Luckily now I am able to go on T after getting surgery, but others can't always get surgery to solve their conditions and then what advice will you give them? DIY HRT because it's more convenient? That advice could get them killed or seriously injured.

Any deviation from the norm will be punished, and I don't think it's fair to say transmasc people have it "easier" for being allowed to technically legally use women's spaces, that means nothing about social repercussions that can result in assault, death, and life long trauma.

(Not to mention if you actually advocate for yourself on your identity you'll probably be kicked out anyway for being too needy or for some fucked up sense of "affirming" your identity by not letting you in women's OR men's spaces; because to them you're neither an upstanding woman who deserves to be in their spaces, nor a real man, you're just a burden and a freak).

I remember when I was in alternative high school there was this girl who would always get half naked in the girl's room and parade around her belly bump to any other stranger in there cause she wanted to brag to everyone that she was late term pregnant. I told the counselor about how uncomfortable it made me cause 1. I was in the school for CSA related PTSD anyway so I hated anything sex or pregnancy related and 2. I was trans and closeted, and using the girl's restroom was already distressing enough. You wanna know what the school staff did? They didn't say anything to that girl; didn't do anything to stop her.

Instead what they did was, because I was transmasc, they had me use the nurse's bathroom all the way across the school everytime I needed to pee, just so I wouldn't make the other girls uncomfortable.

It became known after that what I was and the other girls in my school took it upon themselves to throw around the word "tranny" and talk about how much they'd hate it if someone thought they were trans, because OH! The horror! A trans person😱 the teachers wouldn't even tell them to stop, they would just LAUGH AT ME FOR GETTING VISIBLY UNCOMFORTABLE WHEN I HEARD THAT WORD COME FROM THOSE GIRLS' LIPS.

And I'm the lucky one here. I'm lucky the worst I got was getting sent to a different room and having slurs in my face; I've heard countless stories from other transmasc people about how they've been sexually assaulted by cis women because either they were too masculine/androgynous, or because the women found out how they identified and sought to "correct" that and mock it.

But tell me again how lucky transmasc people are for being "allowed" in women's spaces, as if that bare minimum support from anyone is enough. At best, you'll be constantly reminded of how different and repulsive you are, and at worst, you'll be raped and/or kicked out or arrested or FUCKING BEATEN TO DEATH and no one will give a fuck because YOU'RE the freak and how could a cis woman ever be the perpetrator of the problem.

This is not at all to say trans women don't also have it shitty, or that they have it better; but thinking that because trans women have it bad, that trans men MUST have it easier according to some weird oppression math equation in your head is just completely reductive and a false picture of how real life systems of oppression actually work.

There is no such thing as someone being privileged for being trans; yes they might have access to different gendered spaces in some case by case basis but that doesn't mean they will ever have what a cis person has. A trans man is not a cis man nor a cis woman; but some people think that a trans man magically has BOTH the privileges of each gender which is just. ridiculous. and not how that works. They think trans men have the privilege of being in male only spaces for how they identify, but ALSO female only spaces for their anatomy, and thus privilege no matter what. The truth is, in MOST CASES FOR MOST TRANSMASCS, that we either have access only to female spaces begrudgingly, or worse neither (either by our own choice of safety, or exclusion from cis people). Trans men will never have cis privilege or approval, no matter if we're female or male presenting. I don't know why people think we do, or that the worst oppression we face is being closeted; as if we don't have the highest rates of sexual assault amongst the genders.

It's generally agreed upon that as long as you're in the LGBTQ+ in any way you can. There's been debate if cishet GNC people can or if cishet people who've been called that word before can say it in reference to themselves but in the most basic sense, I'd say:

If you're using it to attack someone else, you're using it as a slur. Even if you're queer, you shouldn't call someone else that if they don't like it. Alternatively, you can say it in reference to your own queerness. I'm a fag and I'm trans, and that's okay to say.

most "afab trans women" are intersex people who are transitioning from being intersex to being women, or people who were assigned the wrong agab, etc, etc.
