Would like to add on about the estrogen for transmascs; if you get dysphoric of the feeling of your vagina getting wet, there isultra-low doses of estrogen suppositories. I take a 10 microgram suppository of estrogen twice a week. It’s enough to make it easier for me to pee, but not enough to cause me to get wet. ✌️
I know a lot of guys skip looking into estrogen suppositories bc they don’t do vaginal penetration, but even if you are a top or only do anal penetration it’s still important to consider it as an option if you’re experiencing issues. Pelvic floor dysfunction caused by vaginal atrophy can make it hard to relax the muscles in the pelvis, making it hard to pee and make it hard to relax the anus. If you find yourself having trouble peeing or trouble relaxing for anal, talk to your doctor about your options for treatments. Once I started 10 micrograms biweekly I had a lot easier time prepping for anal.
I also originally didn't like doing the estrogen cream because, at the dose I was taking, it made me feel like I was on my period all the time (it didn't trigger a period, just made me feel crampy and sick), but then I used a non-hormonal alternative vaginal moisturizer for awhile which worked really well, but I just so happened to be using a small amount of the estrogen for dryness stone my urethra and that small dose also worked for my vaginal atrophy as well with none of the side effects.
THERE IS SOMETHING OUT THERE FOR YOU!
Adding along for transfemme folks that in addition to an ED medication to encourage continued use and bloodflow, that topical t-gel is not masculinizing, and helps protect the tissue and reduce atrophy, and help keeps the tissue healthy both pre and post-op. It's the same tissue being repurposed post-op, so it's still at risk of atrophy, so the same stuff can help reduce tissue atrophy. That's right, t-gel is helpful even if you plan on getting a neovagina, because "If you're asking a doctor to fold an origami cat, it's best to bring them the highest quality paper." Healthier tissue is easier to work with and more likely to result in a successful surgery. Similarly, as much as a lot of people find it gender affirming, please think carefully about deliberate long-term use of cock-cages -- those kinds that result in substantial shrinkage. If you're looking to get a neovagina, you'll want to avoid prolonged cock cage use for the same reasons-- less tissue, thinner tissue, atrophied tissue, unhealthy tissue, will have poorer outcomes for surgery. Cock cages and the associated shrinking are GREAT for transfemme folks who want to KEEP their bits/don't want surgery, but want to minimize them, keep them small, and to reduce the dysphoria of a larger, more prominent penis. This is a common misconception because they’re such similar environments, but you should be aware that dads are native to Home Depot, while lesbians are actually native to Lowe’s. At this point, however, both dads and lesbians have made themselves at home in both Home Depot and Lowe’s to the point that trying to separate them back into their original ranges would probably do more harm than good to the delicate ecosystem of large chain hardware stores.
A properly raised and socialized Dad will be perfectly comfortable cohabiting with Lesbians. Its not really “encroaching on another’s territory”. You wouldn’t say that about foxes in a forest that also homes bobcats, would you? No. It’s just two different species that have both evolved to live in similar/the same environment. As long as they recognize each other as equals, Dads and Lesbians are more than capable of cohabitation.
Now, if you were to release a pack of Lumberjacks into a Lowes or Home Depot, that’s where chaos will reign. question where does the “art student” or “DIYer” “crafter” or “soap maker” or “miniaturist“ etc. who has ventured into the store for supplies fall into the ecosystem/what is their impact of said ecosystem?
Most of the above are native to craft and hobby stores (art students, historically, are native to museums, but having been introduced to hobby stores, have found a niche for themselves and thrived), but all can be seen in hardware stores on occasion due to territorial overlap. They are generally low-impact, as they tend to stick to specific small areas and primarily utilize different resources. While a large group of any of them can be disruptive (art students, in particular, are known to travel in packs), in general, they are more likely to have territorial disputes with one another than with the local fauna.
A point of clarity -“crafter” is a bit misleading; while it conjures a specific image, much like ‘fish’ or ‘reptile’ it actually covers a broad array of wildly disparate species, and in general, more descriptive nomenclature is preferred. Fiber artists in particular are a genus to watch out for, particularly in groups. Beware a roving pack of domesticated quilters. They fear nothing, will go anywhere, and due to their social nature, will often seek interaction from other species that thrive best in solitude. They are quite friendly, and will happily adopt members of other species; the concern is that their adoptees do not always wish to be adopted.

