A friend stopped by
psychopomp
"We know it looks like a butt plug, just drink the water, it's hot outside"
Seriously though he's right, stay hydrated
"Fill up," he says.
posting this here cause I’m still not over it. people who write instructions I love you you’re so funny
all of the numbers that are divisible by 17 sound so absurd. 51? 68? 85? ridiculous. 102? absolutely not. and don't even get me started on 119
34 and 136 i can believe, but i feel like i shouldn’t. it’s 102 in a trench coat
did we just run out of posts to make
no, i haven't made a post about every number yet
I'm sorry to let you know that 100,000,001 (one hundred million and one) is divisible by 17 and because of that, so is every 16-digit number that is four digits repeated four times e.g. 1234123412341234
Dividing by 17 in-general is insane behavior. This is eldritch math, so of course it’s gunna have wild outcomes. This is truly an info-hazard. I’m gunna see a number in the wild, wonder if 17 is lurking in there, and if I whip out my phone calculator and it’s true I’m going to LOSE IT.
I translated the Ea-Nasir complaint into vulcan and engraved it in on a cooper plate

god my heart is fucking breaking for all these people THERE IS STILL TIME DO YOU HEAR ME
IT ISN'T TOO LATE AS LONG AS YOU'RE ALIVE
hi everybody i started HRT at 35 so like don't even despair
being in ur twenties makes u feel like 30 is a brick wall u either fly over or crash into but i promise u it's a door and it opens up into the rest of ur life like getting past the prologue of an open world game
very important addition from @thatsladyfaggottoyou ty <3
I started HRT at approximately 30 and top surgery at 32 just 4.5 months prior to this photo. It's never too late.
Parchment holes in manuscript repaired using embroidery circa 1417, currently in University Library Uppsala, Sweden
What wait WHAT
I love seeing parchment / vellum mended with stitching! Here are some more.
Honestly, Tvyek is pretty miraculous. It’s permeable to water vapor but not to water, it’s nearly impossible to tear, but can be easily cut. It’s cheap and made entirely without binding chemicals. In addition to being used for wristbands, it’s used to wrap construction sites to keep out water during construction, for tear-resistant envelopes at Fed-Ex, coveralls for mechanics, and my wallet, actually.
Fun tip, though it looks like paper, Tyvek is plastic, and cannot be recycled with paper.
holy fuc
I didn’t even know it had a name

1915 Suffrage poster. From Women's History Uncovered, FB.
For me this isn't even about empathy or sympathy (though there's value in those as well), it is just straight-up a human rights thing. Once you have decided that there is *any* category of human that can be treated as less-than-human you've said that humanity is conditional, and so are the rights that come with it. You've already lost, you've granted the fascists their point because *you agree with them* that some people don't deserve to be treated like humans.
This is, unironically, why I’m pro-life as well as deeply opposed to the Trump administration and especially how it’s treating immigrants.
All human beings have human rights. Every abuse starts with someone deciding one part of that statement isn’t true: that either a particular group of humans doesn’t count as “real” humans, or that not all humans have base human rights that should always be respected.
If you say the immigrant, the queer person, the fetus, the criminal, the woman, the disabled person, the person of a different race or class or nationality than yours, etc. isn’t human or doesn’t deserve the same human rights as everyone else? You have already agreed with the fascists. You have accepted their basic premise. And you can therefore become complicit in truly terrible things.
It's not just Fascism, it's all totalitarian ideologies. People use the specter of Fascism as a blanket for all types of repressive governments and actions when in fact it can and does come from all political sides.
Especially when the left starts to make rumblings about killing billionaires, eating the rich or starts desiring the unsheathe the guillotine once again, not recognizing that those were terrible times.
The question becomes, do you want the boot off the neck or do you want your boot on the neck?
Reminder that when pro-lifers comment on my posts, I donate to an abortion fund in their name.
Saying that fetuses have rights equal to humans is completely contradictory, actually, because fetal rights are necessarily asserted only at the expense of someone else's rights. In order for fetuses to have the same rights as humans, you are eliminating the right to bodily autonomy of people who can become pregnant.
Pro-lifers, feel free to come back and argue about that with me, today is payday and I worked twenty hours of overtime last week.
Everbody else: if you would like to see a critical analysis of the concept of revolutionary capital punishment from someone who is not attempting to downplay the fascism that is the specific subject of the original post, here is "Against the logic of the guillotine."
Being pro-life in the US right now is explicitly supporting the state-sanctioned deaths of people who were denied abortions.
Being pro-life in the US right now is explicitly supporting surveilling pregnant people and limiting their movements to prevent them from seeking medical care.
Being pro-life in the US right now is explicitly supporting the end of medical privacy
Being pro-life in the US right now is explicitly supporting making children to carry and deliver pregnancies that derail their lives and educations and endanger them.
Being pro-life in the US right now is explicitly supporting forcing rape survivors to live with the constant touch of their rapists until they are forced once again to endure sexual trauma in the form of an unwanted birth.
"Pro human rights" and "anti-abortion" are not beliefs that can coexist anywhere, in my opinion, but definitely not in the here and now.
Anyway. The National Network of Abortion Funds is at 2.1 million of its 2.5 million dollar goal for its may Fund-a-Thon. You can scroll through the participating funds to find ones that are further from their goal or need more support or especially focus on people in a community close to you.
"pro life" doesn't just mean that you value the "life" of the fetus.
It means you value the life of the fetus more than the life of the mother, and more than the concept of bodily autonomy which is necessary for survival.
If you're anti-abortion, you should also be pro-forced-organ-donation. While the donors are alive.
Sound unethical? Sound like an egregious overstep of the government? Sound like you want to make a determination of what your organs are used for?
Good. It should. Apply that energy to pregnancy.
