I don't know who my intended audience is here, so whoever needs to hear this, I am begging you to learn to participate in conversations that are about things you aren't interested in.
Part of socializing and having friends is being a good listener even when you don't actually give a shit about the subject.
Your are hurting other people's feelings when you bluntly respond with "Anyway..." and then change the topic.
It can not always be about your preferred topic.
You are being rude. Yes, even if you are neurodivergent. You can be both autistic and rude.
I just came across two "authors" that have written fics Im interested in.. and I rigured out they used ai for the whole thing
How should I deal with blogs like that? Do I report them? Block them? Should I do anything at all?
Because I commented on the first fic asking if its ai and they blocked me so I cant even protect anyone else from reading that because I forgot their name
And on the second fic I commented I asked the same thing and they suddenly deleted all of their post but they had a full ass masterlist
Is asking about ai an insult now? Cuz i dont want to blame this people out of the blue Im asking, but they are quicker to get offended then to defending "their" work..
Am I the crazy one??
can I be honest? you are in the wrong here. I stand with the two authors, and I’m glad they blocked you.
you said you “asked if their works are ai” which means the authors did not specifically say their works were ai-generated, meaning you guessed, based on vibes, and then you threw an accusation at them. I have already talked about why it’s rude, entitled and insulting for someone to ask a writer if their works are ai-generated here, here and here.
and I have said time and time again that “ai witch hunt, speculation and accusations harm the writing community as much as ai does, if not more”.
so whether or not you know it, you are harming the writing community — just like ai does, if not more — by going around asking random writers if their works are ai, as if writers owe you anything (fun fact: they do NOT owe you anything).
every “ai telltale” is something human writers write. what do you think ai was trained on? what do you think it was trained to mimic?
“how do I deal with this?” by curating your own internet experience. block them if that’s what you want (you can block anybody for any reason). it’s not your problem or your business how a writer writes, whether or not they use ai.
no, I am not a fan of ai, but I can accept that if someone chooses to let ai write everything for them, then that is their business. do I agree with them? no. will I harass them for it? no. will I call them out? no. what they do is literally none of my business.
also no, it’s not your job or your business to “protect anyone from reading their works”. you are not their parent. if someone reads their works and if they think it’s ai, then they can make their own decision on whether or not they will continue reading it.
if you think their works are ai, you can choose not to read them. you can block them if that’s what you want. but
1. writers do NOT owe you anything
2. yes, it’s absolutely valid for a writer to NOT want to be asked if their works are ai — them deleting their works after you asked them if their work is ai is NOT proof that they used ai. they could very well be devastated that something they worked so hard on was accused of being something it’s not, and if that’s the case then you should be ashamed of yourself. (if they did use ai then that’s still their choice, their business and something they have the rights to do — even though I don’t agree with them, I will never condone harassment.)
3. I have already seen enough writers step away from posting their human-made works online BECAUSE PEOPLE KEEP ASKING IF IT’S AI. and it can be very disheartening for them. (me personally I don’t care if someone asks me this, because I know I don’t let ai write for me and I never let strangers’ negativity affect me, but I understand why some other writers care.)
3. no, you cannot know “for sure” if a fic is ai-generated. unless the author says so themself, you can only guess based on vibes. as I’ve said before, every ai telltale is something human writers actually write, otherwise ai would never have been able to mimic it at all.
4. harassment will never ever make you the good guy.
also you cannot report them for being ai, let alone because you personally suspected that it’s ai, because ai-generated works are allowed. it’s allowed on ao3 (here’s what ao3 said about ai-generated works on their platform), and since tumblr as a site itself, just like every other social media platform, also promotes and uses ai to help them run the platform, I guess it’s fair to assume they allow ai-generated contents on their platform too.
again, I am not a fan of ai fics, but I condemn harassment, ai witch hunt and speculations more.
respectfully, do better.
if anything, I believe you owe these two writers an apology.
Yeah....as someone who has been accused of doing Ai writing/art is IS very annoying. I've even wanted to take down work because of it. Just cause it causes SO MUCH harassment. Like if you don't take it down, you'll be flooded. People may disagree; however, the harassment is the worst. Harassment doesn't make anyone a hero.
I think Anon knows what they did was fucked up or they wouldn’t have submitted this anonymously.

Eaglets were observed in a Chicago cemetery and at a Southeast Side park this spring, marking a historic milestone.
BABY EAGLES IN CHICAGO!
It's been over a hundred years and they're back, they're nesting here, there's enough healthy food in the water to support breeding pairs, there's enough space for them. Eaglets in city limits again. I'd never considered this was something we could have.

