property. Buck still greets me every spring.
that last reply made me wanna cry. thatâs so beautiful.
Donât forget the Russian Crow SLEDDING DOWN A ROOF not once, but twice.Â
this one morning i kept hearing really loud caws, i remember it was like 5am, LIKE REALLY LOUD AND ANNOYING AND AGGRESSIVE, so loud that i could hear it through a closed window, and i eventually went outside to check it out. there was a crow on my front lawn, it had an injury on its head and couldnât fly and there were two other crows circling right above it, and they were cawing like mad.Â
i tried to get close and take a better look and one of them dived super low and tried to attack me. so i went back in the house and chopped some sliced raw meat and tossed it at him from a distance.
a few more times later, very soon after, they could tell i was trying to help, and did not attack me. i was âallowedâ to walk up close and pick him up, he couldnât drink water properly so i had to dip my finger in a bowl and stick it in his mouth.
i did this few times a day and it went on for about a week before he disappeared, i thought he recovered and left, but he came back the next day and lands on me, and i see him around the block quite often, and he would come sit on my shoulder for a few minutes and then fly away again. i feel like iâve adopted a son.
Best birbs !!
your son is Beautiful and Strong
every time I see this post it has different crow stories and every time I reblog it again because all crow stories are good stories
Like, I wouldnât want to be on bad terms with a crow, but they are a really smart animal, they arenât scary You just want to be nice to them because they will know and they will remember, and they will pay you back if you treat them a certain way.
As a side note, I volunteered at a rehab (Hope for Wildlife), where they were rehabbing a crow with a broken wingâwho was named Russell Crow. He kept pulling his bandage off so a sleeve was cut off some old clothing and put on him like a little sweater.Â
!!!!
I donât think Iâll ever not reblog this. This posts makes me cry and smile at the same time.
Heâs so handsome!!
I would trust a crow with my life
This is your regularly scheduled crow appreciation post
many east indians respect crows and lowkey worship them and now i know why :)
fucking superb you funky little death omens
Feeling rough lately.
I want to take a moment to address this since Iâve been seeing a lot of it latelyâand as someone who does something creative and (at least it often times feels) superfluous for a living (photography), Iâve been feeling this myself as well.
You can and should keep doing the creative superfluous things. They matter, for multiple reasons. I will go into why in more detail, but the short of it is this:
Fascism seeks to change the landscape of daily life and the notion of whatâs possible to deepen its control. It is imperative that we preserve the things it seeks to erase, both for ourselves and our posterity.
Making The Good Fight your whole life is a good way to both lose the fight and destroy yourself in the process. The key has always been to incorporate activism and community building into your daily life as a part of the way you live, not to become an activist ubermensch.
Iâll start with the second point.
Hyperspecialization does have its place, and itâs true that some people are dispositionally suited to and personally interested in focusing on politics or activism or protest as their main thing. And thatâs great! But thatâs not everyone. Society is a system and that system requires many different parts. Not all of those parts see the same kind of engagement or the same amount of engagement and they each do vastly different things. You can contribute to bettering the world in a lot of different ways, and itâs important that you consider where your skills, interests, and abilities fit best.
And to be clearâI do think that everyone should be active in some way right now. In this current political climate, if you are able-bodied itâs fairly morally reprehensible if youâre not doing anything at all. But whether something is Big and Draining isnât and should not be the measure of whether youâre doing something useful.
Hereâs an Example:
I do not have a lot of resources. I donât have much money and I donât have a lot of time or energy. But every month I put together care packages for the unhoused.
I go to Grocery Outlet while Iâm out doing my usual shopping and buy snacks. I consider what would be easy to eat with dental pain or missing teeth (a common struggle among the chronically unhoused), take care to be mindful of common allergies like nuts and gluten, and pick targeted snack combos that offer a good balance of nutrition and have a reasonable shelf life. I usually spend $15-$20 in total, and that often makes 8-12 care packages.
I package about 500 calories worth of snacks with a small water bottle in a brown paper bag. Then I add in a note card I type up with up-to-date information on local resources: food pantries, relief shelters, mutual aid groups, addresses and phone numbers and comments if I have any (Current wait time calling into the EBT office is about 2-3 hours, construction on X street in front of the relief shelter thru June, etc). If I have a chance to stop by the chamber of commerce sometimes Iâll thrown in a local bus route map.
