So, this side blog is literally just my main blog the bad sequel - everything here is the bare posting minimum for my standards or for things that would otherwise just fill up my main/art blog too much/make the other blogs too messy for my liking. (I like to keep things easily scrollable and coherently on-topic there)

Things won’t really be taken as seriously or as strictly here because this space is really for my extra random stuff. That includes things like spoilers or more minimal tagging.

Everything here won’t be reblogged on my main blog, because I want to keep that clean. This is still a explicit-stuff-free space, however, but it’s going to get messy.

Had a dream last night where I in this like art store… thing, with a bunch of other people (I didn’t/couldn’t see their faces or anything, just vague individual details) were taking down… art pieces such as (but not limited to) a massive, simple, blue paper folded accordion thing off the wall (literally attached to the wall) as well as weird unknown paintings, and some polygonal pencils (?) and we were just scattering the items around in a somewhat orderly fashion for… some reason. Some were placed in the ‘back half’ some in the ‘front half’ of the ‘store’. I dunno - the dream was kinda aimless…? No lore or anything, just taking down whatever was in there, I suppose.

I have a weird feeling it connects to this other dream where I am in this like futuristic world, but the stronger elements of unreality demonstrate it’s not just some odd psychic dream, or at least, I hope not. They’ve got this weird, dystopic tone but more cozy, if that makes even a micron of sense? Yeah.

The only possible theory on it I got (when I woke up) was that it had something to do with a government that didn’t exist that didn’t want the art there for whatever reason. That tracks, but also fuck you non-existent anti-art government from my dream, fuck you.

Funnily enough, there is an actual condition that makes eyes glow but it’s mostly found in every other animal. IDK if humans can have it though? It’s called tapetum lucidum.

It’s what makes cats eyes glow in the dark or when a light is reflecting off of their eyes. Same with dogs and most other animals

I believe what you guys are saying are IOLs. (Intraocular lenses) Those little lenses they put in eyes when someone gets cataracts and it has to be removed and the natural, cloudy/broken/etc. lens replaced with it. That kinda thing.

I know someone with them, and they do indeed shine when in the right light, almost like a squeaky-clean mirror… which I guess is the point, but y’know, you never know it until you see it.

If someone has IOLs, by the way, it’s hard to spot, but if you get it at the right angles, you can see it like a very obvious bright disk just behind the iris/pupils. Kinda weird, but cool! I don’t see it often (because it seems like some sort of overhead lighting is required to see them easily) even though I know that person pretty well.

Fun fact: Did you know the reason why humans in general see complete darkness as a dull grey? It's because our cone cells, those responsible for colour, pretty much don't work at all in the dark! Instead, the last type of cell in our eyes (rod cells) that DOESN'T deal with colour deals with the light/dark contrast - which is why even when someone has multiple working colour sensing cells, pure darkness at night is just simply grey to deep black! It's also why shadows can only have colour during the daytime or when there's a light source nearby!

I’ve been alright, honestly. It’s frankly would’ve been a boredom fest had I not made myself busy with art trading over on Toyhouse.

Honestly, I gotta get the art sideblog caught up, BADDDLLLLY. I’ve done SO much charcater and design art since it’s last post, it’s kinda shocking. Ok, so I found this warning, right, and honestly this is just a pet peeve on mine taken to the limits, but I had a cursory, long look at it… and it went ON and ON. Just like, AT LEAST two pages worth, if not more, and I’m thinking to myself “maybe this should be really simplified or put on the profile instead??”

Because… the confirm button is ALWAYS on the bottom, no matter what, and if I or you have to scroll *three* times or *more* to get to the bottom of a warning, you should probably cut it down to at LEAST a page’s worth of text, it’s atrocious otherwise, sorry.

Look, I agree with a lot of the person I’m about to link (to an extent!), don’t come after them obviously, BUT if I have to scroll and painstakingly read a warning I take great pains to always read even if I really should turn warnings off or something (I’m a stickler for the rules, I can’t help it), I’m gonna be turned away if my first impression is a literal brick wall of text.

It starts off looking short and sweet, right? This LOOKS normal at first…

AND THEN…

Ladies, gentlemen, and everyone in between and beyond, that is TEN images. The limit to how many you can put in ONE image thing on Tumblr without needing to add another one. You should not need ten images to explain everything on your warning page. (And about 3 more images, counting the honestly okay easy-to-read visuals at the top)

It sounds obvious, but it needs to be said. Toyhouse warnings are not for DNIs and BYFs and whatever like THIS. It’s too long and everyone will end up scrolling, no matter how good it may sound to you. Put it on your profile like anon is saying, or heck, even on a Carrd’s better than this! (But a profile is indeed ideal) …not a warning that’ll disappear in one session, forcing someone to read it again and again for no reason other than you wanted it ALL TO BE IN THE WARNING.
