Some interesting things here!! Let's try to go in order XD
Something is absolutely going to be made of the fact that Coldfire immediately flies down to Goliath upon waking. It's going to be used as some sign of disinterest in Coldstone, but what I read instead is that she actually doesn't make her affection of Coldstone her entire personality! And I like that!! XD She is trapped in here with Coldstone so a) she's excited for another presence and b) she might be having complex feelings about being trapped with literally anyone at this point and like... good for her! XD
But her haste to get to goliath is not a sign of affection. It's actually really interesting to me how uncomfortable she looks with Goliath's hug. Is that behavior not normal? I can buy it. He's still so desperate for hope of other gargoyles, especially from his own clan. He is working from a place of joy and relief, whereas I think Coldfire is in a state of distress.
WHICH IS SO FUN! Because like, this is more life than she's had for a thousand years, and it's not enough that it's some sort of life. That is not enough to make her grateful for this limbo! Love that.
And lastly, here is a piece of worldbuilding I clearly didn't pay close enough attention to but @mostnormalheartslabyuulstudent pointed out to me! I think I'd always read this as the pieces being pieces of their soul. I was thick an didn't pick up on the implication that quite literally it was pieces of the gargoyles. I'm such a goddamn concrete thinker that the show never giving signs (that I caught) that the pieces of their bodies were still around and not worn away and blown off through time.
I'm still not sure I can say I'm a huge fan of this plot, but it's a better explanation than I could imagine. But also.... XD How would SHE know? lkdjfoi
