THIS IS SO COOLđđđ
I try to buy from small and local business in my own community as much as possible, but this makes it so you can find and shop other small businesses in other locations, as well. With a lot of small businesses being hit so hard by coronavirus lockdowns and/or restrictions, this can literally save a business from having to close. Also, if you have a business, you can contact them and get listed on the site.
Did some reading and as of 3/17/21 the model is businesses pay $4 a month flat fee to be listed, so unlike other aggregator sites like Etsy, they donât take a percentage of each sale or profits.Â
welp. i was THISCLOSE to posting an adolescent âi hate everythingâ post⌠and then i saw this.
Literally just let this play 8 times in a row and my smile never faltered even once đ
This healed meâŚ.

undertale meta deepdive: sans is not a good person (OR the sans theory masterpost pt. 1)
Part 1 || Part 2
Sans is far from this valiant epitome of good that the fandom so often paints him as. Heâs not a heroâhell, he might even be a bad, terrible person. At least in the past. My intention in this post isnât to crush popular fandom interpretations of Sans in a bad faith argument, rather, it is to challenge preconceptions that have existed for years and to open up discussion on the dubious morality of this popular and loved character; I certainly love him a little more after doing this analysis.Â
Section I - A Bad Person (The âWhatâ)
Sans is certainly not opposed to leaving us little breadcrumbs for us in regards to his mysterious past. We get the idea that Sans is separated from his home, likely due to something he did. Something he had thought was important. Something that led him to take his home for granted.
So based off of the previous dialogue, this âtypeâ that he intimately knows⌠heâs talking about himself. He was very âdeterminedâ to do whatever he did, which cost him his home, likely nearly everything he cared about given his angst.
So letâs say Sans used to be âdeterminedâ.
Sans is also aware of the SAVE function, meta knowledge that only the player and Flowey should know about because they have or have had this ability in the past.
âTake it from meâ: accept that what I say is true, because I know or have experienced it. Sans should have quit when he had the chance. Never satisfied, too determined to bow out. But is he talking about the same thing weâve been doing?Â
When Sans threatens us with the infamous âbad timeâ, he is NOT referring to the fight⌠but what comes after, because only after he is struck down, he gives us one final piece of advice:
But HOW does he know that the world is going to be thrown into the âabyssâ? Unless he has experienced this first-hand.
This is Papyrus confronting us in the genocide run antecedent to his fightâŚ
âŚand this is him on Sans. An eerily mirrored piece of dialogue from Papyrus describing us and his brother. What do we know so far? Both Sans and the player need to be kept on âthe straight and narrowâ, both are âdeterminedâ, and both do irreparable damage to the world, possibly sending it to âthe abyssâ.Â
Purgatory: a place or state of suffering inhabited by the souls of sinners who are expiating their sins before going to heaven. Not to mention the suspicious usage of the word âabyssâ by Papyrus.
From the evidence gathered, it seems that the reason why Sans isnât able to return to his world is because he destroyed it in the same manner we destroyed Undertale in the genocide run. Why else would he say âtake it from meâ; he empirically knows what happens when the world is pushed to its very limits.
But which world could he have destroyed? What world did Sans come from?
(Continues under the cut because this gets really long.)

Lol, here's a fun one: if you had been born in the medieval era and without access to modern medicine, how long would you have lived? If I managed to survive being born (unlikely) I would have died at age 22 from appendicitis :) hbu?
Without glasses I'm functionally blind. I can see overall, but not details-- people's faces, stairs, sharp side of the knife, etc. Ye olden times would have put me to work doing something stationary and probably I'd have been thought of as a bit dim. So basically no change from now. Cool.
I would have died of a combination of toxicity, hemorrhage and starvation within hours after birth. My digestive tract was all messed up and needed reconstruction.
I *might* have survived a breech birth, but I doubt my mom would have.
Probably the crazy bad abscess in my mouth after breaking my front 2 teeth on the sidewalk when I was 10.
My parents divorced when I was an infant. Shortly thereafter, my mother had appendicitis. I would've starved when she died from that.
Wouldn't have made it through childbirth. I was breech and apparently tried going feet first.
I caught the tail end of the '68 flu pandemic, got secondary infections that went systemic, had a humungous penicillin shot in the ass, lived past age 6.
Males in my family need a gamma globulin injection to kick start our immune systems. I likely wouldnât have gotten to be a year old. The chronic tonsillitis at age 5 is just an extra nail.
Fuck, Iâm barely surviving in this century.
Being born with ADHD I had really difficulty feeding as a baby, and when my mom switched me to bottle early because I wasn't getting enough food, we found out I was lactose intolerant AND allergic to soy.
So most likely would have starved within a few months after birth.
unmedicated, my mother would have gotten me by 10 or so. If i survived all that, my teeth might still have broken and become infected by 23.
When I was 4 years old, I got choked on alphabet soup. Doctor said I had the biggest tonsils he'd ever seen. I was terrified to eat even before the soup and so they did emergency surgery bc I was starving myself. My ribs stood out very clearly.
Ripping those bitches out wouldn't have been possible back then.

