maybe i'm missing something, but where that "radfems hate/fetishise/try to silence trans men" idea came from? why would i want to do that? why would any of us do that?
many of us are detransitioners or desisters, many of us spent years and years in some local "queer" communities. maybe that's just my bias and a pure coincidence, but when i hear horror stories from those times, trans men are literally never the perpetrators or aggressors in them.
we know how it feels to be so overwhelmed with society standards, misogyny and stereotypes that we would even reach for a rusty blade if it offered to take us out of this whirlpool of despair and hopelessness.
why would i hate them? i was like them, a long time ago, although it feels like a different lifetime today. but there's no hatred or aggression, only compassion and understanding of how cruel this world can be.
TRA's seem to completely make things up about radical feminists quite often. And I do not think it is completely out of ignorance either. Rather its a very deliberate tactic.
TRAs love saying âbelieve people are who they say they areâ except when it comes to lesbians saying they donât like dick and not even if itâs attached to someone whoâs altered themselves to look like a woman.
Well as a bi woman, I trust lesbians to know who they are. They say theyâre female people only capable of being attracted to other female people.
So, I believe it. I donât have to know what itâs like to only be attracted to one sex. I just believe women are what they say they are.
The fact that a wealthy, white mother-of-two in California with access to excellent prenatal and birth care, acting as a surrogate for another family in the safest, cleanest, least coercive of all possible surrogacy arrangements, died this week while giving birth really underscores the surrogacy thoughts I've been having recently. Should you be ethically willing or legally able to compel another woman to risk death at worst and major lifetime health consequences at best just so you can have a child that is biologically related to you?
Hereâs an article about it.
She died of an amniotic fluid embolism, which is rare but very deadly.
This post gives another example of a surrogate dying and includes this disturbing information:
An article online incorrectly states âthe risks of being a surrogate mother are the same as for every pregnancy.â This is not true. Recent studies have shown that surrogate pregnancies are different and are high-risk. Studies show that women pregnant with donor eggs (as in gestational surrogacy) have a more than three-fold risk of developing pregnancy induced hypertension and pre-eclampsia. Â
W/ the greater risk of hypertension/pre-eclampsia, why? Or rather, is it known why?
Because in a normal pregnancy the baby is >50% related to the mother. In surrogacy, an unrelated egg is used, which means entirely foreign biological material in the woman's body.
Pregnancy is basically a 9 month-long battle between the woman and the embryo; a "healthy" full-term pregnancy can only happen if, essentially, the women's body doesn't realize that the embryo is there, because if it does it will attack it with the woman's immune system as a "foreign body." This is the main reason the placenta exists, to shield the embryo from the woman's immune system (along with nutrient absorption obviously).
The closer the embryo is to the woman, the less likely an immune response will be triggered; this applies to gestational surrogacy, but also relates to things like the sex of the embryo and the embryo's blood type. So, the more genetically different an embryo is from its mother, the higher the overall risk of triggering an immune response, which then increases the likelihood of a smorgasbord of complications given the strain that an immune response causes both the mother and the embryo.
this is just personal observation, but all the people I know who had surrogates (which is only 3 so who really knows), their babies are so so sick all the time. Like months premature, weeks in NICU, multiple hospital stays in infancy, now constantly sick as toddlers, canât keep weight on, lowest percentiles of height / weight, etc etc. Literally every one of them.
and maybe itâs just a coincidence but maybe you arenât supposed to implant your eggs in another woman and assume her body will grow a healthy baby for you? not to even talk about what it does to an infant to be forcibly removed from their mother at birthâŚ.
This should be obvious to anyone who knows anything about pregnancy/women's healthcare. But because even doctors seem to think that pregnancy is when a woman just incubates a man's offspring for a few months, providing nothing but a chamber in which the baby can grow, they treat it as if it makes no difference where the embryo came from.
Surrogacy is this horrible intersection between modern medicine + capitalism and an almost medieval understanding of pregnancy. Worst of both worlds.
it's not only surrogacy. i meet a lot of kids who are the products of IVF, and the allergies, the immune issues, the eye issues, they are many. I wonder about embryos who have been frozen and thawed. surely that affects the human being? who went through that?
