if you were mentally healthy, you wouldn’t be tortured by the existence of your body , and you wouldn’t feel the need to medically or cosmetically alter your otherwise healthy body . idk why it’s so hard for them to admit that yes dysphoria is a mental illness … maybe because it clashes with the “ being trans is innate and something you’re born as ” bs ?

- sylvia rivera did identify as a transsexual woman (and made disparaging speeches about lesbians). she was not an ally to lesbians. lesbians and transwomen have not always been allies.
