5. do you use a beta reader?

8. what WIP are you most excited about?

right now, most excited about my time-loop Mulder/Krycek X-Files WIP, which is super fun to write (I feel like time loops are always super fun, even though this is the first I've written! I always enjoy time loop episodes of TV shows).

18. what's a trope you want to write but haven't written yet?

ha, I started to write a long post about amnesia fic and exploring a character's identity and how much their history shapes who they are, and then remembered that I literally did that in beast of empok nor. whoops. I would like to do that in a more real-world setting (ahem who would Tim "Dumpster Fire" Gutterson be if he forgot his own history).

so. hm. I feel like I'm very self-indulgent and just start writing whatever I want to write, so I don't know that there are tropes I want to do but haven't. I have two different movie AUs (Con Air and Rambo: First Blood) that seem tailor-made for Tim Gutterson and Raylan Givens, but haven't made it far into writing those. let's say I am always open to suggestions for fun tropes with my usual pairings.

which of your fics is your pride and joy?

cheating by answering two. o tempora, o mores is my best beloved Justified pre-series outsider POV Tim Gutterson fic and I love it so much that sometimes I just reread it because I'm having feelings and want to have more feelings.

the beast of empok nor is my close-canon divergence Garak/Bashir DS9 fic and I'm still really happy with how it came out. It was a play on a Beauty and the Beast AU that worked surprisingly easily.

4. how long do you spend editing?

not nearly long enough, probably. I tend to tweak as I'm writing, and then I put it into the AO3 box, click Preview, and go through like six rounds of noticing issues, fixing/changing wording, and clicking Preview again. I don't really do any big-picture editing because I tend to post chapter by chapter as I go and I write fic for fun so I don't make myself do the harder parts.
