It was an elephant-like proboscidean that was widespread in North America during the Miocene and Pliocene. They were the only proboscid mammals to colonize South America during the Great American Interchange (along with their cousin Notiomastodon). It was about 5 m. long and stood 2.7 m. tall.

Nanaim may look a bit smaller than the Colossal squid because I've made the latter have its "hood" inflated; whether that's their natural form or due to extreme pressure changes when they're brought to the surface.
