Reblog and put in the tags what your blog title (not URL!) is a reference to.
some of you are mentally unwell bc your reusable water bottle is filled with black mold go wash that shit
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hi i was drinking mold all my freshman year and got the most sick ive ever been in my life here's good ways to avoid that shit:
number one rule is get stainless steel shit. stainless steel water bottle stainless steel straw, you dont want that rubber plastic etc shit it grows mold like a mf. turns out that was the main culprit of what happened to me, my reusable water bottle was plastic and it didn't matter how much i let it soak or cleaned it out.
get this either if you can or can't afford the stainless steel stuff and just be really on cleaning it; staw cleaner looks like this:
and get one its mammas the bottle cleaner for your cup:
this one is 3 dollars you get soap in there and spin this shit around and push it up and down and the mold will be begging for mercy
My additional piece of advice: get a pack of denture cleaning tablets. These are especially good if you use your bottle for anything other than water (squash, coffee etc) or if you’ve got a built in straw with awkward curvy bits.
You put that tablet in the bottle, add hot water, let it fizz and soak for a bit and hey presto, any stains or discolouration or weird little crevices are suddenly removed of their hidden nasty bits.
My niece kept saying her water bottle tasted weird, and she washed it and washed it, and then me and my mum were like GIVE IT HERE and we put a denture tablet in it and added the straw to it and it started fizzing up the straw and all this black gunk started coming out the weird curvy bits of the fitted straw like a Coke-mentos experiment.
It’ll taste slightly minty unless you rinse rinse rinse rinse rinse rinse but that’s not a terrible thing, and let’s face it, denture tablets are for cleaning dentures so, you know, designed to clean things that go in mouths.
Anyway: wash your water bottles! Wash your flasks! More often than you think you need to!! Keep denture tablets in the cupboard!!
It has recently passed 0100, I arrived home at about 1900, for most of the time in between (aside from reading through tumblr from the prior 12 hours and putting peanut butter on bread) I had company. I almost never have company.
I spent the afternoon at the gaming location across the city (after a fruitless look at the nearby bookstore) and was given a lift home after her game and mine had both gone late. Instead of just sitting in the car and talking (like happened the prior two times she's been kind enough to drive me home) I suggested we head inside. I did not expect her to be leaving after midnight. I would not have given credence to being told that we'd talk for that long. Even after a couple of three hour conversations on the prior occasions.
I have lost my storygraph reading streak, after what was nearly 11 months, and will be writing my weekly journal entry after this. I was shown a couple of photos that I'd not expected. We talked about relationship issues again. I didn't ask a thing I've wondered if I should ask. There was not as much hugging or hand-holding as there might have been with a couch instead of sofa chairs.
sleep is not normal to want and impossible to achieve

Have you seen Batman (1989)?
Yes
No
Haven’t even heard of this movie
Thinking hard about the upcoming work schedule
This has by far been the most laborious part of reconstructing the DDCom website: importing and correcting the images and meta for the novels.
I've kept having thoughts like "Will this never end?", "Why did I write all these books?", and occasionally "HOW did I write all these books? When dd I eat? When did I pee? When did I... " ...well, never mind, when you're married to @petermorwood, some things damn well take precedence. :)
But look at this. (I can't fit the whole "Books/Novels" page in here at the moment: but this is the bottom of it.)
The bottom line there contains books 55, 56, 57, 58, and 59.
That gap-without-a-novel-60 is going to drive me around the bend. I am now feeling around in my head for a book I could write in a week or two. (Short fiction will NOT work for me. I don't care what other writers call “books” [and the all-too-willing conflation of the terms “book” and “ebook” frankly embarrasses me]. In my head, novels are at least 70K words. I have standards to uphold.)
I am currently weighing several different projects in The Hand Of The Mind to see what, if completed, might fit into that empty spot in the next couple of weeks.
Don't mistake me. I will ABSOLUTELY write to spite that empty spot. :) (And one possibility that I'm now weighing carefully is [mostly] a Carmela story: Young Wizards: The Chocolate Wars.)
Let's see where this goes. Meanwhile: want to assist this effort? Reference this post and see what it suggests to you. And thanks! 😄
(BTW, just a note for folks who may be wondering if I need help with the website end of this: I have been building our household websites [hand-coded in HTML initially, because what else was there?…] since the mid-1990s. Anything I need to learn about managing Elementor—currently my preferred site builder since I became a Cranky Older Coder—I can find online. [Though the weary techbro-who-loves-to-hear-his-own-voice-drone-on-and-on quality of these does pain me.] I also have expert [and paid] professional assistance at the this-year migration end for the site as a whole. But many thanks to all those who've offered assistance.)
Reflections on a suprisingly load-bearing episode
Love for Keiko on Critical Stsr Trek today, quite right too.
KEIKO O'BRIEN!!! So overlooked by Trek as a whole. They should all be calling her Dr. O'Brien. She should be interacting regularly with Jadzia Dax, the station chief scientist - there's gotta be a coordinated research program with Bajor and exploring through the wormhole. She's perfectly placed to continue her research work from the Enterprise if she wanted to. Hell, she could be catching up on writing up her research - I don't know a single scientist who isn't multiple papers behind. Even if they kept the plot line of her no longer doing research science, her struggle of changing family dynamics due to career change and family relocation could have had so much more depth and introspection to it.
I probably over-identify with Keiko, as I too am a scientist with a Ph.D. married to an engineer who I love in spite of his inability to maintain any semblance of a work/life balance, and does the ever-shifting balancing act of managing my career, my spouse's career, and raising a child. My answers to what specific blend is right for me has changed over my life, and has involved a lot of soul-searching. I know I'm not the only one who has dealt with this, and I am perpetually disappointed that DS9 boiled it all down to complaining housewife stereotypes.
Beautiful reflections on Keiko. I tried to put her front and centre in The Lotus Flower, as a working mother reaching out to another working mother, but I think I would write that book completely differently now that I’ve actually been a working mother!

happy if you have scholarly inclinations there is usually something wrong with your sexuality july
“my friend is ALWAYS sick and cancelling our plans” it sounds like your friends life suuucks and you should check on them
One of the worst parts of being chronically ill is how lonely it gets. You need a community to help you but you realize just how conditional your friendships are on you being able bodied.
