KAIJUNE BABY
IT'S A NEW MONTH AND A NEW ART CHALLENGE
I haven't actually completed a kaijune before but I'm hopeful I might this year. I'm going to be taking it chill though, so don't expect colouring or proper scans necessarily. For instance:
TYPHON-X KAPPARYUGOMAN Gargant-class Mechanon Swamp-Dwelling Entity
This Kaiju's physiognomy suggests it previously existed as a variation on the Dracochargeman mechotype. These are among the most numerous Mechotypes across the multiverse, often acting as vanguards to a greater incursion of mechanons down the line. Some of these mechanons lie dormant for decades or even centuries after their hatching, shifting through various states while keeping their overall form.
Dracochargeman are also the first Mechanon design I fully solidified back in like 2010, and I haven't drawn them in years. Felt good to revisit the concept once more. Perhaps I'll colour this guy at some point this month, but I'm being chill with the colouring for now.
DAY 2: SENTINEL
SHIYANSHI
Corrupted Guardian Revenant
This collosal corpse was once the largest bronze statue in Asia, before an unknown Spellcaster brought it to life to protect its jungle home from invasion.
As the years continued, the lion-dog continued to grow in size and strength before a conflict with a being known only by the codename Argos inflicted a strange mutation upon it - the creature began to grow eyes between the folds in its skin and the curls of its mane. It became increasingly erratic until it underwent a full blown demonic transformation, charging into the forbidden city and laying waste to all it found.
The nightmare was ended by the sudden arrival of an enormous metal figure wielding the blade that now rests within the stump of its neck. Cutting the lion-dog down, the figure faded into darkness after its sword caught in the bones of the neck.
Since then, Shiyanshi as it has come to be known has been said to haunt the mists of china, its voice said to echo through the distant valleys and mountains. It has only manifested again during a handful of events, but each time it has portended absolute disaster. Any mortal who meets any one of its many eyes irrevocably loses their mind, said to have their souls cursed to the underworld forever.
