A teacher, Luisa Velázquez Herrera, dismantles the myth of self-determination of sex:

“Okay, let’s suppose that gender is a choice, that’s what you’ve said, right? That means we can stop being women.” “They answer ‘yes’ with conviction.

“Very well, then let’s launch massive campaigns to encourage all women and all girls not to ‘perceive’ or ‘identify’ as women.” If that puts an end to rape, femicide, the exploitation of girls and women in trafficking networks, in homes, and obstetric violence, we have the solution right under our noses… “—Doesn’t that put an end to violence?

What?! So, gender isn’t a voluntary choice? Don’t we ask women what their gender is before assaulting them?”

“I swear that not a single queer person, right there in front of me, said never a word.” “I wait a few seconds, the last minute arrives, nothing, the silence persists…..”

“Okay… I’ll end the tension… feminism highlights this: patriarchal oppression isn’t based on individually perceived identities, but on women’s sexed bodies, and listen, it’s not because my body contains an ‘essence’ of oppression, it’s because men chose violence and decided what women would be in the system they founded.”

Let's suppose, finally—I say this to conclude the example—that tomorrow everyone wakes up "non-binary," dresses androgynously, and shows creativity in their appearance; rest assured that in the kitchen, in the bathrooms, carrying babies, and suffering obstetric and sexual violence, we women will still be there. That is gender.

these people genuinely will never be satisfied. is there ANY way to discuss biological sex that is politically correct to these people? literally is there a single way to describe the 2 sexes and their differences that is allowed?????

anyway here’s one very smart and correct comment:

Many, many people celebrated Pulse. We were told we deserved it. That it was God’s punishment for our sin of loving the same sex. We are sent messages like these I received in 2018:

We in the community often call the victim count 49+ to include the survivors who couldn’t live with the pain.

The event was never officially declared a hate crime or targeted homophobic attack and is rarely listed as one in databases.

At our vigils for those slaughtered, Extremist Christian groups showed up to protest, holding signs like this:

ID: Me kissing a woman I was casually seeing in front of an angry looking man with a “Sodomy is Sin” sign.

Please understand how much more than just a mass shooting this was. We are still to this day harassed and told we deserved it by some.

Companies always list things like, ‘we eliminate discrimination on the basis of gender, race, religion, nationality, identity… oh, and disability.’ It’s just tacked on at the end. The others are mostly about being nice, respectful, and treating people equally. Not discriminating against people with disabilities is more complicated. You need to change your environment, code, the way you design things. You actually need to make changes, and most companies do not want to do that.”

“muslim women must wear hijab” VS “muslim men force muslim women wear hijab”.

“in this country, abortion is illegal” VS “men in this country made women getting abortion illegal”.
