Dare I say that Padme dying from sadness is a bit misogynistic and out of character for her? She was a strong minded woman and while yes,she loved Anakin and was heartbroken by him turning to the dark side she wouldn't just let herself give up and die. She was a teenage queen who managed to save her planet and she was literally so good at it they tried to change the law for her. So Anakin turning to the dark side just...killed her? If she believed there was still good in him she'd stay alive to help him find his way back. I just didn't like how she died. I think it was just wrong
Yeah, plus she had two babies who depended on her, and she wouldn't have abandoned them (or endangered them, since she was still pregnant when she started dying and they would have died with her). This is why many people go with the theory that Palpatine actually drained her life force to keep Vaderkin alive while he was putting him in the suit.

Definitely agreed the whole "she died of a broken heart/lost her will to live" was a terrible explanation that should never have happened. That said, the EU writers unfortunately didn't indicate Palpatine was even responsible for her death (at least, not via that method. In fact, it's actually left debatable as to whether he COULD actually pull that bit off even if he wanted to, considering he had to rely on cloned bodies because he failed to master that ability in the old EU). If anything, the EU offered as an alternative explanation that Darth Vader outright killed her by accident via the force choke (really hated that explanation as well).
š¬ 0Ā Ā š 8Ā Ā ā¤ļø 16Ā Ā·Ā Maybe not explicitly, but there is a hint of Palpatine try to will Vader to live when he finds him on Mustafar. Besides, e
And that explanation of Vader's Force Choke having to do with PadmƩ's death doesn't make sense either because it would have led to her suffocating on Mustafar or while giving birth to the twins, which we already went over 2 years ago in the post above. That snippet in that novel was most likely a red herring to make that character believe that Vader was directly responsible for her death when he wasn't.
And Palpatine's failure to use that technique to save himself in ROTJ is no indication that he couldn't pull it off at all. As he noted himself, his master Darth Plagueis couldn't use it to save himself either, and he was supposedly legendary for having mastered it. They both must have needed enough time and concentration to pull it off, and both their deaths were quick and unexpected.
