Hey. Why isn’t the moon landing a national holiday in the US. Isn’t that fucked up? Does anyone else think that’s absurd?
It was a huge milestone of scientific and technological advancement. (Plus, at the time, politically significant). Humanity went to space! We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! That’s a big deal! I’ve never thought about it before but now that I have, it’s ridiculous to me that that’s not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why don’t we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!
It’s July 20th. That’s the day of the moon landing. Next year is going to be the 54th anniversary. I’m ordering astronaut shaped cookie cutters on Etsy and I’m going to have a goddamn potluck. You’re all invited.

Playing Skyrim and this Hadvar guy is trying to get me to join the imperial legion or whatever (despite the fact that they were going to execute me for literally no reason 20 minutes ago) and then he drops that the dragon that just attacked and saved my life WAS WITH THE STORMCLOAKS???? They have a DRAGON?!! I WANNA BE FRIENDS WITH THOSE GUYS!
There's probably some reason why I wouldn't get on with these guys but like I have no investment in this emperor guy. Is he a good ruler? Idk! All I know about him is that his soldiers were going to have me killed for no good reason! And that is not typically how you make a good first impression!
So I'm going to try and join the Stormcloaks. They have a dragon and they don't like the guy who was indirectly getting me killed. They just seem cooler idk
Ok so they're mega elf-racist and they've told me to go kill an ice wraith on an island they won't give me the location of. One guy told me to my face that their goal is to kill all the elves like I would agree with him. I'm visibly a dark elf btw. No headgear or anything. I'm purple and pointy-eared right out in the open and this guy thinks I want to join him in elf genocide. Bestie what are we DOING
So basically heck the Stormcloaks too, I don't like these guys
I'm now a Thane of Whiterun so that's pretty neat. I killed a dragon somehow. It was easier than I thought it would be tbh. I gained the ability to shout really loud from it, which is apparently a thing?
Also I was going to try and play this like a high-honour RDR2 playthrough but these bandit guys just WILL NOT STOP ATTACKING ME.
My main problem right now though is I need money to buy a house to put my stuff in, and to get that money I need to go out and do stuff, which typically requires more than 8 free weight points. So I need a house to put the stuff in. So that I c
Honestly my favourite thing about this game so far is that once you're good enough friends with someone you can basically rob them blind and as long as you don't touch the fancy silverware they're completely fine with you taking their cheese wheels and loose change they have in the dresser etc.
This is especially fun when you're newly besties with the Jarl of Whiterun and now you can take anything in Dragonreach that isn't nailed down with no repercussions or negative effects on anyone

Is there a word for face blindness but with like. The whole body? Because I find it so hard staying on model when I draw because proportions just barely stick in my head at all. I can keep a vague idea of 'this is how xyz is supposed to look', but then I draw it and it can end up being, say 30% too much or too little, and I can't tell which end of the spectrum it's on when it Looks Wrong, I can't see what it is, I just know that it's Incorrect. Is this an actual thing that there's a name for or am I just not trying hard enough or something?
A series of events:
1. I put in an Annual Leave request form almost 3 weeks ago and my boss has not approved it yet
2. I went into my office today and replaced every single writing utensil with crayons in preparation for April Fools Day on Monday
3. Whilst searching for pens to remove, I found my unsigned Annual Leave form in my boss’s drawer
4. I placed my unsigned Annual Leave form in a photo frame and put it on his desk
5. The frame I used was from a photo of his kids that I deemed less important than my Leave form

Look, i’ve been on tumblr for nine fucking years and I don’t get this meme. I remember seeing it at some point, but have no clue what it means.

But like, can someone explain. The fucking. Context.
It refers to a meme song, called The Badger Song or sometimes Badger Badger Badger, Mushroom, Mushroom. There is a snake in the lyrics also. You can watch the video on YouTube, if you so desire.
By way of further explanation, this comes from a time when most people had 56K modems or even slower, so downloading a full video clip of even crappy 320x240 resolution could take 5-10 minutes. You really had to want to see the Ballad of Bilbo Baggins or the Exploding Whale.
Flash bypassed this problem with cel animation. they’ve got Badger Badger Badger, Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny, Charlie the Unicorn, the original asdfmovie, and just…so many other animations and games that were thought to be lost or unplayable.
as of their most recent update, their archive has over 130,000 games and 20,000 animations, and most of them look just as crisp as they did 20 years ago.
so, go put Badger Badger Badger fullscreen and admire all of those sharp edges and clean lines! or play the Escape the Room series from 2keysgames, or the old Barbie games, or whatever you want! it’s an incredible resource, and I have spent hours getting lost in it.