The largest mass shooting in American history was a hate crime against gay people. Don’t ever forget that.
June 12, 2016. Putting a date on this for when it gets reblogged months from now by people who think the post is about something from 30, 40 years ago.
I am a survivor of the Pulse nightclub shooting, having grown up in Orlando and just turned 20 a month prior. If you didn’t know, there were several families who refused to claim the bodies of their relatives due to their sexuality. One family even had their relative’s name removed from the memorial. Murdered by the same hate with which their families reject them in both life and death.
Many, many people celebrated Pulse. We were told we deserved it. That it was God’s punishment for our sin of loving the same sex. We are sent messages like these I received in 2018:
We in the community often call the victim count 49+ to include the survivors who couldn’t live with the pain.
The event was never officially declared a hate crime or targeted homophobic attack and is rarely listed as one in databases.
At our vigils for those slaughtered, Extremist Christian groups showed up to protest, holding signs like this:
ID: Me kissing a woman I was casually seeing in front of an angry looking man with a “Sodomy is Sin” sign.
Please understand how much more than just a mass shooting this was. We are still to this day harassed and told we deserved it by some.
This year was the sixth anniversary. The first couple years I received dozens of messages checking in on me on 6/12. Year 5 got enough news coverage for people to think to reach out to me. This year it was my therapist, the woman I kissed in that photo, and a couple of other gun violence survivor friends. People are forgetting already.
With the 7 year anniversary <2 weeks away, I figured I’d reblog this

reblog and put in the tags the color of your bedroom walls
the group chat when i ask whos available to hang out next week
Mulder craning at a 90 degree angle to get eye to eye with scully is nuts but THIS SCENE IS CRAZY. The insane intimacy of saying “there’s no one we can trust now”. There’s you and there’s me, crammed into this tiny frame, and there’s everyone else in the world. Btw we’ve only known each other for a couple months. See you at work tomorrow, coworker
Good grief, it really grates my cheese how you're not actually able to opt out of anything anymore.
'Don't suggest posts like this user' doesn't actually prevent the algo from suggesting posts from that user.
'Unsubscribe from our email list' doesn't actually unsubscribe you.
No option to actually say 'no' to anything, it's all just 'remind me later' or 'finish this later' or 'ask me next time'.
I know this is not a new complaint, but GOD, I HAAAAAATE this.
I HATE that the option to actually say 'no' to stuff quietly died several years ago, and now you can't control anything on your digital landscape anymore.
do not go to Dr. Kenneth Wolf for top surgery
I went to him because he was 1.) the cheapest possible option and since I needed crowdfunding that seemed best 2.) within driving distance of my friends who’d be able to host me. I didn’t have any complications and I don’t hate my results, so the fact that he stopped offering free revisions after COVID (including for people who had their surgeries before the pandemic) and ghosts everyone isn’t a huge deal personally. I do have moderate to severe dog-earring right in the middle my chest which limits what clothing I can wear and have inquired about possible revisions with other surgeons (so far no one has been willing to operate on other dr’s work and have told me I’d need to pay the price of a full secondary top surgery). Dr. Wolf famously ghosts all his patients after surgery and has strict weight limits.
HOWEVER I accompanied my friend to their top surgery at the University of Michigan last year that made Dr. Wolf’s entire process seem back alley and sketchy by comparison. My friend had extensive pre- and post-surgical monitoring and extreme sanitary precautions. Dr. Wolf just had me take off my shirt and slapped me on the operation table still wearing my street clothes and then scraped me up and sent me home the moment I regained consciousness. His bedside manner was offputting and uncomfortable. It has been impossible to contact him ever since, even to ask politely why my stitches look so different from his other results. Other people with much worse results have also been ghosted.
OH AND ALSO when I asked if he could swap my left and right nipples just for the hell of it he said “yeah sure lol” but apparently you’re not supposed to do that because there is the risk of like, manually metastasizing cancer cells. lol. I did ask for it and I think I am at very low risk for breast cancer but I do think a responsible surgeon should at least know about and warn you of that possibility before agreeing to it.
my friends and my ex were great caretakers who made the recovery process easy and kind of fun but knowing what I know now makes the whole experience retroactively a little bit traumatic
An additional anecdote: My roommate got top surgery with this guy during our freshman year of college, and he had no family or other friends in the area to accompany him. On any normal day I would've skipped class to do so, but I had a quiz worth like a fifth of my grade and not enough advance warning to ask if I could take the alternate time (my roommate told me about this literally the morning of).
Dr. Wolf operated on an unaccompanied patient and let him get in a Lyft by himself immediately post-surgery.
A week or so he had to go back in to deal with a minor complication, and wanted to go by himself again. So I emailed Dr. Wolf to ask if I should push back and insist on coming with this time, and got this reply:
We always feel safer for the patient to have somebody with him. If it was the hospital, they would refuse to even do him without somebody with him.
I guess it technically beats operating on him alone a second time, but straight-up admitting that a hospital would never do the kind of thing he does is... telling, I think.
wow yeah I don’t love that
he seems to have been a lot more communicative in the past when he offered revisions but I don’t know if his other policies used to be better
also correction: there was a one week follow up appointment where he changed the bandages and told me it looked fine but there was no other communication after that. also he used penrose drains which I didn’t personally mind but was a lot grosser for my caretakers because it meant I was just oozing directly into my bandages, soaking through them, and staining clothes/bedding.

Younger people, one thing I want you to understand about Millenials is that, overall, our parents taught their daughters to aim for careers and employment, but they didn't teach their sons to keep house. This causes a whole lot of Situations.
