“Everyone’s good at something.”

Pallon always hated the saying.  He felt almost guilty of the fact.  His father used to say it, with that attemptedly comforting smile of his and a ruffle of Pallon’s hair that he thought his son liked.  “You’ll find out what yours is someday,” he’d add.   He meant well.  He always did.  It’s the thought that counts, right?  Especially after he passed away—the voice and the smile were just memories, now—he should love everything he could remember.

But Pallon hated it anyway.  He hated it cause it pushed him to get his hopes up, hated it cause it meant it wasn’t okay to be mediocre.  He would have been fine with just that, didn’t need to wait for some long-hidden talent to show itself. The galaxy was full of average people, and it shouldn’t mind one more.

His boots stuck to the floor when he walked, sticky red sucking at the soles as he stepped over the bodies.  The smell of it hung heavy in the air, clogging his throat and stinging his eyes, but he’d long since learned not to gag.  The reek was as familiar as factory exhaust and mildewed pipes and rotting garbage used to be.

If the fandom doesn’t think of me as “ugh it’s that kid who’s obsessed with nautolans” yet, I’m probably doing something wrong.

When the inhabitants of Tatooine say a day is hot, they really mean it.  The Anchorage cantina was crowded and noisy, every spacer and merc and moisture farmer crowded in its shaded refuge while the suns beat down savagely outside.  The lack of elbow room was getting to some of them, and every now and then a scuffle would break out between a couple of patrons who’d been cooling themselves down with too much jev juice.  No one paid them much mind.

Okay so Asexuality Awareness Week is coming up starting October 20! 

I think it’s a great opportunity to celebrate asexuality not only as a legitimate and acceptable thing, but also as something worth including in the stories we choose to tell and the characters we give life.

Being that the SWTOR fandom has so many absolutely amazing ace-spectrum characters, I think it would be awesome to take the week of October 20-26 to write about them or post screenshots or headcanons or basically anything and everything.

Whether the focus of their posts is their sexuality doesn’t matter—this is about celebrating ace characters as full-fledged people who can be just as awesome and interesting as anyone else! 

Just use tag will be #aces in space for anyone who wants to track it; if there’s enough participation, I may make a separate blog to gather what people make.
