now, that does not mean we discard the Old Testament altogether. Catholic teaching about human dignity and gender is founded in Genesis 1 “God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” The Church believes and teaches that God created each person with care and intention, and this includes their sex. Gender dysphoria, like every other physical or mental illness, is part of living in a fallen, imperfect world. it is not a sin to experience it since it is out of your control.
