Chaos and writing

I thought writing would feel like;

tbh a lot of my advice boils down to “hey you know that terrible horrible looming thing you’re doing your best to avoid and distract and escape as much as possible but no matter what you do it just keeps looming and looming and ruining your life”

good morning everyone! I have a new all-time favorite work of art, and it’s this early 19thc ivory netsuke in the shape of an INCREDIBLY fat bird

This must’ve been a popular design for netsuke, because there’s a very similar one on display in the National Museum of Scotland:

after venturing out to pinterest in search of their roundest birds, i present the following

the best part is most of these are the pose juvenile sparrows take to beg from parents: fluffed up, flattened down, wings held out just so. they’re just lil hungy babbies.
