If you've ever heard a movie score and thought "holy shit, this is incredible", there's like, a 50% chance it was Hans Zimmer who composed it.
This is a pretty major letdown, ngl.
Anyways, fuck transphobes, which includes Hans Zimmer, apparently.
Anyway shoutout to John Williams, amazing composer and probably the one who made the other 50% of "holy shit amazing" soundtracks (Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Superman, and incidentally the original Harry Potter theme and score) who famously worked closely with the first openly transgender woman to be nominated for an Academy Award, Angela Morley. He respected her, and so far as I can see, has never made transphobic remarks.
Having a httyd marathon rn (movie and tv show) and I never used to like Astrid's whole aggressive and man-handling behaviour in the first movie. But I just realized that, unlike the rest of the gang, she needs to pass the exam and to have the right to kill a dragon. Because in 'Fright of Passage' she revealed that her family name is literal shambles, nobody respects it after her uncle's confrontation with the Flightmare.
So, in the first movie, Astrid is literally fighting to bring back respect to her family name. Being the only child, she probably thinks the responsibility is all on her and so she pushes herself harder than anyone else. Not that it excuses her being a bit of a bitch, but the over-achieving attitude in her dragon training exams makes a lot more sense.

Practical tip for those dealing with wildfire smoke now: you can make a very effective air filter for a reasonable amount of money using a box fan & one of those filters meant for your furnace.
Also, I've managed to pick up 2 of the box fans for very cheap/free from yard sales. Make sure you get a filter rated for wildfire smoke, I think this one cost about $20.
These make a huge difference in the indoor air quality.
Posting again because of the fire situation up in Canada and resulting smoke. If you're dealing with wildfire smoke, these are surprisingly effective and relatively cheap.
Just tape the filter to the fan, making sure the air can't sneak around the edges. I used painter's tape, but I'm sure duct tape or similar would work just as well.

If you’re in an area with wildfire smoke, you need filtration. You need filtration that can handle wildfire smoke. There are three different popular rating systems for these, but here’s a quick guide: You want FPR 10, or MERV 13, or microparticle filtration rate of 1500 (or higher.)
You might not be able to smell the smoke, you might not be able to feel it happening, but if the air quality index says the air is bad then it is bad and your health is suffering. Your pets, too. You need clean air for your health.
Please note that you should not run a box fan filter unattended though. The extra strain of pushing air through the filter can burn out the motors in cheaper quality box fans, which can be a risk. I have killed a box fan this way. The signs of it dying are pretty obvious, you’re not going to miss that, but you wouldn’t want to keep the fan running while you left the house for a few hours.
Worth it for breathable air.
