Something neuroscience-y that helps with prose: attention is selective. A character will not notice everything in a room. They will notice what matters to their goal, fear, desire, training, wound, or obsession. A jealous character notices hands. a hungry character notices food. A soldier notices exits. A lonely character notices pairs. Description becomes character when attention has a bias.
Come to think of it, it really is insane that my entire country is burning alive and literally no one in the rest of the world cares. Thousands of Indians are dying every day from the heat, it's 45+ degrees in multiple areas, the government couldn't give two fucks, we're getting severe warnings and red alerts, and not a soul outside of South Asia is speaking about it because why would you ever care about brown people

The Chosen One Plot Twist
The prophecy was misinterpreted for thousands of years
The prophecy was fabricated all along, the chosen one implanted
Chosen ones are just expandable pawns, one failing after the other
The true hero is the sidekick or the antagonist
The chosen one just says no
It's not real evil they have to destroy, it's someone innocent and it turns into a moral dilemma
There are contradicting prophecies and more than one chosen one
The status of being the chosen one isolates and destroys them
To save the world they have to sacrifice who they love - and they are not ready for that
The person who grew up as the chosen one, never actually was the one in the prophecies
They were just chosen, because they were thought to be easily manipulated
They were never chosen to save the world, they were chosen to destroy it
Writing a novel when you imagine all you stories in film format is hard because there’s really no written equivalent of “lens flare” or “slow motion montage backed by Gregorian choir”
You can get the same effect of a lens flare with close-detail descriptions, combined with breaks to new paragraphs.
Your slow-motion montage backed by a Gregorian choir can be done with a few technques that all involve repetition.
First is epizeuxis, the repeating of a word for emphasis.
Example:
Falling. Falling. Falling. There was nothing to keep Marie from plunging into the rolling river below. She could only hope for a miracle now, that she would come out alive somehow despite a twenty-foot drop into five-foot-deep water.
Then there’s anaphora, where you write a number of phrases with the same words at the beginning.
There were still mages out there living in terror of shining steel armor emblazoned with the Sword of Mercy.
There were still mages out there being forced by desperation into the clutches of demons.
There were mages out there being threatened with Tranquility as punishment for their disobedience, and the threats were being made good upon.
Mages who had attempted to flee, but knew nothing of the outside world and were forced to return to their prison out of need for sustenance and shelter.
Mages who only desired to find the families they were torn from.
Mages who only wanted to see the sun.
This kind of repetition effectively slows the pace of your writing and puts the focus on that small scene. That’s where you get your slow pan. The same repetition also has a subtle musicality to it depending on the words you use. That’s where you get the same vibe as you might get from a Gregorian choir.

it's been said so so much but John Winchester meeting Cas would be hilarious and tragic and would probably not bode well for John, but seriously—
John would have to watch the tax accountant looking guy bring Dean tea in a honest to god porcelain teacup while he's researching a case. Quiet thank yous with bowed heads. Dean patting Cas' shoulder then do the Darcy hand clench. He'd have to watch as Cas heals his son with his wide palms and Dean gets all flustered. He'd have to watch Dean jump in front of guns for the angel who cannot be harmed like he's some sort of damsel in distress. He'd get a glimpse inside Dean's wallet while he pays for gas and see the printed out picture of Cas in a cowboy hat. Dean slipping in front of him and call Cas "sunshine" with no sarcasm behind it. He'd come back from the diner's bathroom to hear them deep into debating if ketchup's a vegetable. Cas' feathers in the Impala's trunk. Dean's mixtape in Cas' truck. Constantly texting. The staring. The handprint.
John Winchester would have to see for himself all the ways Dean became himself through his relationship with Cas. All the ways Dean spilled out of the mold John made him fit into, once he wasn't around anymore.

