I love emotionally constipated characters so much

I LOVE stoic silent brooding characters secretly feeling and unable to express it

But one variety of emotional constipation that I think is criminally underrepresented (ESPECIALLY in female characters??) is the Superficial Emoter™️

The one who is warm and social but never expresses anything really deep about themselves or their emotions!

The one that seems like the most well-adjusted person in the whole group, capable of taking on anything and seemingly just rolling with all of it!!!

The one who doesn't seem to have the emotional range of all the other characters, just always seems to be "doing well"!!!!!!!

The one everyone looks to as a role model of resilience and endurance and really they are just absolutely incapable of processing/understanding/expressing their own emotions, all they have is positive affect with nothing solid beneath it!!!!!!!!!!!!

(And don't even fucking get me STARTED about the ones who help everyone else process THEIR emotions, while they themselves have little to no insight about their own feelings -- not because they're unable to understand, but because they're totally unwilling to examine them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Who knows what's going on deep inside their hearts and minds? NOT THEM!

Hey. Why isn’t the moon landing a national holiday in the US. Isn’t that fucked up? Does anyone else think that’s absurd?

It was a huge milestone of scientific and technological advancement. (Plus, at the time, politically significant). Humanity went to space! We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! That’s a big deal! I’ve never thought about it before but now that I have, it’s ridiculous to me that that’s not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why don’t we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!
