I find it funny how most working dog breeds are pretty cut-and-dry, they do exactly what it says on the label, but with hunting dogs it gets all No Such Thing As A Fish.
Like herding dogs herd, right? And shepherd dogs herd sheep. They make the flocks move where you want them to go. Some nip at their heels, some just use scare tactics, but their whole job is to make the flocks move. They run around them going hehe get relocated, idiots.
Guard dogs guard. Sure there's the patrolling alarm dogs whose whole job is to go around and supervise that nothing is out of place, and there's the four-legged security guard type that make sure that either the intruder leaves the premises on their own or with several limbs removed, but the principle is still pretty simple. This Is My House, My People, Our Livestock, And You Can Fuck Off.
But hunting dogs? Are we talking about the mushy temperament eager-to-please soft-mouthed retriever who can hold an egg in their teeth without breaking it? A bear dog that fucks off into the woods to find big game the size of a truck and then barks to keep it in place until the hunter with a gun can get there and deal with it? The noble dachshund that is specifically tube-shaped and audacious-natured in order to bolt into tunnels to go badger a badger in its own damn house? Or a pointer, who points.
My boyfriend's family's dogs are a very rare seal hunting breed, that are no longer used to hunt seals. They make pretty good alarm dogs, though, and for breaking your ear drums.
Or do you mean greyhounds, who seem to do very little, unless you turn you back on them for 2 seconds and they see a rabbit. By the time you look back, they are gone

paladins of atypical gods. a paladin of the god of storms whose divine smite is a literal bolt of lightning from the heavens. a paladin of one of the gods of death who seems scary but just wants the dead to receive justice and comfort.
a paladin of one of the "darker" gods who sees themselves as responsible for those that other paladins wouldn't protectβ those who are lost, those who maybe aren't innocent but who deserve compassion all the same.
hell, there's a god of thieves (and theyre chaotic neutral)! what does a paladin of the god of thieves look likeβ how do you have a stalwart defender of a group defined by its secrecy and fluidity? what are they defendingβ the right of thieves to exist? the value of individual moral codes over societal laws? the honor code of thieves? maybe they strike down "false" thieves, those in it for greed with no respect for the art of theft or the standards respected by other thieves.
and then there's oathbreaker paladins. i just think there are so many more interesting reasons to break an oath than "i didn't want to be good and help people anymore."
give me an oathbreaker paladin whose god commanded them to do something against their morals. who is now branded as a traitor to their god when really it's their god who betrayed them.
give me an oath of vengeance paladin who is tired, not as angry as they once were, and sick of bloodshed. who breaks their oath by sparing an enemy.
give me a paladin whose oath is noble but who is frustrated with the moral absolutism of it. who is sick of their power being dangled over their head, able to be taken away at the slightest mistake. a disciple of ilmater who has been told too many times to bear the suffering of others and for once wants to be cared for. a disciple of the god of fate, sick of being told that theirs and others' suffering is inevitable and unchangeable.

The family Zombie is a broad, overarching group that includes the genus that many people call zombie (Ghoulus, not to be confused with Ghouli, the unrelated genus of the Ghala family which also includes bogeymen and some ghosts*) as well as the Mummy genus (Pyrima), the spore-zombie genus (Fungan) and a few others.

Important note: sometimes youβll see people claiming that zombies are domesticated! They are not! Some zombies can be tamed (like Ghoulus romero), but zombies are wild animals and might hurt you if you approach them! Leave them alone and donβt feed them!
the closest to a domesticated ghost we have is the house ghost, Phantome domus (sometimes classified as a distinct subspecies Phantome domus domesticus).
P. domus is interesting because itβs like housecats β they are technically domesticated (scans have shown that the fight-or-flight response, like in domesticated animals, is weaker in P. domus than in related species like P. majestica, the manor ghost, or P. more, the cemetary ghost), but evidence suggests that itβs a naturalistic co-evolution rather than an intentional domestication process like with sheep or dogs.
If a house ghost takes up residence in your home, they are completely safe unless treated in an inhumane way. There is a stereotype of house ghosts that they are dangerous or volatile, but this is usually due to confusion with other species, especially the common poltergeist (Sellaruptor vulgaris) or vengeance spirit (Phantome odium).