I once was one of the loudest supporters of trans women, the biggest thing that made me change, was realizing how little they actually cared about women. I respected them, just wasn't attracted to them? TERF. I believe there are spaces for women that they should not be allowed in? TERF. Trying to discuss the biological differences from people born xx and xy ? TERF.
I tried so hard to be open and accepting, to see you as women, but time and time again, anything we said that slightly misaligned with how you viewed women, our voices silenced, met with rape/death threats, and often times called misogynystic names. No more will I speak in defense of you guys, when we born as women are not given the same respect.

Trans women in my replies: get raped and die ugly cumslut foid
I wonder when society is gonna realize that sending abusive men to therapy does nothing but equip them with new official sounding therapyspeak terms to use when guilt tripping their victims
If you're able to understand why it's bad and dehumanizing to call any other marginalized group an animal-based insult, then you are fully capable of understanding why using "bitch" as an insult is sexist.
Men are like "i can barely afford to survive. Time for a baby"
"my father became an alcoholic because he had 5 kids he couldn't feed" was your father a bankrupt billionaire who lost all his prosperity at the worst moment or did was he already a broke ass who discovered children require resources to be spent on them only after the 5th one and decided to take away what they had by becoming an addict instead of being responsible?
"i was a bit hungry all the time because my family had 10 kids and barely enough food for everyone" okay why didn't your father pull out then
Fathers always a fat fuck too when their kids are hungry
actually as a woman I still think misandry makes you an unpleasant person and if youâre just out there saying shit like âall men should dieâ or âmenâs mental health doesnât matterâ then youâre the type of person I want nothing to do with. also this is not what feminism is about btw, youâre not being a strong girl boss with this ideology, youâre just a bully
anyway i love misandrists please follow me if you're a misandrist!!!
feminism is about liberating women and girls from the patriarchy...we don't have to love our oppressors and we can in fact hate them!
It's fascinating, isn't it? How in every single space where women talk, there will always, without exception, be women who defend men, who will say the women go too far--by literally just talking.
Meanwhile you can find men saying the most disgusting things about women and girls and not a single man stands up to them to say the tiniest "maybe that's too far" to them.
And the difference, of course, between women saying mean things about men, and men saying what they do about women is that women are only venting. Yes, even those who say they aren't. We know this because it's not thousands of men being murdered by their female intimate partners every year, and many more hospitalized. It's not male babies being murdered just for being male. It's not men in any country of the world, now or ever, being locked in their homes, unallowed to speak to one another or even look out the windows. It's not female police coercing male rape victims to say they lied and then blasting them all over the news as false accusers. It's not an entire industry built on primarily men and boy's sexual exploitation for the pleasure of women.
Then of course there are the things women couldn't do to men even if we wanted to, but men certainly do it to us: forcible impregnation, and forcing women to bring unwanted pregnancies to term, even if it kills her.
But clearly the real problem is women just aren't nice enough to men.

I hate the âmurder is worse than rapeâ mentality
I can forgive a murder under the right circumstances. Sometimes murder is legitimately the only option left
There is never any circumstances where rape is an option at allâ let alone the only one
Rape is torture. Rape is a life sentence of trauma. Many people never recover from being raped to the point they wished they were murdered or even kill themselves
Rape is the most inhumane crime
Rape is a justifiable circumstance for murder
i feel like supporting this mindset can also hinder women from believing they should defend themselves against a rapist in the first place. itâs essentially a way of sayingâ âyouâre about to be raped, and thereâs nothing you can do about it because murdering him is worse then him raping you.â
Murdering him does society and women a favor because there's one less rapist alive
amen
Misogynist CLOCKED in Parismwenda's comment section. Satisfying.
It's something that TRA do often, though, bring up tims when women, women's rights, or feminism is discussed.
âFormer menâ sheâs getting so close to peaking. Come on, you can do it.
It's always the "you're including trans women, right?" and "I'm a trans girl, am I included?"
