So we discover that Coldstone is glitching out because of the protection on the files Xanatos was trying to steal. Interesting. I wonder how much of this gamble he'll feel like he 'won.' It's certainly why he's not using anything he's valued enough to have already had active on his board. An old project that failed is the perfect tool to try to make the attempt. But it makes it all the more likely to me that he completely hijacked the system, and none of the Colds were involved until the virus.

So I guess the best theory I can bring to mind is that for some reason, Coldsteel and Coldfire's souls were just like... too closely linked to Coldstone's that they got pulled in? It works better than anything else I've come up with so far, and I think for people who enjoy them, that might just be enough. My brain doesn't like it all that much still. I guess if I have to imagine a soul, I don't much care for the idea of hangers' on like that. I could dig Coldfire going along because the shared connection between her and Coldstone, but Coldsteel? I never get any feelings that Coldfire actually has anything for Coldsteel.

Okay so that seals it. Coldstone and Coldsteel were lovers once. They 'grew apart' but it was really Coldstone who fell out of love with Coldsteel, and Coldsteel was too proud to admit that he wasn't also feeling more like friends with Coldstone, so he's jealous and conniving when Coldstone gets together with Coldfire. He wants to split them up so it's Coldstone who comes to him while emotionally wrought.