I keep these in my car and whenever I see someone on the side of the road with a sign asking for help, instead of ignoring them or panicking and digging scant change out of my wallet, Iâm prepared and I can give them one of my care packs (I usually go through about 3-5 a week).
I chose to do this because:
It was something I could consistently do.
I asked someone who spent time living on the street what kinds of things they received that were most helpful and this was something they recommended.
I looked at where help was most needed, and found it was in the day-to-day struggle to survive. A lot of the focus of aid to the unhoused is top-down big-picture stuff. More transitional housing, a larger budget to food assistance, expanded medical care. And that stuff IS important! But there are already lots of people focusing on it, and fewer focusing on connecting those in need to those resources, or helping them survive long enough to receive them. So I tried to step in and help there instead.
Now before yâall go yelling in the notes about how âyeah but that isnât doing X or Y, or OPâs point was Zâ, I bring up this example for this important point:
You have to start somewhereâand that somewhere should feel approachable and doable; and only by starting do you learn how best to incorporate activism, mutual aid, and political activity into your life in a balanced way. Only by starting do you build up to bigger things that have bigger impacts.
A favorite tool of fascism and authoritarian regimes is the shock and awe tactic: bomb people with things so overwhelming so quickly theyâre left dazed and demoralized, too befuddled to think straight let alone fight back.
Itâs what makes people like me (and OP), who make a living doing something that feels frivolous and useless, really struggle. Look at Gaza! And Ukraine! And Musk! And LGBTQ rights! Attacks on trans healthcare! Reproductive freedoms! ICE raids! And what am I doing? Drawing pictures! Editing pimples off someoneâs face! Who does that help?!!
But hereâs the thing about shock and awe: itâs not a measure of actual power or control held by the enemy; itâs meant to make you feel like the enemy has control of the battlefield. Itâs a tactic to skew perception. The point is to make what youâre doing feel useless, to inspire hopelessness and inaction and compliance before the battle has even really started. The point is to make you lose perspective.
While itâs true that drawing pictures or editing photos wonât feed a family in Gaza or stop attacks on LGBTQ rights, carrying on with those boring frivolous everyday things holds its own inherent value in this particular climate, and hereâs why:
Fascism seeks to change the landscape of daily life, to narrow the definition of the acceptable and the possibleâto control reality (or our perception of it), utterly. And it will destroy so much before this is all over. The next generation of children will grow up never knowing certain norms, thinking the ceiling of possibility is so much lower, never even considering ways of life that to us are foundationalâbecause those things simply wonât be there anymore. Theyâll never have seen it, so to them, it wonât exist.
Therefore we need to hold on to as much of the world theyâre trying to destroy as we can. We need to remember the childhood dreams and the lives we envisioned that drove us to become professional artists or photographers or pastry chefs or fiction authors or historians researching fascism or scientists developing vaccines because those perspectives are being erased. We need to carry on our crafts and live the lives those choices led us to because those lives and the unique work born of our perspectives and experiences are being destroyed.
Because one day when we beat back the darkness, we need to remember what we had, and have a clear vision of the world we want to build upon the ruin of their would-be kingdom.
In the immediate urgent now, no, just doing my professional work isnât going to solve the problems strangling the world, my country, or my community; but I still need to eat and pay my bills. And so do you, OP, and thatâs nothing to be ashamed of. And because I know taking photos of frivolous things wonât contribute to solving some of those problems, I make time to try and help in other small ways instead.
Knowing Iâm doing something to help makes me feel better. Feeling better enables me to handle the shock and awe without falling victim to its terror. And that gives me more energy to do more for my community, to be there for friends and family when the terror gets to them, and to grow into a person who can do more to fight back.
The thing I want people to take away from this post more than anything, is that you donât fight fascism or shock and awe with your own retaliatory concussive blasts. Sometimes big shows of force are needed, thatâs true; but that is not the foundation of resistanceâand you have to start at the foundation.
