<— to answer these tags on main, since it’s a fun question, our guide lowered a hydrophone and so my phone is leaning on the railing right next to the hydrophone
Transphobia is about to be signed into law in the UK. We can fight this.
I am begging the UK trans community and its allies to attend the Mass Lobby at Parliament on June 25th, 11am-4pm, organised by Trans Solidarity Alliance.
Last year we broke the record for an LGBT+ mass lobby of Parliament. Will you help us break it again? Join us on 25th June 2026 to demand be
The new EHRC Code of Practice pushes trans people out of toilets, hospital wards, and community spaces. It normalises gender policing based on appearance and stereotypes. It becomes statutory guidance in the UK by the end of June.
Trans people are now legally their assigned gender at birth and must join gendered spaces accordingly, but if they are perceived as their lived gender, they can also be ejected from those spaces. The guidance says: either break the law, or don’t pass too well.
A mass lobby is where you invite your MP to discuss your concerns with you in-person. Ask your MP to:
Demand full parliamentary scrutiny, debate, and use their free vote on the EHRC Code of Practice.
Support any motions rejecting the EHRC guidance. As of June 4th, Labour MP Nadia Whittome has submitted a prayer motion - Early Day Motion 240.
Write to Bridget Phillipson, the Minister for Women and Equalities about our concerns
Your MP does not have to be an ally, they do not have to respond to your email for you to show up and greencard them (details below the cut.) What matters is that as many people as possible show up.
I cannot stress this enough: Showing up in person matters. It is much more effective than petitions, emails, and letters.
It is a horrible, stressful time, and I am so sorry if you're trans and live in the UK. But I was at last year's mass lobby and the line for greencarding alone stretched around the back gates. It was a record breaking mass lobby and made us impossible to ignore. Let's do even better this time. Details under the cut:
Worried about what to say?
Bring your personal worries about transphobia being signed into law, and trans friends being excluded from public spaces. You are a living person who deserves dignity. Remind your MP of that. You will also get guidance and brochures from Trans Solidarity Alliance that outlines our demands. This is mine from last year.
Money issues?
Trans Solidarity Alliance provides a travel bursary that you can sign up for via the link.
Got a refusal or no response from your MP?
Come anyway! You can request a same-day appointment with your MP through a process called greencarding. They will come and see you if they’re already in Parliament. Even if they don’t, they’re made acutely aware of your cause because you showed up in person. This is my greencard from last year.
Here is the EHRC Code of Practice in full. It's a tough read, but some highlights are:
Organisations can’t provide trans-inclusive, single-sex services, or they risk being sued for discrimination.
e.g. domestic violence support for women including trans women, men’s rugby group including trans men (12.68).
Trans people will have nowhere safe to pee.
If you’re a trans man, businesses can't allow you to pee in the men's, and you can also be ejected from women’s bathrooms if you’re perceived as a man. Vice versa for trans women. EHRC suggests a ‘third space’ bathroom, which is discriminatory and unworkable for most businesses. (13.130-133)
Sports organisations must exclude trans people from single-sex competitions (13.73).
A women’s only sports competition must exclude trans women because of their biological advantage or face potential lawsuits (13.74), but a trans man who has undergone testosterone treatment can also be excluded based on fairness rules (13.81).
Trans women are stripped of the legal definition of ‘lesbian’, and therefore no longer have legal protections if they’re discriminated against on the basis of sexual orientation. (2.50, 2.92).
Here is the Good Law Project's better explanation of the EHRC Code.
I have also made a PDF printout of QR codes for the government petition, email your MP tool, and mass lobby link to pass around your communities. DM me and I'll send it to you.

I just realized why I always find playing clerics (and to a lesser extent, paladins) less fulfilling than it feels like it’s going to be at the start of a campaign. It’s because what appeals to me about the concept of being a cleric (and other people can have totally different, equally good reasons) is the relationship between a cleric and their god.
There’s a real foundation of loyalty and devotion to the god’s ideals, but at the same time, gods are embodiments of abstract principles and clerics aren’t, so there are going to be times when the cleric and the god want different things. And they need to negotiate that over the weird medium of prayers and powers and dice rolls and so forth. It’s an intensely personal relationship with a being you basically never interact with directly. And, not being a religious person IRL, it’s not the sort of thing I can get outside of games.
But the problem is, DnD gods are, you know, not real. Worse, they’re even less real than the PCs or even the NPCs, who at least get screen time and people controlling them directly. The real Great Powers of the game world are the GM and the other players, none of whom are going to be as interested in the embodiment of an abstract principle as the person who decided to play a cleric. So while the GM might be deciding your god’s reactions to things, their decisions will be based (and rightly so!) on what makes sense in the rules, makes for a good story, maintains PC power balance, etc. So there won’t really be any there there, and the cleric’s player ends up playing both ends of the relationship. Which, if you were looking to experiment with a new way of relating to a being other than yourself, is not really ideal.
@another-normal-anomaly What you are looking for is Godsend, published by UFO Press!
These are times of trouble: the days are numbered. Legends told us about them. We have names for them in our sacred scriptures: the Ragnarök, the War of Gods, the Apocalypse, the Arrival of Avatars, the Eternal Night, the Infinite Void.
The end of days.
But we are not alone, we are not powerless: the gods are walking among us. They are here to guide us, to save the world as we know it – or to help us reach the land of the Dead.
If we pray faithfully enough and prove our worthiness, perhaps we can be spared.
In Godsend, each player embodies two characters - one is a God who has achieved a presence in their domain during the End of Days. The other is an avatar - but (and this is critical here) not your own God’s avatar. You play as the avatar of someone else’s God. Your avatars have the option to follow their deity’s wishes, or to forge their own path, although going their own way will certainly have consequences. That being said, depending on the choices you make, your Avatar might ascend into godhood themselves, thus changing the dynamic of the pantheon as this age ends and another world rises from the ashes.
Godsend is diceless, which is what sets it apart from the other games in its Legacy system family. I think this is meant to represent how when it comes to beings with this level of power, chance has nothing to do with it. Instead, the game is about when you decide to act, and how much you’re willing to commit to your actions in order to ensure what you want comes to pass.
Also, for a duet option, maybe check out Apotheosis, by paladinbaby.

