Being a calm, gentle, non-reactive person is really hard work, which is probably why many people are none of these things. Personally I think itβs worth it but sometimes one does want to just roll around on the floor wailing at the top of oneβs lungs
People in my notes who think Iβm repressed or dissociating: you will feel better when you learn emotions are not a binary of Not Feeling It vs Being Overwhelmed By It

Transphobia is about to be signed into law in the UK. We can fight this.
I am begging the UK trans community and its allies to attend the Mass Lobby at Parliament on June 25th, 11am-4pm, organised by Trans Solidarity Alliance.
Last year we broke the record for an LGBT+ mass lobby of Parliament. Will you help us break it again? Join us on 25th June 2026 to demand be
The new EHRC Code of Practice pushes trans people out of toilets, hospital wards, and community spaces. It normalises gender policing based on appearance and stereotypes. It becomes statutory guidance in the UK by the end of June.
Trans people are now legally their assigned gender at birth and must join gendered spaces accordingly, but if they are perceived as their lived gender, they can also be ejected from those spaces. The guidance says: either break the law, or donβt pass too well.
A mass lobby is where you invite your MP to discuss your concerns with you in-person. Ask your MP to:
Demand full parliamentary scrutiny, debate, and use their free vote on the EHRC Code of Practice.
Support any motions rejecting the EHRC guidance. As of June 4th, Labour MP Nadia Whittome has submitted a prayer motion - Early Day Motion 240.
Write to Bridget Phillipson, the Minister for Women and Equalities about our concerns
Your MP does not have to be an ally, they do not have to respond to your email for you to show up and greencard them (details below the cut.) What matters is that as many people as possible show up.
I cannot stress this enough: Showing up in person matters. It is much more effective than petitions, emails, and letters.
It is a horrible, stressful time, and I am so sorry if you're trans and live in the UK. But I was at last year's mass lobby and the line for greencarding alone stretched around the back gates. It was a record breaking mass lobby and made us impossible to ignore. Let's do even better this time. Details under the cut:
Worried about what to say?
Bring your personal worries about transphobia being signed into law, and trans friends being excluded from public spaces. You are a living person who deserves dignity. Remind your MP of that. You will also get guidance and brochures from Trans Solidarity Alliance that outlines our demands. This is mine from last year.
Money issues?
Trans Solidarity Alliance provides a travel bursary that you can sign up for via the link.
Got a refusal or no response from your MP?Β
Come anyway! You can request a same-day appointment with your MP through a process called greencarding. They will come and see you if theyβre already in Parliament. Even if they donβt, theyβre made acutely aware of your cause because you showed up in person. This is my greencard from last year.
Here is the EHRC Code of Practice in full. It's a tough read, but some highlights are:
Organisations canβt provide trans-inclusive, single-sex services, or they risk being sued for discrimination.
e.g. domestic violence support for women including trans women, menβs rugby group including trans men (12.68).
Trans people will have nowhere safe to pee.
If youβre a trans man, businesses can't allow you to pee in the men's, and you can also be ejected from womenβs bathrooms if youβre perceived as a man. Vice versa for trans women. EHRC suggests a βthird spaceβ bathroom, which is discriminatory and unworkable for most businesses. (13.130-133)
Sports organisations must exclude trans people from single-sex competitions (13.73).Β
A womenβs only sports competition must exclude trans women because of their biological advantage or face potential lawsuits (13.74), but a trans man who has undergone testosterone treatment can also be excluded based on fairness rules (13.81).
Trans women are stripped of the legal definition of βlesbianβ, and therefore no longer have legal protections if theyβre discriminated against on the basis of sexual orientation. (2.50, 2.92).
Here is the Good Law Project's better explanation of the EHRC Code.
I have also made a PDF printout of QR codes for the government petition, email your MP tool, and mass lobby link to pass around your communities. DM me and I'll send it to you.
