Alver, like humans, have very expressive faces which play a major roll in interpersonal communication. They show a lot of emotion by moving their lips, snout, ears, eyes, and display fangs. Typically only males have enlarged display fangs, so fang position isn't a necessary part of expression for all alver. I have included it to provide more information.
Here you can also see pelt patterns typical of male alver. Males tend to have more spotted coats, mottled with patches of brown, grey, and/or white. Females tend to have solid coats or coats with very large blotches.
Emotions shown are:
Neutral: Ears held back, nostrils relaxed, eye slightly hooded and showing very little white, fangs relaxed, lips relaxed, fur smoothed.
Flehmen Response*: Ears up and forward, nostrils closed, eyes wide with little white, fangs forward, lips curled, fur slightly ruffled, mouth open.
Happy: Ears forward and down, nostrils flared, eyes wide with little white, fangs back, lips pulled straight on side and curled to form an O on the snout, fur ruffled.
Upset: Ears back, nostrils closed, eyes slightly narrowed and rolled to display the white, fangs forward, lips pulled back with open mouth.
Threat: Ears far back, nostrils closed or flaring open and closed, eyes very narrow and rolled to display the white, fangs far forward, fur ruffled, lips pulled far back to show shearing teeth and mouth open.
Excited: Ears up and forward, nostrils flared, eyes wide, fangs forward, fur ruffled, lips pulled straight and curled to form an O at the snout, mouth open.
*Alver posess a vomeronasal organ on the roof of their mouth, usually used for detecting sexual pheromones. They curl their lips and close their nostrils to draw air over the organ leading to a distinctive expression.
Up to date reference of Sunbeam! Plus some kee clothing. Their clothing tends to be pretty minimal if they can get away with it so that flight isn't impeded (kee clothing in general tends towards being lightweight).
An up to date reference for Viola. It's clothes here are for cooler weather than what I drew Sunbeam in. Since kee don't speak through their mouths or emote much with their faces a pretty common thing to wear for warmth is a hood that covers the whole head (minus the eyes and tympana).

An up to date reference for my marsupial guy. He's a great alv, a species of sophont marsupial in Sea of Spires. He is transmasculine, though this identity isn't viewed in his society exactly the same way as it is in contemporary western culture.
Alver in general tend to enjoy high contrast, often black and white, patterns in their clothing and tattoos. Bainan is no different, and his usual style of dress reads as pretty basic or maybe even a little tacky. He likes gold a lot, which can be seen in his accessories.

Alver are diprotodont marsupial sophonts native to the Terran biotope. They have moderate sexual dimorphism, with males being slightly larger and in possession of mobile display fangs. Female coat patterns tend to be less patchy and with fewer colors, tending towards solid coats, but there is a lot of variety in color and pattern so this doesn't always hold true.
Their society tends to be divided into two different family units. Females often form family troops consisting of related females, offspring, and current seasonal mates. Males either join troops (typically in a temporary seasonal fashion) or join bachelor groups consisting of unmated males who live together and share resources. Bachelor groups are often ephemeral, but some individuals regularly rejoin with the same group outside of mating season.