If you have to ask, you already know you're not a woman. So, no, you're not included. Bye, Brandon.
I hate that the actually very good notion that we should show trans people the basic respect everyone deserves and not let them be discriminated against has just completely snowballed into pretending that men can be women and that straight people can be gay
Trans people deserve the same healthcare as everyone else and the autonomy to choose cosmetic surgery/hrt on top of that with informed consent if they are in a position to be able to receive informed consent. Trans people deserve to be treated humanely in day to day life and not be constantly asked invasive questions by strangers. Trans people deserve to be able to play sports, albeit not on teams specifically designed for the sex they do not belong to. They are people. And none of that changes the fact that you cannot change your sex which is the basis of people's sexuality. I wish more people understood that all of the above beliefs can and do and should coexist.
These tags:
what many call 'transhealthcare' or 'trans rights' is just peak liberalism: instrumentalizing parliament for the proliferation of capital so corporative medicine benefits from transhumanism (commodification of human bodies)
rather than addressing/treating what motivated body dysmorphia, the aim is to sell marketable identities via cosmetic surgery
the places where most statistics of violent crime against them come from, namely Brazil and Mexico, are widely homophobic. In short, men kill other men because of homophobia. But that is not the root cause activism towards them seeks to resolve. Instead, homophobia/sexism/misogyny/transhumanism/capitalism take over and here we are, surrounded by the wealthy getting wealthier and authorities trying to heal a social wound with a knife
I love you all so much.
Sisters, some of you may lack experience evaluating scientific evidence, yet are confronted with TRAs saying âscience proves trans people exist!â and providing links to scientific studies claiming to have found a biological basis for trans identity, or proof that transition is beneficial to trans people.
Iâd like to outline a few concepts that may help you understand the problems with the science that has been conducted on the subject of trans people. I am not a scientist, so Iâd much appreciate any feedback or corrections.
1. Begging the question
Here are some of the studies being held up as proof that trans people are âvalidâ:
A study of the brains of trans women, trans men, cis women and cis men, and the potential for gender-based differences: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2015/01/150107082133.htm
Our sense of belonging to the male or female gender is an inherent component of the human identity perception. As a general rule, gender ide
A study on the brains of some trans men, and some cis men and cis women, claiming to show that the brains of the trans men had more similarities to the cis male brains, relative the cis female brains: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0022395610001585
Some gray and white matter regions of the brain are sexually dimorphic. The best MRI technique for identifying subtle differences in white m
Youâve heard it before, Iâm sure. Are you ready to learn why these studies were giant wastes of time? And no, itâs not even because of the obvious problem right off the bat (How did they know there were no closted trans people in the âcisâ groups? How could they be sure there were no future detransitioners in the trans groups?).
Itâs because, if you want to do science, you cannot start by assuming what you are trying to prove. This is known as the fallacy of âbegging the question.â They relied on the self-reports of trans people to sort them in a group apart from cis people. In attempting to prove the biological basis for the category âtransâ, they assumed the category âtransâ had a biological basis. This is what pseudoscientists do.
This fallacy comes up a lot in arguments with the devoutly religious: âThe human eye is too complex to have evolved, it must have been designed. Therefore, God exists.â Sir, noâŚ. you cannot assume that the eye is too complex to have evolved that way. You must prove that to me.
What they should have done, right from the start, is study the brains of self-identified trans people, and from there predict the future detransitioners. Or they could have studied the brains of self-identified non-trans people, and predicted which ones were closted trans people. That would have been real science.
âI am not convinced. After all, they found something that looks âfemaleâ in the brains of the trans women! Maybe their methods are flawed but they must have found something!â
Not necessarily. I think what may be going on is known as:
2. P-hacking
When I was a young child, I saw a History Channel Special that claimed to prove that the Bible predicted the JFK assassination. I think the letters of a certain translation were arranged in grid form, and certain words related to the JFK assassination were grouped in close proximity. Stupid, right?
