Couple of things first: This was not an intentional breeding. Per the OP:

[we] went to have the corgi neutered when he was 4 months and my vet recommended I wait until he was a year old before neutering because they are known for having hip issues so I did. I had always planned to spay my girl when she was two but she ended up having eye surgery last year that was a little more costly than I anticipated

The OP, knowing that they had two intact dogs in the house at the same time, did the following to try and minimize their interactions:

She was in a diaper at all times and he was kenneled when I wasn’t home. I literally asked the same thing a million times because I just can’t wrap my head around it and quote a few people have told me they’ve seen females literally lay down for males while they are in kennels. Regardless, it’s my fault and I should have been more careful. Plus the two dogs in question are both merles and a merle x merle can lead to dogs with severe health issues. This was NOT an intentional breeding.

I remember when MeToo had its brief moment before Hollywood and the media shut it down. Men were saying "psh, these statistics are all so overblown. I dont know a single woman who has been assaulted, but the stats are claiming practically every woman has." And then people told those men to go home and speak to their wives. To ask their daughters if anything like that had happened to them. To phone their sisters and mothers and ask if theyd ever been harassed or assaulted by a man. To check in with their female friends and ask the same questions.

And some of those men went and asked the women in their lives. And any man who did was shocked to their fucking bones to learn that almost every single woman they know has faced some form of sexual harassment or assault. That in fact for women, this shit is fucking constant.

They probably thought they were being clever though, what with the blaming you for an injury you knew damn well you’d never given keeping one of them out of commission for a few months, then references to what they would ‘leave behind’ or ‘could not follow’ when in the latest death trap. One of them had accidentally pulled a pacifier out of their utility belt once, and tried to pass it off as being prepared for any young children they came across while rescuing.