I can say as a former craft store worker that if you wish to see true fear, look into the eyes of a Dad who must venture into a craft store. If a Dad enters with his mate and is separated from her, he will often scuttle for the seeming familiarity of Woodcrafts, Models, or Paints (the latter not to be confused with Fine Arts, unquestioned territory of art students), but he eyes Scrapbooking and Jewelry with trepidation and will usually venture into those exotic areas only in the company of females of his pack.
Lumberjacks are rarely spotted entering craft stores of their own volition, for while they do not fear it as Dads do, they know it is an environment unsuited for megafauna such as themselves.
Hardware store Lesbians generally adapt more easily to craft stores, although they may enlist another Lesbian of a subspecies more adapted to that environment to guide them until they find their niche. Lesbians have even been known to seek the aid of a Craft Lady, a native fauna that share similarities with Lesbians but are usually smaller and nimbler to suit their chosen habitat. I had to liberate a Dad from a tangle of washi tape in the art supply store the other day and it wasn’t pretty.
The natural habitat of journalers was stationary stores, which have been replaced by office supplies stores, not the same. Journalers invade the craft stores and art supplies stores to get the markers and washi tape and Sakura pens they require for survival.

People do not want to read an email and even if they do read it, most people are skimming and not interested. Tell them what you want first, then provide context or other information (when you need a thing is often key). If the email is informational, you can even add "you don't need to do anything, this is just to keep you informed!" People will appreciate not having to figure out what you want from them.
If you can't articulate what you want the recipient to do with the message, you are not ready to email them. I read too many emails where I have no idea what the person wants from me.
Put the most important thing first and everyone will be impressed! AI cannot do this for you because it can't tell what's important! Only you know that, which is why you must write your own emails.

Hey do you know what rumination is?
Rumination is probably the most common type of OCD compulsion, but I rarely see anyone talking about it. I've talked to multiple people diagnosed with OCD who didn't even recognize it as a compulsion.
Basically, if you have OCD you have terrible intrusive thoughts. They can be about anything, but common themes are fear of being a bad person, fear of hurting someone, fear of contamination. etc.
Rumination is when you get stuck in a spiral. Rumination is when you spend hours catastrophizing, overthinking, analyzing, telling yourself it's going to be okay.
I'll say it again:
Rumination is a compulsion.
Rumination is a compulsion, and that means you have to stop doing it.
I did ERP (exposure response prevention) for my OCD with a therapist! For 9 months! And it did help, but the idea didn't really click until I found this website a couple years later.
And Oh My God. It made things make so much more sense, and I was able to pull myself out of an episode even though I wasn't in therapy or on meds at the time.
Genuinely if you have OCD, or even if you suspect you have OCD, I'm begging you to read some of these articles.

Fun little math trick I find really helpful: the ratio of a mile to a kilometer is within 1% of the Golden Ratio. That means that if you have a good memory for Fibonacci numbers (1 2 3 5 8 13 21 34 55 89) you can convert pretty accurately by taking consecutive Fibonacci numbers.
For example, 89 kilometers is really close to 55 miles (55.3). Or, say you need to convert 26 miles to kilometers: 26 can be written as 21 plus 5, so taking the next Fibonacci number up gives 34 and 8, meaning it should be around 42 kilometers. Sure enough, it's 41.8 km!

Microwaves are designed to be used at a broad range of power levels. If you're getting bad results reheating your food, and you're doing everything on full blast, try a lower power setting! 50% power for twice the time, just give it a shot. It gives the heat time to spread evenly, and prevents overcooking of parts that are exposed to more radiation.
People complain about reheated pizza a lot -- that's bc overheating the crust makes it tough and chewy. I usually do pizza on 30% power for THREE times as long because it's especially vulnerable -- and my crust always comes out nice and tender.
I think there's a good metaphor for Came Back Wrong here too: if you actually take the time to do your necromantic ritual and/or unholy experiment right, and don't rush it at 100% power, you're likely to get better results.

The only Good Jews are the Jews who are self-sacrificing, who will go willingly to their deaths for the salvation of others. The Good Jew, who will willingly undergo torments unto death, is the only Good Jew.

If my theory of relativity is proven correct, Germany will claim me as a German and France will declare that I am a citizen of the world. Should my theory prove untrue, France will say that I am a German and Germany will declare that I am a Jew.
The Good Jews--the Jesuses, the Anne Franks, the Einsteins, and others--have their Jewishness erased in order to universalize them; they are no longer Jews, but they are "citizens of the world" who no longer belong to the Jews in the public consciousness.