Reasons Why Fans of Color Leave/Don’t Interact with Fandom
Casual racism that is brushed off as “an innocent mistake” or “they didn’t mean it” and then everyone pretending like it didn’t happen and moving on with their day (repeat)
Speaking over fans of color about issues that pertain to them specifically
When fans of color speak out about something that makes them uncomfortable or why that don’t interact with it (usually because of the racial/ethnic bias) they are accused of being anti’s or pro-censorship
Characters of color being used as scapegoats/bashed/plot devices
Characters of color never getting happy endings/real development
Backlash against characters of color if they do anything other than be a white character’s side kick/best friend
Actors of characters of color being harassed for something their character did or didn’t do
White characters/actors getting all the attention/credit despite the fact that they are a side character to a POC or on the same level as the POC
Fanfic authors patting themselves on the back for writing a “realistic” character of color and it’s just a bunch of stereotypes
Being told that they should be happy they were even included when they call out the above people
White fans crying about persecution/exclusion because their fav character/trope/kink/ship isn’t loved by all
Fan artists re-imaging characters of color as white/lightening skin tone
Everyone rushing to a white fans defense after a well deserved call out while the fan of color receives hate
Never having a safe fandom space and always having to be on guard with new people/fandoms/chats etc because they’ve been burned before
"Women who lead with a more "male" style do not fare any better. Women are often punished for the same personality traits that men are praised for. Less than a year into [Jill] Abramson's role as the head of the New York Times, Dylan Byers published a scathing exposé at Politico on her leadership style, titled "Turbulence at the Times."
The piece alleged that Abramson was widely disliked at the paper for her "brusque" and "difficult" manner. The article started by detailing an alleged confrontation between Abramson and her second in command, Dean Baquet, that ended with Baquet storming out of her office and punching a wall.
This altercation was used as the first example of Abramson's apparent provocation, with anonymous employees telling Byers, "If Baquet had burst out of the office in a huff... it was likely because Abramson had been unreasonable."
Yet she wasn't the one who punched the wall. "Unreasonable" behavior by women apparently justifies violent behavior by men.
Marissa Mayer faced similar critiques. She was too brusque and not collaborative enough. She was a perfectionist and a micromanager. The traits that Abramson and Mayer were criticized for are traits that make men into legends in their industries."
jumping in the murray x king gus ship! ( I know my king gus is shit, he should be way more buff.
I didn't have enough time to properly design him between work, ToT will do better next time...

god, the cat autism really gets me sometimes. I was at a writing meet-up, and someone started talking about munchkins cats and how badly they wanted one, and I was like "hahahah yeah, so cute, but just an FYI the deformity that shortens their legs also deforms their breastbone and can lead to early arthritis, as well as restricting natural behaviours like grooming and playing ^^" and they (appearing not to have heard me) continued scrolling through photos on their phone and showing them off, and said "actually, it's not a want, it's a need." so I (trying so hard to repress myself but unable) was like "there are some breeds that are disallowed in certain registries because the mutations have been deemed harmful, which makes the people who still breed them a lot sketchier. this means that you have a higher likelihood of receiving a sick animal. my housemate's friend brought home a munchkin kitten, and it was dead within a week." to which they presented a photo of an upside down munchkin with big eyes, and said "but look how fluffy :3"
This is how I am with horses. After learning about chronic progressive lymphedema, I can no longer look at feathered horses without wincing.
There is a direct correlation between feathering and CPL. As the name suggests, the disorder is a progressive swelling of the legs due to an accumulation of lymph, and you cannot keep track of its progression without shaving the legs.
The swelling also causes hyperkeratosis (a thickening of the skin) and deep skin folds where feather mites thrive. And when horses get feather mites, they scratch their legs until they bleed. And since legs that are swollen with lymph have a lowered immune response, those sores can get infected very easily, leaving the horse in constant pain and putting its immune system on overtime.
And if it's rainy, those feathers wick up water, causing mold and dermatitis, the latter of which can lead to extremely painful mallenders/sallenders. When owners finally give in an remove the feathering, they often find things like this:
I'm currently helping out with a Jutland horse who had no symptoms other than a bit of swelling and stomping (when they can't properly scratch their legs, they stomp them instead). When I removed her feathers, this is what I found:
The pic on the left is before I started treating her skin issues and mites. On the right is 2 weeks later. It's slow going. She's only 5 years old. Imagine if her owners, out of ignorance, had let this fester until she was 15. Imagine living your entire life with skin like that and no ability to take care of it yourself, and no one bothering to help you.
So yeah, sorry, I don't think that "majestic shire horse" or "beautiful irish cob" is all that cute.
I'm like this with betta fish. An example would be samurai and dragonscale bettas.
They're sold often by breeders but buyers are pretty much never warned of the complications. Not only are they more prone to tumors because of the extreme scale growth genes, but they are pretty much guaranteed to get what's called diamond eye.
The fish's eye is overtaken by the scales and they're unable to see.
Thankfully they can still live long healthy lives with diamond eye... But it's still so damn sad. but they're still at risk for tumors and these risks are never explained to the buyers.
i’m reminded of the developer of a mapping software who had a variable named ‘legend_handles’ that got refactored into ‘leg_handles,’ ‘leg_hands,’ and finally ‘feet’