Instead, you fight with the slow and steady creep of personal development, coalition building, mutual aid, grassroots organizing, and focused, fearless persistence. If fascism is the rocket blasting apart the city, resistance must be the weeds and wildflowers growing stubbornly through the cracks in the rubble, varied species working together to overtake the catastrophe as they create their own ecosystem with each budding flower and deepening root, vines winding around the machinery of war and oppression until the cogs break apart and become nothing more than the stepping stones to something better.

Yes! Love the unloved creatures! I consider myself an animal lover... and that includes far more than just charismatic mammals! There are so many amazing animals that are not well known or generally considered "scary" or "icky." Salamanders, frogs, rats, pigeons, snakes, spiders, cockroaches, wasps, scorpions, earthworms, eels, flatworms, and slugs just begin the list, and you could easily add the great majority of insects, arachnids, and deep-sea dwellers. Meaning, there's probably a cool underappreciated animal out there that you can appreciate, even if you're not a fan of amphibians or are put off by critters with more than four legs. Personally, I find my life is greatly enriched by noticing and appreciating some of the many invertebrates around me in my daily life... put on your metaphorical "bug goggles," and suddenly there are little guys everywhere <3
*releases pack of dads into home depot* goâŚâŚbe free
invasive species encroach on lesbian territory
This is a common misconception because theyâre such similar environments, but you should be aware that dads are native to Home Depot, while lesbians are actually native to Loweâs. At this point, however, both dads and lesbians have made themselves at home in both Home Depot and Loweâs to the point that trying to separate them back into their original ranges would probably do more harm than good to the delicate ecosystem of large chain hardware stores.
A properly raised and socialized Dad will be perfectly comfortable cohabiting with Lesbians. Its not really âencroaching on anotherâs territoryâ. You wouldnât say that about foxes in a forest that also homes bobcats, would you? No. Itâs just two different species that have both evolved to live in similar/the same environment. As long as they recognize each other as equals, Dads and Lesbians are more than capable of cohabitation.
Now, if you were to release a pack of Lumberjacks into a Lowes or Home Depot, thatâs where chaos will reign. Being adapted to a far harsher and more demanding environment, the Lumberjacks would simply push Dads and Lesbians both out and also consume far more than a sustainable amount of resources. It would be like releasing bears at a country club.
As a former timber-harvester⌠I feel this is potentially accurate in theory. But highly improbable in actuality.
Lumberjacks, like most megafauna species generally require more space than the average hardware store, even a big box store could provide. The misconception is that Lumberjacks are a social species because of how they often work and live together.
This is a matter of necessity, not preference, and a survival technique for thriving under the LogBoss.
A âpackâ of Lumberjacks, if not under the environmental pressure of a LogBoss will naturally disperse until they each have a wide territory.
Lumberjacks rarely fight for territory.
One on one, a Lumberjack could drive out a Dad or Lesbian, however the latter tend to travel in social packs.
Lumberjacks will passively retreat on the presence of large numbers of people. Kind of like Sasquatch.
Getting a âpackâ of Lumberjacks assembled would be hard enough unless they were forced into a Hardware Store by a LogBoss. In that case, they would already be in a heightened and potentially agitated state far above their natural behavior. This artificial scenario can be likened to a circus animal running amok. If it had been in the wild, the incident would not have occurred.
Free-roaming Lumberjacks are the cryptids of the Hardware ecosystem. They are surprisingly quiet and unobtrusive.
Please stop labeling Lumberjacks as dangerous roving social predators. They are intermediate level omnivores and remarkably peaceful unless threatened.
As a hardware store worker I can say that this is all 100% accurate.
now how in the FUCK am i supposed to leave tumblr when a god tier post like THIS is just is just waiting for me daily?!?!?!
question where does the âart studentâ or âDIYerâ âcrafterâ or âsoap makerâ or âminiaturistâ etc. who has ventured into the store for supplies fall into the ecosystem/what is their impact of said ecosystem?