What happens when your character realizes they're in love...
Here are some things that may happen when your character realizes they are in love with someone. These can be totally obvious or be super subtle. I think that can depend on your character's mannerisms and personality! Have fun writing!
Notice everything. They start to notice things about the other person. Have freak outs when they notice they notice. They notice nervous ticks, small details no one else notices, patterns.
Hyperawareness. They become hyperaware of their own bodies and what they are doing as well as the other person’s body. They are unable to think about anything other than how close the person is. What they smell like.
They may change their behavior. They may become mean, guarded or distant. They may embrace it, try to see how the other person feels. All that matters is nothing is as natural as it had felt like before. They may realize they want to share everything with that person or notice that they have been sharing everything and stop. Inconsistencies may occur where they are normal one day and distant the next while they try to make it appear like everything is the same.
Self-sabotage. Not all characters will do this, sometimes they will. They might think that the relationship will never happen and that it is doomed before it starts. It may cause them to pull away even more, stop hanging out and “protect” themselves but ultimately push the other person away. Silence becomes deafening and everything is a sign of whether the other person feels the same.
a writer looking appraisingly at a bunch of tropes, and instead of "fuck, marry, kill," it's "use, avert, subvert"

Superhuman, the tech company behind the writing software Grammarly, is facing a class action lawsuit over an AI tool that presented editing suggestions as if they came from established authors and academics—none of whom consented to have their names appear within the product.
Julia Angwin, an award-winning investigative journalist who founded The Markup, a nonprofit news organization that covers the impact of technology on society, is the only named plaintiff in the suit, which does not call for a specific amount in damages but argues that damages across the plaintiff class are in excess of $5 million. She was among the many individuals, alongside Stephen King and Neil deGrasse Tyson, offered up via Grammarly’s “Expert Review” tool as a kind of virtual editor for users.
Imagine being a product manager in grammarly and going like "fuck yeah, we are going to add a a Stephen King agent to our product" without immediately having a little part of your brain that goes "uh the dude probably has enough money to buy our entire company three times over, and he could field an army of lawyers against us for using his name without his permission".

Yes, he's richer than the Pope, and that's important, but what's more important is that he's the rare guy who really did get where he's at through his own blood, sweat, tears, and a take-no-shit wife he very freely gives credit to (relationship goals: being Stephen King and always introducing your wife as "my wife, the author Tabitha King" because you legitimately think she's a better author than you). He started out as a kid sending short stories to the horror and SF magazines that were common in the 50s and 60s and stuck all his rejection slips onto a nail on the wall. Eventually he accumulated so many he had to replace the nail with a railroad spike because it would no longer support the weight of said rejection slips. The only reason he became The Horror Author Stephen King instead of "our high school English teacher Mr. King who writes sometimes" is because he hated Carrie and threw away the first part of the manuscript and a human being, his wife, pulled it out of the wastebasket and made him finish it. His wife is his beta reader. I didn't have to fish for all this information, either. This is stuff he's freely and repeatedly said. He needs a human being to bounce his second drafts off of and his wife is that human being.
They didn't just try to pretend an AI was him, they tried to pretend an AI was him doing the thing his wife does. Oh he's gonna take that as an insult to Tabby. This is gonna be a bloodbath.

What's been known for a long time it seems is that the parent company is owned by two Russians, based in Cyprus, and that it owns a cloud of youtube and other media channels, most of them dedicated to mindless content churning like 5 minutes crafts and a few others having done Russian propaganda such as slanted history articles.
The vid author ran a tracker that looked up the age of the commenters' *account*
This is a normal range for account ages in youtube comments:
And this is the age range for the commenter *accounts* on the 5 Minutes Craft channel: they are all newly created accounts and a majority of them are one second old.
It identifies major bot activity with the aim of creating an artificial audience, which in turns generates a huge ads revenue. This trafic and ads revenue is why the channel has a contract as an official partner with YouTube (-> massive revenue theft !)
Financially, the company is organised in offshore shell holdings that are based in money laundering countries (Seychelles, Virgin Islands). The founders were also named in the Pandora papers.
In 2020, the company, alongside other Russian Cyprus-based it companies, made a public donation that the vid author cross-referenced against a 2025 cybersecurity report, Deniability by Design, that alledged that the donation was connected to a criminal network, Vain Viper, that does ad fraud and cyberattacks.
One actor in that network was physically close to the company (office neighbirs and same lawyers) and appears to have been implicated in the hack of the Democratic National Committee.
