it's certainly different, and absolutely challenging considering the places you even can grow as a nsfw artist are ever-dwindling. i also didn't start entirely from 0, i already had a decent audience for my sfw webcomic, and i didn't mind pointing them toward the adult stuff in the beginning. basically all that is to say take my advice with a grain of salt. the environment in which i came up is different from the environment you're coming up in.

so here are my tips

do not do this for money. you are not going to make money. people that make money are the exception. going into it with that expectation will make you Insane when money doesn't immediately manifest. you have to approach this as a labor of love first, and if you get to a point where you think people will give you money, then you can try monetizing, but you will still not make money for a long time.

post a lot. i can attribute most of my success to the fact i post nearly every day. THAT SAID. i am only able to do that because i draw very quickly, and because my job is comics and i work from home. i am not a standard anybody should hold themselves to. but drawing quickly, and drawing efficiently, is a skill you can learn.

get good at drawing feet. not even in a foot fetish way, though people do love a good foot, but because convincing feet do an incredible amount of work toward looking like you know how to draw. even if your anatomy is a little off elsewhere, good feet will ground the drawing in reality. really this bullet is 'get good at drawing' but you don't need me to tell you that. practicing feet is just a great place to start.

have fun. don't draw what you think will be popular, unless it's something you actually genuinely love. if what really gets you going is crowd pleaser big titty babes, power to you. but don't do that because you think you have to. it is very obvious when you're only drawing the latest anime babe du jour for the numbers, and the rest of us sickos do judge you, and you will not develop an audience who loves your work for you. my audience loves my work because i made it and i'm the only one who could. the people who want to see frieren's bimbofied pussy can get that anywhere. what can they only get from you? figure that out.

I don't know where to start this post so uh.

The very basics is that we're being evicted from the land that we've been working for the last five+ years to turn into a profitable farm (*mumblemumble generational trauma and family infighting mumble*)

The good news: there's options near by and I'm relatively confident we can qualify for a farm operations loan to secure new land!

The bad news: since goImagine closed, we've had to completely rebuild the store on a new platform and traffic/sale have cratered because no one knows where to find us. That's where you can help!

I saw this when running newpipe. But wait, it gets deeper. I clicked on the details buttons and it said as of today,we have 83 days left until Google rolld out this new requirement for apps inside and outside of the google play store. If any developer disagrees with their new terms and fees, they will be blocked!

I am begging the UK trans community and its allies to attend the Mass Lobby at Parliament on June 25th, 11am-4pm, organised by Trans Solidarity Alliance.

The new EHRC Code of Practice pushes trans people out of toilets, hospital wards, and community spaces. It normalises gender policing based on appearance and stereotypes. It becomes statutory guidance in the UK by the end of June.

Trans people are now legally their assigned gender at birth and must join gendered spaces accordingly, but if they are perceived as their lived gender, they can also be ejected from those spaces. The guidance says: either break the law, or don’t pass too well.

A mass lobby is where you invite your MP to discuss your concerns with you in-person. Ask your MP to:

Demand full parliamentary scrutiny, debate, and use their free vote on the EHRC Code of Practice.

Support any motions rejecting the EHRC guidance. As of June 4th, Labour MP Nadia Whittome has submitted a prayer motion - Early Day Motion 240.

Write to Bridget Phillipson, the Minister for Women and Equalities about our concerns

Your MP does not have to be an ally, they do not have to respond to your email for you to show up and greencard them (details below the cut.) What matters is that as many people as possible show up.

I cannot stress this enough: Showing up in person matters. It is much more effective than petitions, emails, and letters.
