most novels at their core thematically are usually about some shit like the protagonist's bone-deep feelings of loneliness and isolation and their cravings for but inability to connect with other people. this is largely because novelists are sick freaks who are driven by their demons to spend hundreds of hours sitting alone in quiet rooms to write tens and thousands of words of text. they may not intend to write stories about loneliness, but by week six of the typing timeloop they are writing stories about loneliness whether they like it or not. writing a novel is not a naturally occurring healthy behavior, humans only do this when they are very distressed.
