so this guy right he makes ancient egyptian themed furry costumes. he makes all kinds but mostly he specializes in Horus heads. it's his passion really. he loves to make the beautiful falcon head of the Sun God. anyway so he's at a con one day and he sees this whole bunch of people in middle kingdom dress with these indistinguishable animal heads. he's like. oh man these folks could really use a new source, i can hardly tell what animal those are! so he goes over and he says "hey guys! i see you are into ancient egyptian mythological themed furry costumes--if any of you are interested in being the radiant Son of Ra, I am the BEST in the business!"
and the group of people look at each other, then at him. awkward. finally one of them says: "uh. no thanks. we're all Set."
This has been sent to me four times today, so I'm condemning OP to be judged by the 42 and fall into Nuun.
I think every laugh will make OP’s heart a bit lighter.

Judge OP’s heart
I laughed, I lighten his heart.
His heart shall be heavier for this.
shout out to potc character Bootstrap Bill Turner because if he did not have the galaxy brain idea to hide a cursed piece of gold from a bloodthirsty, vicious, immortal pirate crew by sending it to his defenseless child, non of the movies would have taken place the way they did.
Literally father of all time no further notes no further comments
A quick update for all my fellow r/196 migrants about how things are going back in the motherland. A saga has unfolded:
It began with a basic hornypost, and a comment under said post:
So, the fatal BreadSlice was getting clowned on in the replies, until:
So yeah, the more things change the more they stay the same I guess.
Kid today (probably like 6 years) came up to me and was like "teacher teacher what's your name" and i was like "asha :) also im not a teacher" and he was like "okay asha asha asha I need help" and i was like "okay buddy what's wrong" and he showed me this chunk of metal he'd found sitting in the sun that he was just carrying around and it was super sharp and super hot from the sun and he was like "my hand hurts :(" and i was like "ok. put that down. does it still hurt?" And he did and was like "no." and then he picked it up again and immediately went "my hand hurts :(" again and then I was like "kid. put that down and stop touching it" and he was like "ok but when I touch it my hand hurts :(" and i was like "Please Just Stop Touching That. If you dont touch it your hand won't hurt" and this went on for like another 2 minutes before i got him to realize that if he stopped touching the metal it would not hurt. Kids are so fucking weird man
Comments that make me realize this kid is probably what I sounded like to my therapist when complaining about the consequences of all my bad habits

@elodieunderglass I know bread isn't good for birds, buuuut....
Bread by Anya Nami. Animation by Katya Ross
That's amazing! I love the style, thank you so much.
(and bread is perfectly okay for birds in moderation; the problematic part is that you don't know, and can't control, what else the birds have eaten; so you can't possibly gather the information you need to calculate "moderation" for a random duck.)

"Here's what we know about SARS-CoV-2: - It is airborne, floating and lingering in the air. - One infection can result in disabling damage to almost every cell in the body, from the brain and heart to the nerves and blood vessels. - Every subsequent infection increases the risk of Long Covid and places people who already have it in greater danger. Here's what we don't know: is what it does to reinfect children, over and over and over again, with no end point in sight from the day they are born. We are about to find out. As Dr. Akiko Iwasaki says, at this point the whole population is the control group, and after only five years, Long Covid has surpassed asthma as the most common chronic illness in children. Five years. I am terrified for the children who do not or soon will not know a world without debilitating pain and exhaustion, who cannot trust their bodies to play, explore and imagine, and who will not know the potential of their own minds, unfettered by the cognitive damage from a Covid-19 infection. And I am furious on their behalf."
Violet Affleck, Youth Advocate Healthy Indoor Air: A Global Call to Action 23 September 2025
I would specifically like to point out the last line of the description here: 23 SEPTEMBER 2025
This is current. This is 1-2 days old (depending on where you are).
This JAMA Pediatrics Patient Page describes the symptoms of long COVID in children.
we actually know another extremely effective way to reduce covid infections in schools and it doesn't even require the willingness and ability to wear a mask all day, and it's good ventilation and air filtration. the fact that simple solutions are simply not being implemented is fucked up beyond anything. anyway I think that advocating for better air quality in schools is probably the most effective thing to do, as it's more 'normal' and comfortable, doesn't rely on kids (and teachers) actually keeping their masks on, and is less politically charged. many different people can agree that better indoor air quality is a good thing
