RIP to my favorite poster artist of all time. I remember walking down corridors at movie theaters as a kid and a young man, looking at the posters for upcoming movies, and Struzan's posters just getting into my brain and exciting me with adventurous possibilities. Thanks for all the hard work and all of the excitement.

if you ever want to scroll through an absolutely inspiring breadth of work, spend an hour or so on drew’s IG. so many movies you hadn’t realized he’d done posters of, behind the scenes sketches of all your faves, artwork that never made it into production, it’s incredible.

and yes he painted all of your favorite movie posters of course, but my favorite were all of the star wars legacy novels he painted in the 90s. i used to stare at them and try to recreate them all the time as a kid:
