Re: Talia Bhatt

So to be upfront, I have VERY personal beef with Talia Bhatt as she helped spread my HAL to save her own skin, but that’s secondary here. I have an “impersonal” issue of her antiblackness, harassment of Black transfeminists, and attempt to officially revise her antiblackness into a “transmisogynist accusation” while hiding the actual details to highlight (I was not involved personally back then), as well as my personal experiences.

1. Antiblackness and transmisogynoir

Documentation and primary sourcing on this is minimal because most accounts discussing it across platforms have since gone private or deactivated, but I was able to acquire some to share including accounts from Black transfeminists active and involved at the time.

Circa 2024, Talia had a personal transfeminist discord that underwent a major split explicitly because of antiblackness within her server that she defended, instigated by a trans woman posting Nazi shit on Twitter. After this was addressed publicly by Keeks (absolvedhistory), a Black transfeminist, her and her faction proceeded to harass Keeks and other Black transfeminists, accusing the addressal of antiblackness to simply be transmisogyny.

On top of that, she later used an academic article to revise the history of her antiblackness and what occurred. I share the following screenshots rather than going and getting fresh ones mainly because this is what I already have in my phone and doing this shit is exhausting.

There’s also a public post from another transfeminist speaking on what was known of this incident in Transfeminist circles at the time.

So yeag I think, objectively, that she’s antiblack and transmisogynoiristic and her transfeminism is kinda worthless due to that outside of very specific and limited applications. It’s also wild to me how, because antiblackness is seen as not a serious issue beyond giving it empty acknowledgement within non-black anglophone transfeminism, she was able to not just be antiblack, but have it almost completely erased from the internet so she can be viewed solely as a “good” transfeminist theorist of color who’s books are in bookstores and is regularly talked about in the same sentences as Serano, etc.

Because she’s dating my ex Katrafiy and also nonwhite, over on Bluesky she got accused of being a racefaking account I was using to keep publishing theory after I got doxxed and put in a psych ward due to serial harassment and trying to kill myself. To rebut that, she threw me under the bus by repeating a bunch of shit from my HAL as if it was fact and proof why she wasn’t me. Same clique that helped her harass Keeks and other Black transfeminists backed it up and kept repeating it all.

Thing is, I hadn’t even wanted Talia involved in the first place. At the time, my ex Kat had previously been explicitly spreading my HAL and supporting the people who HAL’d me repeatedly, including giving them personal information on me despite knowing and having previously told me she knew it was all lies.

When I asked a mutual who was a brown transfeminist for input, I explicitly asked them not to tell her and it happened anyway.

A month after this is when I got doxxed on Bluesky and harassed into attempting suicide, and in the past year I learned my ex Kat provided some of the info used to doxx me to the person that instigated and coordinated it.

Since her friends talking about it rn, has Talia done anything yet to address her antiblackness and act in a reparative fashion towards those she harmed or is she still pretending it was an attempt to HAL her and getting it laundered through academic articles?

Is the clique perhaps critiquing a style of justice primarily built from the work of Black activists and abolitionists who see a need for alternatives to Literal Slavery As Punishment or Mob Justice Lynchings because they never touch shit on the topic written by Black authors or taking a second to understand it beyond the white abstracted concept they are likely only familiar with?

Shit, do they even know who Mariame Kaba is?

Anyway, I include foundational works on restorative justice, transfeminism, womanism, abolition, and more for free in my Transfeminist Womanism drive, including a “foundational” folder that acts as a guide to basic concepts and writings in each of those, which they all could probably use.

not to be a critic, but its crazy to me that they could not speak either TO or ABOUT the people affected by this ruling (trans girls in conservative areas) at all. a combination of transmisogyny and shitty reporting means that the takeaway from that segment seemed to be "well, it sucks, but at least blue states are still allowed to be accepting of trans youth" rather than the very real attempts to eradicate trans people from public life or the very real possibility of violent retaliation against trans girls in these states.
