Now that all four of the Eclair candidates have had their spotlight episodes—I’m sticking firmly with my choice being Kurea. I don’t think any of the candidates ever came close, except for Rei. Let’s review:
Eriza—The curveball choice. Come on, did anyone really think that she was going to be the one? I like her, but let’s face it, she’s not cure material
Rei—The predictable choice. Oh, Rei, if you were in any other Precure season, you’d have been made the blue cure by now. She fits the standard studious blue cure template perfectly, but alas for her, she won’t get to be a cure. I’m kind of hoping that she’ll take on a Yui role, though. She can be a friend and ally of the cures without being one herself
Shiruku—The red herring. We haven’t had a red herring this big since Miyuki in Fresh! And I wouldn’t complain if it was her, but she’s clearly not Eclair.
Kurea—The obvious choice. All evidence points to her; her familiarity with Luluka, her instantly picking up on Anna’s homesickness, the fact that she can see Hannindas, her deduction skills, the fact that she’s a pastry chef, and eclair is a dessert—Need I say more? She’s Eclair, plain and simple. I can’t wait to see her transformation.
