An aromatic plant originating in the dry scrub in Africa and Asia Ocimum basilicum (sweet basil) thrives in the heat. Seeds are raised in a glasshouse or on a warm windowsill, and the plants moved outside in summer. There are many cultivars with different leaf shapes, colours and flavours.

It's also a good source of calcium, magnesium, and omega-3 fatty acids. Sweet Basil isn't simply for internal use. When basils oils are extracted to make an essential oil, it. can be used fir treating cuts, wounds, and skin infections. Dark Opal Basil the dark color leaches into the infusing vinegar, leaving it a beautiful shade of burgundy. They can make purple pesto or use the leaves as a garnish for desserts, salads pizza and pastas. Opal basil can replace green varieties in most other recipes calling for standard sweet basil. Cinnamon Basil can be grown next to tomato plants. it will enhance the flavor of the tomato and repel mosquitoes and white flies. A week ago, I decided to begin a cleanse... Not because it was 420 & I needed to pass some drug test, not because I am overly religious (which I'm not) & not because I want to lose weight.
I am doing this for myself & myself alone. Internally, I haven't been feeling my best. Spiritually I can feel something weighing me down.
This cleanse will consist of mainly liquids; juicing all fruits & vegetables, drinking teas & preparing my own soups. At home enemas & baths using essential oils are also a huge part of this process.
My mother and I will be going through this experience together not only because we need it, but because the support and encouragement goes a long way.
If anyone has anything to add, drop the jewels below & please don't offer me anything I can chew if it's not GREEN🌱🍏🍐🍈!
A sweet and tangy twist on the classic Caprese.
Ingredients: 3 tomatoes. 1 fresh mozzarella ball. 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves. 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar. 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Cut up mozzarella and tomatoes. Put them on a plate in a circle. Put basil leaves in between the slices. Put olive oil and balsamic vinegar on top. Add pepper and salt. Serve right away.
