It's the same beef I have with Fallout. I know they excuse humans being so slow to redevelop society with all "knowledge being lost in the war" but that's just...not how things work. Humans figured out construction and farming very early. There's no way for humans to truly forget how to do this stuff, especially since people survived and could preserve and share what they know. But I just cannot fathom how in 300 years no one's figured out construction or fiber arts or soap making or anything humans have historically figured out super early in the process of being human.

And the only way I can see someone write a world like that is if they either didn't care (fine, it's not real and I get digging the apocalypse vibe) or were so divorced from the process of labor and creation that they actually think those things are way too hard for someone to figure out on their own.

If you think humans couldn't do these things without being taught or helped you have a very warped idea of technological progress and human ingenuity. No one taught humans how to build and create, we figured it out on our own, and it was not just smacking rocks together until something clicked either, ancient humans were just as intelligent as modern ones, they could use logic and reasoning to figure out how to do something new based on what they already know.

The NIMBY King of California hates homeless people. Seems to have taken a liking to punishing the houseless to a particularly absurd degree instead of examining why there are so many houseless people. As one of the articles noted:

The primary causes of homelessness are the inability to afford housing and the severe shortage of affordable homes. In California, for every 10 of the lowest-income households, there are just two apartments that are affordable and available to them.

Or how he blocked funding to menopausal treatments which Halle Berry said succinctly:

"...Newsom has vetoed our menopause bill, not one but two years in a row. But that's OK, because he's not going to be governor forever. And with the way he's overlooked women, half the population, by devaluing us in midlife, he probably should not be our next president either."

He also vetoed Data Privacy bill that would have allowed Californians to opt out of data collection services and vendors with a single click.

He countered Trump’s National Guard surge by sending swathes of state and local police to crack down on Californians.

He called the illegal detainment of Kilmer Abrego Garcia “a distraction” and wanted to shift the focus on Trump’s trade policy as if ICE being used as a secret police isn’t more pressing.

I’ve been saving up my updates because I didn’t want to not go in half-cocked when I make these. It’s the autism in me. And honestly, I am not a Californian and no one hates Gavin Newsom more than Californians across the aisle and all political ideologies.

So a lot of my trans allies have noted that I did not mention any of his offenses towards their community. I just want to ensure you that I ain’t forget. I wanted to wait for it to build up.

Gavin Newsom has fell into the trans athlete hysteria that has been a dog whistle as he stated in an interview with Charlie Kirk. Note that he is only doing this in accordance to Democrats as a whole turning their backs on trans rights seeing the issue as too difficult to defend.

Trans folks are abnormal according to Gruesome and centering any platform defending them on any nominal level is an anchor that Democrats should discard from their necks.

Gavin has done a lot of legislative work in support of trans people such as protecting them from being outed as transgender in schools, ensuring that incarcerated transgender people are sent to the prison of their associated gender, and turned California into a sanctuary state for families seeking gender affirming care.

Lately, however, he has quietly(legislatively) turned the corner on his support of trans rights.

And then he would then sign the most pro-trans rights bill of any governor in the United States(according to him and Ezra Klein.

Point is that Newsom is a politician. If the block gets too hot on trans rights, he will verbally agree with transphobic sentiment while legislatively support them mostly. He will throw you under the bus to score political points.

I am begging the UK trans community and its allies to attend the Mass Lobby at Parliament on June 25th, 11am-4pm, organised by Trans Solidarity Alliance.

The new EHRC Code of Practice pushes trans people out of toilets, hospital wards, and community spaces. It normalises gender policing based on appearance and stereotypes. It becomes statutory guidance in the UK by the end of June.

Trans people are now legally their assigned gender at birth and must join gendered spaces accordingly, but if they are perceived as their lived gender, they can also be ejected from those spaces. The guidance says: either break the law, or don’t pass too well.

A mass lobby is where you invite your MP to discuss your concerns with you in-person. Ask your MP to:

Demand full parliamentary scrutiny, debate, and use their free vote on the EHRC Code of Practice.

Support any motions rejecting the EHRC guidance. As of June 4th, Labour MP Nadia Whittome has submitted a prayer motion - Early Day Motion 240.
