FBI arrests woman who allegedly plotted ISIS-linked attack on New York state Capitol building

In September 2018, Diane Tirado, an eighth-grade social studies teacher at West Gate K-8 School in Port St. Lucie, Florida, was let go during her initial probationary period. On her final day, she wrote a message on her whiteboard letting her students know that she was fired for refusing to follow the school’s "no-zero" policy, which required teachers to assign a minimum grade of 50% even if a student turned in no work at all. Believing that rewarding zero effort undermines life skills and accountability, Tirado posted a photo of her whiteboard farewell on social media, where it quickly went viral.

The post sparked an international debate among parents and educators about academic standards and grade inflation. While St. Lucie Public Schools officially said that Tirado was dismissed as a probationary employee without a specified cause and denied that her firing was solely over the grading policy, citing performance issues and noting that teachers were encouraged to assign incomplete marks, Tirado stood by her position.

So much for taking one snap shot of your license plate. Yes, it’s Infrared Light and should be harmless. Yes your iPhone and TV remote use it. Yes the sun also produces it. Yes it may or may not go through the window tint of your car depending on what you have. Yes it will go through glass. The issue is that it’s being done without our permission, or our consent. Those are bedrocks of the 4th Amendment. It’s being done to conceal what’s happening. The old red light cameras didn’t go over very well because people could see the obnoxious flash. They knew they needed to hide these from the public, and it’s worked so far. Who knows what the next ones will be equipped with. What spectrums or wave lengths of whatever. It’s irrelevant though, harmless or not. They are illegal and should not exist in any form. Period.