Most of the above are native to craft and hobby stores (art students, historically, are native to museums, but having been introduced to hobby stores, have found a niche for themselves and thrived), but all can be seen in hardware stores on occasion due to territorial overlap. They are generally low-impact, as they tend to stick to specific small areas and primarily utilize different resources. While a large group of any of them can be disruptive (art students, in particular, are known to travel in packs), in general, they are more likely to have territorial disputes with one another than with the local fauna.Â
A point of clarity -âcrafterâ is a bit misleading; while it conjures a specific image, much like âfishâ or âreptileâ it actually covers a broad array of wildly disparate species, and in general, more descriptive nomenclature is preferred. Fiber artists in particular are a genus to watch out for, particularly in groups. Beware a roving pack of domesticated quilters. They fear nothing, will go anywhere, and due to their social nature, will often seek interaction from other species that thrive best in solitude. They are quite friendly, and will happily adopt members of other species; the concern is that their adoptees do not always wish to be adopted.Â

I do wonder how lesbian/bisexual lumberjack-mimickry fits into this
I can say as a former craft store worker that if you wish to see true fear, look into the eyes of a Dad who must venture into a craft store. Despite the overlap of familiar beings known to him from his native hardware store habitat, Dads are instinctively aware that craft stores are not for them; they contain unfamiliar perils and even the seemingly familiar may have strange variances and unnerving secrets. (âWhy is this airbrush so small? What do you mean nails, why would you⌠WUT!!â)
Only experienced silverbacks or the boldest young Dads dare venture into a craft store for long without his mate or offspring to keep roving Craft Ladies at bay and guide him in this strange ecosystem. If a Dad enters with his mate and is separated from her, he will often scuttle for the seeming familiarity of Woodcrafts, Models, or Paints (the latter not to be confused with Fine Arts, unquestioned territory of art students), but he eyes Scrapbooking and Jewelry with trepidation and will usually venture into those exotic areas only in the company of females of his pack.
Lumberjacks are rarely spotted entering craft stores of their own volition, for while they do not fear it as Dads do, they know it is an environment unsuited for megafauna such as themselves.
Hardware store Lesbians generally adapt more easily to craft stores, although they may enlist another Lesbian of a subspecies more adapted to that environment to guide them until they find their niche. Lesbians have even been known to seek the aid of a Craft Lady, a native fauna that share similarities with Lesbians but are usually smaller and nimbler to suit their chosen habitat. Dads who witness this are often awed by the Lesbiansâ temerity, for although larger, Dads are generally wary of the cunning and dexterous Craft Ladies and may mistake their enthusiastic pack greetings as predatory swarming.
Craft Ladies, secure in their ecological niche, have no fear of interlopers and take the presence of non-native beings in stride, although they may become territorial about scarcer resources.
The only truly invasive species that threaten craft stores are Brides-to-Be, who are mere annoyances individually, but like locusts may descend in hordes and lay waste, leaving swathes of destruction in their wake. Fortunately for the Craft Ladies, Brides-to-Be are seasonal and usually only a threat in the spring and early summer.
It Got Better
Is anybody going to address the newly invasive species of BuJo enthusiasts into the craft store/art supply store environment? Why arenât we talking about the dangerous proliferation of Leuchtturm 1917s and the growing threat of Dotted Moleskins? I had to liberate a Dad from a tangle of washi tape in the art supply store the other day and it wasnât pretty.
The natural habitat of journalers was stationary stores, which have been replaced by office supplies stores, not the same. Journalers invade the craft stores and art supplies stores to get the markers and washi tape and Sakura pens they require for survival.
@great-art-and-a-purple-tongue @onbearfeet THE LORE HAS BEEN UPDATED.
VERY IMPORTANT AND ENTIRELY ACCURATE now excuse me I gotta hit Lowes and Michaels.
Another thing to note is all of those habitats must adapt to the seasonal migration of goths. As soon as the faintest hint of spooky can be detected at those stores, goths will arrive in packs. A small pack of goths determined to forage can strip the shelves of a seasonal section bare in 30 minutes.
Too important not to reblog

Remember when you were young and thought that if you failed at anything, you would die alone in a ditch
Or was I just a weird kid
I thought this too for a while... that if I wasn't "good enough" to go to college and get a "good" job, I would die homeless and alone on the streets. I was a really anxious kid...
Of course now I know those thoughts were just me coming up with a horrible scenario in an anxiety spiral, but I really worried that if I "didn't make it" in the "real world" I would just die in a ditch.
AAAA this is so good!