But I was just a kid, so I told my dad âDad! Did you know the bible predicted the JFK assassination?â And my father recognized that as an excellent opportunity to teach me about p-hacking.
âNo,â he said, âthose are just coincidences.â
âDad, are you blind? What are the odds that those exact words would be found together like that?â
âNot very high. But donât forget⌠they werenât looking for evidence that the bible predicted the JFK assassination. They were looking for evidence that the Bible predicted anything, in the history of ever. Itâs actually quite unlikely, using their methods, that youâd find NO uncanny predictions of anything thatâs ever happened in human history. And youâd probably find a few uncanny predictions in the Harry Potter books, using this method.â
These researchers in the second study cited did not set out to find whether trans men had similar fractional anistropy levels in posterior part of the right superior longitudinal fasciculus to cis men. They were looking at whether the white matter patterns of trans men had any similarity to cis men (of course, in doing so they flagrantly beg the question, but I digress).
The brain is highly complex. When you conduct an MRI scan, you generate mountains of data. And if you set out to prove that a similarity exists somewhere in this mile-deep well of data you have generated for these individuals, you are going to find something that appears statistically significant. Itâs actually unlikely that you will find no similarities between any two groups of people who have their brains scanned. And, if you are engaged in anti-scientific motivated reasoning, you will take this and claim to have found evidence for a biological basis for trans identification.
âPerhaps there is faulty science going on but you canât argue with the results! Transition saves lives! Studies have shown that it makes people feel so much better!â
Well, thereâs a problem with that, too.
3. The placebo effect
The neurological basis of the placebo effect has been extensively studied. We know, for example, that it can be augmented or dampened by certain drugs. We know that it exists even when you know you are being given a placebo. And we know that the more elaborate a placebo is, the more effective it is: so a surgery will be more effective than an injection, which will be better than a pill.
Do you see where Iâm going with this? Have you ever heard of a more elaborate treatment than gender transition: surgery, hormones, clothing, hair, name, pronouns, every aspect of your life can change.
But transition has not been proven to be any more effective at treating gender dysphoria than some kind of equally elaborate placebo. Thatâs the piece thatâs missing, that would usually be accounted for when studying any sort of medical treatment.
âBut there are a lot of health benefits to placebos. If they help people, then they help people.â
This is true. Thereâs a problem, though. Transition is not tumeric pills or reiki or like⌠journaling frequently. In fact, it comes with risks of absolutely nightmarish consequences. Trans women are walking around, right now, with colostomy bags because of botched vaginoplasties. Trans men are stuck with chronic kidney infections from phalloplasties, as well as the risk of gangrene and lifelong weakness in their donor sites, as well as phantom pain and progressive tightening and sclerosing from their mastectomies. Puberty blockers disrupt brain development and put a child at risk of osteoporosis, sterility, and sexual dysfunction. Hormones cause powerful and systemic changes that have not been fully studied, but consider this: what happens when the cartilagenous valves on a male-sized heart become thinner and more flexbile under the influence of estrogen? What happens when the cartilage structures in a female sized brain become larger and tougher in response to testosterone? Do you know?
You donât, because nobody knows. We arenât studying these treatments. We are experimenting on human beings, just like they did in the Nazi camps, and for what: treatments that have not been proven to be better than a placebo, that are based on faulty science, and that donât even hold up to common sense. Why would you amputate a healthy young womanâs breasts? Because she begged you to? Is that how medicine works?
âBut why does the trans rights movement need to lean on junk science? Why donât they do real science instead?â
Because it is a religion. Thatâs it, thatâs the only explanation left. They believe that they have gender identities, that are at odds with their physical bodies. Theses gender identities have not been demonstrated to exist. These gender identities seem to want things of trans people, and they seem to be placated with certain rites (going to the beach after top surgery, standing to pee after phalloplasty) and certain prayers (compelled pronoun usage). Gender identities act similarly to the members of any polytheistic pantheon.
I have no problem with anyoneâs religion. But it is time the scientific establishment, and the government, understand that in âaffirmingâ trans people, while defacing the scientific method, logic and common sense, they are in fact respecting an establishment of religion. They do this to the ultimate detriment of trans people, who have come to them for help, for answers, and are made a mockery.