Still in awe of how well the D&D movie mimicked the feeling of D&D without doing anything as tediously literal as a "sitting around the table" framing device. The way some characters have names that sound like names a DM improvised on the spot, the sudden appearance and disappearance of a overpowered DM NPC for a single dungeon, the way they used the fact that characters can plausibly just mess up for no clear reason to escalate action scenes...that was cinema
Also the tragic backstories that clash noticeably with the goofy tone of the actual movie and are related in full at inopportune moments. And the fact that the DMPC is the only one with a backstory even SLIGHTLY connected to the main plot. Plus the fact that every character is a subtle representation of a DND player trope - Edgin is an extensive roleplayer who barely even uses his bard abilities and just talks his way out of every situation he finds, Holga is a wargamer who's just here to kick monster ass and barely talks about her character (to the point that her tragic backstory comes completely out of nowhere as though the DM shoved it in), Simon is a newbie who doesn't really know how the game works and has picked the most complicated class there is to start off with, and Doric is a rule-of-cool action hero who thinks the limitations on wild shape are Dumb and Stupid and the DM begrudgingly indulges her because what she does is in fairness much cooler.
I think part of the charm is that the characters are all ludicrous but feel really earnest, nobodyβs, for the most part, stopping to give the screen a Bugβs Bunny look, and when they quip it doesnβt feel like it deflates the tension.
I actually went back to rewatch the Themberchaud scene, and the delivery is such an important part, sure they joke about Themberchaud being so overweight, βThatβs one pudgy dragon,β βdid he eat the last one?β
But they actually do sound panicked making their jokes, and the quips come from the barbarian, who generally stays calm under pressure, and their bard, who realistically feels like heβs using humor to keep his head.
Seriously, compare their delivery to Ultron and Ironman joking about omelettes, itβs like night and day.
And once the chase starts, thatβs it for jokes, he may visually be comedic but the characters are taking Themberchaud 100% seriously as a threat. The next spoken joke isnβt until the very end, and itβs not any of the characters making a joke! Itβs just two characters being funny in the way their personalities interact.
They feel like real people, they get fed up with finicky magic, like the helmet not working and the speak with dead rule, they fuck up regularly, they come up with inane plans, itβs fun.
βif youβre plus sized you can just shop on shein/amazon/cider, they have a good selection!!β yeah but i donβt want to rely on fast fashion. i think fat people deserve more ethical and high quality clothing choices
Maya Kern and WitchVamp (both on tumblr) have INCREDIBLE skirts and other stuff-- Maya Kern now goes up to 8X and WitchVamp goes up to 6X! And they all have POCKETS.
In case anyone finds it helpful because mobility aids are horrifically expensive and inaccessibleβ¦
And for those people who have access to mobility devices but might benefit from a second chair they can abuse without risking expensive damageβ¦
Erik Kondo has made a website, Open Source Innovations, that details plans for DIY wheelchairs. These wheelchairs can be made from common materials like wood, plastic, and pvc. They are lightweight and can be custom fit to the user allowing from the same degree of movement you would get from a custom chair. And they are durable and easily repairable. (he has been stress testing his latest design by dropping it down stairs, dropping it out of a car, launching it across a driveway, and throwing it off a deck). Its 12lbs and I think he said its was in the $200 ish range for parts.
He also is working on cheap, open source, accessible designs for beach chairs, off road chairs, motorized attachments (think smart drive), and so on. Plus he skateboards in his wheelchair. Cool dude, helpful info, pass it on.
It's incredibly sad people have to resort to this, but it's a damn good resource. Use it. Spread awareness. Maybe one day people with physical disabilities won't need DIYs like this. But until then, reblog and share.

Now, Iβm no expert, but if 5 out of 115, or a 4%, puts me in the Top 25, beating the average score of 3, one might draw one of a number of conclusions, but the one Iβm leaning most toward is βthis list is not at all representative of what it claims to representβ.
