A healthy and flavorful vegetarian burger made with edamame beans, packed with protein and spices. Perfect for a meatless meal.
Ingredients: 2 cups edamame beans, shelled. 1/2 cup breadcrumbs. 1/4 cup diced onion. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1/4 cup chopped cilantro. 1 teaspoon ground cumin. 1/2 teaspoon paprika. Salt and pepper to taste. 1 egg. 4 whole wheat burger buns. Lettuce, tomato, and condiments for serving.
Instructions: Cook the edamame beans in boiling water for 3-4 minutes, then drain and rinse with cold water. In a food processor, combine the edamame beans, breadcrumbs, diced onion, minced garlic, cilantro, ground cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Pulse until well mixed. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and stir in the egg until everything is thoroughly combined. Form the mixture into four patties and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm up. Preheat your grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat. Grease the grates with oil to prevent sticking. Grill the edamame burgers for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they have grill marks and are heated through. Toast the whole wheat burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until lightly browned. Assemble your burgers with lettuce, tomato, and your favorite condiments. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious Edamame Burger!
