Crackpot theory but doesn’t Jamil have middle school friends he used to get into trouble with at the bazaars. What if one of those friends was actually Minajael in their commoner disguise and Jamil never knew
🤯
That’d be crazy… We thought Jamil’s middle school friends might be twisted!Iago but it might’ve been Minajael in his commoner cosplay all along…
Jamil often talks about his middle school friends and the activities he used to do with them. He sometimes mentions specific individuals, including one that he got into an awful fight with over something trivial, and one (not sure if it's the same person or not) that keeps eating his snacks. It also seems there was one specific friend that Jamil and Najma often went to Camel Bazaar with.
Some specific things to point out that could potentially connect back to Minajael and/or Jasmine:
Jamil mentions he and his friends would attempt to barter. While it's not exactly the same thing, Aladdin does use his fast-talking to get Jasmine out of a sticky situation with an angry merchant.
Jamil and his friends used to swipe food from the bazaars and markets. In the film, Jasmine hands an apple to a hungry child without realizing she has to pay for it--so she technically stole food.
Jamil says he has "largely fallen out of contact" with classmates from his previous school. While we don't have the details of his previous schooling, it was likely back in the Scalding Sands, since he mentions hanging out in the bazaars in middle school. This would place him in the general proximity of where Minajael would be, given that Minajael is the Scalding Sands' first prince.
Jamil got into a "really bad fight" with a friend. Could this be a reference to when Jasmine confronted "Prince Ali" and exposed him as the boy she met in the bazaar (a scene which takes place after A Whole New World)?

Now THIS is a deep cut reference if I've ever seen one. From Mickey's House of Villains.
I do find it funny that a DisneyToon special would use the same recycle method that the company had to do with their movies during the 60s and 70s.

This was the most excited I've ever had drawing. And I really want to see Jafar's nanny taking care of little Jasmine, then he was teased by her.
By the way, the girl in the middle at the top is Jafar's twin sister Nasira