The dude is having an existential crisis at the end and I UNDERSTAND
Iâm still reeling over the fact when I went with my friend to a renaissance fair, there was a lady who was handing out samples. My friend took a bite of it and all I heard was
âMy lord thatâs soapâ
Is that Roman Bath? 'Cause our Faire has Roman Bath that hands out lil soap samples and apparently someone ALWAYS eats the soap. I developed a habit of wandering by at least once a day and going 'so how many?' and the sample hander-outer would be "Three today" or "Six and it's not even lunchtime, what the hell". On one occasion "Two, but one of them went 'ooh, soap' before she bit into it and I'm still confused."
the sentiments "completely sterilized fiction absent of any of the bad or evil things that happen in real life is neither inherently good storytelling nor morally superior" and "holy fuck you shouldn't be producing child porn" are not mutually exclusive and there is, in fact, nuance in the world
this is how I feel about generational conflictÂ
This is accurate as hell.
Like hereâs the thing: I donât care if young kids make fun of my generation. Itâs not hurting anyone and to be honest, I have faith in the next generation. Theyâre smart, talented and Iâm happy for that. Shouldnât we all be happy that the next generation is learning from past mistakes
itâs just hard not to think about the fact that in 1915, JRR Tolkien went to war not with but certainly in the same army and many of the same battles as his 3 best school friends, all nicely upper class young men who had never known much loss, and only he and one other came back alive - and a couple decades later, he wrote a book in which 3 nicely upper class young men (and one very excellent gardener) who have never known much loss go to war together, or at least they start out together, and they all come home alive. (Though one cannot bear it, and does not stay.)
What more it wasnât just losing his friends, he was a commanding officer of a battalion of working class men. All farmers and miners from the same area of Lancashire. He felt affinity for them, but wasnât allowed to socialize between the ranks due to military protocol and he hated it.Â
"The most improper job of any man ... is bossing other men. Not one in a million is fit for it, and least of all those who seek the opportunity."
I donât think it was even 6 months later that he contracted trench fever and was sent home.Â
His entire command was wiped out in one charge shortly after, the majority of a whole countrysideâs youths slaughtered while he survived. Youths who were brave and steadfast, but thought of as lesser than their superior officers while still being the ones carrying the actual battle. Youths who deserved fellowship, respect, and above all to go home and dance with their own Rosie.
âMy Sam Gamgee is indeed a reflection of the English soldier, of the privates and batmen I knew in the 1914 war, and recognised as so far superior to myselfâ.Â
TRIES NOT TO CRY
There is a reason Frodo, who represents the English gentry, in the end falls and is caught by Samwise, who represents the common man.
But there is a soldier in Lord of the Rings who does not come back, and I donât mean Boromir.
I mean the being who was a common hobbit, but who became corrupted by darkness and poison, whoâs face is described in ways reminiscent of a gas mask.
The soldier who doesnât come home, who is poisoned by gas and stress and insanity.
Is Gollum.
The Lord of the Rings repeatedly stresses the horrors of war. Eowyn's entire arc is about the truth of warfare versus the way it's glorified. She starts out glorifying war and combat and soldiers, even when her own brother is telling her war sucks and is terrible. And then in the end, she sees first hand what war does to people.
Aragorn's entire arc isn't to be the steadfast hero saving the day, it's to hold the line in terror and horror and blood while the overlooked folk are the people who save the world. And then, what makes him a king, is not his skill in battle, but his healing hands.
Which then ties into both Eowyn and Faramir's arcs. Eowyn goes into healing not because she's a weak and meek woman, but because war is horrible and saving lives is better than taking them. Aragorn is glorified within the text for his healing, and so is Eowyn.
Also, tying into the common man thing, in the movies it's Faramir but in the books it's SAMWISE who questions what brings a man so far from home to fight in a war and if he is really so different.
LOTR is anti-war propaganda.
"LOTR is anti-war propaganda"
All good war stories are
Also look at how many of the battles are told in flashback