âWhy do you care so much about trans people?â
Because theyâre human beings and they deserve better than this horseshit. Because I used to be one. Because if not me, then who?
Iâve seen the phrase âtooth fairy scienceâ used to summarize the attitudes of transgender studies. Itâs attempting to measure a phenomona without ever questioning whether that phenomena is actually real. Itâs the equivalent of trying to tabulate how much money the tooth fairy leaves without ever questioning if the tooth fairy actually exists.
terfs celebrating that the international chess federation has banned trans women from competing in women's FIDE competitions, because it's sooooooo feminist to argue that women are so biologically inferior and nowhere near as smart as men and thus can't play chess on the same level. girl that's not feminism that's literally just misogyny
I know youâre not looking for an answer but the reason chess sometimes still allows womenâs only tournaments has nothing to do with women not being as good at chess, but because chess is such a predominantly boys club where men vastly outnumber women in competitions, and many male chess players are still quite dismissive of women players.
So women made their own chess teams where they could compete together but also didnât have to worry about sexism from other male coaches and male players.
In fact, we find that gender bias inhibits women chess players; when women are told they are playing against men in online games, for example, they consistently play les aggressively, because we all still live in a sexist society and yes that even affects how we play chess. When women think theyâre playing against other women they revert back to aggressive play. (And letâs not ignore the historic dismissal of female chess players by male chess players. Bobby Fischerâs âwomen are not so smartâ quote for example)
So yes. We still allow women to have separate chess competitions, because at it turns out sometimes âequal opportunityâ doesnât actually lead to equality, even in a game like chess.
A vast majority of all chess tournaments are still open to all, coed.
"One study even found that the more men there are taking a maths test in the same room as a solo woman, the lower women's performance become. And, surrounded by men, she herself may come to grudgingly believe that women are indeed naturally inferior in maths.
The mind turns from a focus on seeking success (being bold and creative) to a focus on avoiding failure, which involves being cautious, careful and conservative. A mind that is struggling with negative stereotypes and anxious thoughts is not in a psychologically optimal state for doing taxing intellectual tasks.
Stereotype effects have been seen in women who: record their sex at the beginning of a quantitative test (which is standard practice for many tests); are in the minority as they take the test; have instructors or peers who hold sexist attitudes or have just watched women acting in air-headed ways in commercials."
Delusions of Gender by Cordelia Fine
Add to that the pressure of having to represent all women: indeed, every time a woman fails against a man it is held as proof of the unfitness and inferiority of our entire sex. I also remember a study that showed men try harder when facing a woman, they really make it a point to destroy her, because it's not just a game to them it's about maintaining their dominance. Worth noting that male chess players have been sexually harassing and threatening female chess players since the begining. You make a piss poor political commentator if you refuse to take any of this into account (or are simply ignorant of those facts) as you complain about women not wanting to compete in a male environment.
And lastly, I'll say it again, even if none of this happened, women don't need your permission to spend time together and play together and exist without men. We don't owe men our attention.
"We don't owe men our attention"
Honestly, these people just keep outing themselves. It's like they're negging women or something.
Men are KNOWN to sexually harass women, we KNOW women perform worse among men because of rampant and internalized misogyny (see the points above). So women want their own spaces to get away from that.
The fact that these people are incapable of understanding that women don't want to deal with misogynistic bullshit from men, and instead default to "if you don't put up with men sexually harassing you in chess, you admitting that you're weaker than them. You're lesser? Are you dumber than men, is that it? You're just a stupid woman? That's why you don't want to compete with men who statistically put you in danger? You're inferior?"
Like.. no?
chess dudes: women are inferior to me and less intelligent than me, we outnumber you and make this a hostile uncomfortable environment for you to play chess thus hindering your performance
women: we'll just go over here and play chess amongst ourselves then
trans activist: so you agree....you think you're inferior and unintelligent?
is everything on fucking earth women's fault? maybe blame the sexist chess dudes??
