Here’s some positivity for systems with covert switches!
Not every system has switches that are obvious with members that behave in unique or distinct ways! Many systems may find that their switches go unnoticed by others, and may even experience switches that the system themselves struggle to detect! There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a covert system or experiencing covert switches - this post is for systems who fit this description!

My DID presentation is in-between being overt and covert. As in, if you don’t know me well, I seem inconsistent and a little odd, but if you do know me and my symptoms well you can probably tell it’s DID, and you can see the differences between alters. We all have different preferences in how we dress and what we do. We have different ways of talking, some of us can’t even talk at all. Some of us are incredibly feminine, and some of us get horribly dysphoric from presenting like that. If you don’t know us then yes, we just seem weird, but if you know then those patterns are easier to pick up on and it’s not too hard to figure out who’s fronting.

System B kept at their task without even lifting their chin. Person A called to them a few more times, increasing in volume slightly, "Headmate B1? Headmate B1?" and they still didn't react.
Sighing, Person A said, "System B?"
System B looked up cheerily. "Yeah?"
"Who's fronting right now?"
"Headmate B2."
"No wonder you weren't responding!"
I think I switched and communicated with an alter today. Yesterday I had picked some tasks to do today and I started to get anxious I wouldn’t do them this morning and then feel like shit, and I felt like I was possessed as I started getting dressed and packing a bag. I went from anxious and wanting to be lazy to walking literally 3 miles to do more errands than I needed all over my neighborhood over like 5 hours in 90 degree weather. Three big things stand out to me; I’ve obviously been thinking about possible having did/osdd a lot lately, and when I felt a part of myself resisting the goals I’d set for today, I asked if anyone was there for their help, and that’s when I completely pivoted from thinking I was going to bargain w myself and set a timer to be lazy for a while before going to force marching myself around town. It feels like I called for help and they answered, I made an effort to try to communicate my gratitude to that alter, if that’s what happened. Another thing, or maybe 2 things. I tried to ask how many alters I have and what the name of the alter who was fronting (or co-fronting? Idk) and I’m not sure if the thoughts I had were their answers or thoughts that popped into my head not from them or thinking I might get an answer. I am still kind of unsure if I am a system/a member of a system, but I feel like today was another day in a row since a system friend of mine suggested I was also a system that I’ve felt/experienced a lot of evidence for it.
