(via Soft Secession, Another Unhinged Speech, and the Question of What Scraps Remain of the Federal Government)
So the operative question for anything he attempts is who complies. If an order to delay, suspend, or federally supervise a vote ever comes, nothing happens on its own. American elections run through state governments and thousands of county and municipal offices: clerks print ballots, secretaries of state certify, governors sign, and federal agencies have almost no role in that sequence. In Republican trifectas whose officials already comply with instructions that lack legal basis, parts of an attempt could take effect. In states that refuse, none of it has to. The condition of states diverging that far inside one federal system is the collapse of a nation and it could be just a few months away.
It’s called projection.
Every conservative accusation is a confession.
Join NextGen America, Voto Latino, Common Cause, Public Citizen, and League of Women Voters as we call and text thousands of voters across the country, in honor of Good Trouble Lives On! This event is virtual - all you need to join is your energy! The fight to protect voting rights never ends, and right now, we’re witnessing a Jim-Crow-era effort from politicians and their billionaire friends to restrict our freedoms, silence our voices, and consolidate power. But in America, we choose our leaders. We will decide our future. The same spirit that fueled Selma, Montgomery, and the March on Washington lives on in our unified action. Six years after the passing of Congressman Lewis, we're organizing an event in our community to carry the torch, continue the legacy of John Lewis, and pass it forward to future generations. Join us! Good Trouble Lives On is a non-partisan weekend of action. We require that participants commit to not advocate for, endorse, or oppose any political candidate or ballot initiative. A core principle behind all Good Trouble Lives On events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
(via Tell Your Senator: End Trump’s Reckless War On Iran | Indivisible)
Trump’s unauthorized, unprovoked war in Iran has already cost the lives of US service members and thousands of civilians in Iran and across the Middle East. Even after a 60-day agreement was announced, Trump bombed Iran anyway, making clear that neither he nor the Israeli government can be trusted to keep their word on a ceasefire.
Both the House and Senate have now passed War Powers Resolutions challenging Trump’s unauthorized military actions against Iran and reasserting Congress’s constitutional authority over matters of war. But these votes are not enough. We call on Members of Congress to hold the line for not another dime. A vote for the Trump-Hegseth weapons budget, a supplemental request for funding, or any other additional funding for war is unacceptable.
Fill out this form right now and we’ll connect you to your Senator. Tell them to use every lever available to stand up to Trump and stop this war now.

Foreword Imagine union membership tripling in the United States. It may sound radical—if you’ve forgotten history. In fact, more than 1 in 3 private-sector workers belonged to a union in the 1950s. The results? Wages grew in tandem with the economy. The middle class thrived. Black-white wage gaps shrank. Broadly shared economic growth was a…
“The AP has just posted a detailed investigation into the background of David Brouillette, the recently hired ICE agent who shot and killed Johan Sebastián Durán Guerrero in Maine. It’s genuinely horrifying on more levels than are easy to describe. Brouillette was hired during ICE’s recent hiring spree, as the agency attempted to rapidly staff up to manage a program of mass deportation. Brouillette has a long history of severe mental illness, a lengthy history of violence against at least two wives as well as his children, stalking, a seemingly endless list of restraining orders, violent threats against other family members and more. According to one relative, Brouillette was diagnosed with severe bipolar disorder as a child as well as attention deficit disorder, twice tried to commit suicide at age 12 and was hospitalized multiple times. These early issues appear to have been compounded by service in the military and deployments to Afghanistan which left him with an increased propensity to violence as well as PTSD. A relative told the AP, “They took someone who was extremely mentally ill and turned him into a killing machine.””

At 9:01 p.m., Donald J. Trump stood in the East Room of the White House and delivered one of the most dangerous speeches ever given by an Am
And if the question is whether there was fraud or attempted election fraud, maybe Donald Trump should sit with what he himself has done. Because we have the recording. On January 2, 2021, Donald Trump called Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and spent an hour pressuring him to overturn the results of the state’s presidential election. Joe Biden had won Georgia by 11,779 votes. Trump told Raffensperger: “I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have. Because we won the state.” One more than the margin. He was not asking anyone to investigate fraud. He was telling a state election official the precise number of votes he needed fabricated. When Raffensperger refused, Trump threatened him: “That’s a big risk to you and to Ryan, your lawyer.” He also said, “I only need 11,000 votes. Fellas, I need 11,000 votes. Give me a break.” The entire call is on tape. It was published by the Washington Post.
Fuck Trump.