Jews cannot have their own religious texts. Those belong to the Christians and Muslims... after being edited appropriately, of course, but they are not Jewish texts in their own rights. No, Jewish religious texts are seen as a positive because they "offer independent non-Christian/Muslim verification of the legitimacy of the Old Testament/Koran", not because they're the holy texts of a small people who have preserved them.
Jews cannot have their own history. Those belong to the Christians and Muslims, who say that the Jewish history actually belongs to them, that everything from historical figures to stories to archeology regarding Jews cannot actually belong to the Jews themselves.
Jews cannot have their own prosperity. The wealth and ideas and peace and growth actually belong to everyone else around them, from whom the Jews "stole" it.
Jews cannot have their own tragedies. Those, foremost among them the Holocaust, belong to the world, as moral lessons and warnings against dangers to actual people, as opposed to Jews, who are expected to shoulder the burdens and pain without complaint.
Jews cannot have their own outstanding members. Those are citizens of the world, meant to inspire and uplift everyone else.
Jews cannot have their own homes. There is nowhere we can live without being told we don't belong there and that it belongs to someone else.
In the end, we are told, Jews cannot have their own lives. Merely existing as a Jew needs to be justified on what we give to the rest of you.

YEAH. this drives me fucking NUTS bc the term ghetto was first used in the 1500’s in venice to describe the neighborhood jews were forced to live in to keep them segregated from gentiles (mostly christians). there was another ghetto in rome. both of these were likely established when jewish populations in italy grew after the arrival of expelled sephardic jews escaping the inquisition.
here’s an excerpt about life in the roman ghetto from the wikipedia article:
Life in the Roman Ghetto was one of crushing poverty, due to the severe restrictions placed upon the occupations that Jews were allowed to perform. Roman Jews were allowed to work only at unskilled jobs, such as ragmen, secondhand dealers[6] or fish mongers. They were permitted to be pawnbrokers (which had been prohibited to Christians); and this activity excited the hatred of many Christians against them.
In the lottery game, they were allowed to bet only on low numbers (from 1 through 30), and all belonging to the same group of 10.[Note 3] In case of a draw of five numbers of that kind, the Romans said that on that day in the ghetto there was taking place a great feast.[7]
When Jews went outside the ghetto, the men had to wear a yellow cloth (the "sciamanno"), and the women a yellow veil (the same color worn by prostitutes).[6] During the feasts they had to amuse the Christians, competing in humiliating games. They had to run naked, with a rope around the neck, or with their legs closed into sacks. Sometimes they were also ridden by soldiers.[Note 4]
Jews had to petition annually for permission to live there. They paid a yearly tax for the privilege. thank you for being a great and patient source about correcting rabies misinformation. i had a rabies OCD post semi-breach containment (where people in the notes kept suggesting increasingly bizarre ways they thought i could hack my way into pre-exposure vaccination without any risk factors lol). i'm curious how you learned to do rabies education in an OCD-informed way, and do you have any tips for being clear about the facts while conscious of the ways that vigilance/checking/avoidance as the standard of prevention can get folded into compulsions?
Oh! Good question! So the OCD informed rabies education actually emerged because I was really confused at the sudden influx of questions that seemed almost exactly similar, as well as the large number of people that suddenly viewed me as the only person qualified to tell them whether they would live or die. Which was terrifying for me, actually. Because I am not a doctor, I am not qualified to do that. After a bit of digging, I found out it was an OCD thing, and I could work with that. I have a lot of experience working with folks with hoarding disorders (which is on the OCD spectrum), so I took my knowledge from that, as well as my knowledge from psychosis de-escalation training I received and really started to focus my education style around that. It is important to note though that I do not do rabies education specifically for folks with OCD. I do rabies education for the general public, but in a way that if folks with OCD come across it (as they so likely due because of compulsive searching,) it is less triggering. Here are some tips I have for speaking about rabies while minimizing the risk of triggering viewers with rabies OCD:
1. State the facts and cut the "what ifs"
I am not going to lie to people when they ask me questions like "Can birds get rabies?" But I am not going to entertain them with scenarios in which they might get rabies from a bird. Yes, birds can get rabies. No. You will not get rabies from a bird. I am not going to make up some crazy "what if" scenario where someone might get rabies from a bird and then talk about it.
2. No "Maybes."
If I do not know the answer to a question, I can reply with "I don't know" or even do some research and get back to the topic. But I am not going to respond with "mmm, maybe." That is stressfully and leaves too much room for spiraling.
3. Setting boundaries
I am not a doctor, I am an educator. I am qualified to teach you about the facts about rabies, but that is it. Often times people ask me if they might have been exposed to rabies as a form of compulsory reassurance seeking. I've gotten to a point now where I can tell when that is happening, and I will tell people that if they have concerns, call their local health department or go to the ER.
